- Here's a short video of my Lost In Space B9 Robot's arms in motion. No skin and everything showing. It's mostly showcasing the two forward servos in their gearbox and how they work in the arm. Enjoy!

WOW, didn't realize how intricate the mechanisms were... Interesting to see.
Thank you for the demo of B9.
Take care.😊
This is such great stuff. Almost 60 years after the TV show technology has caught up. Wonderful.
Yep, we live in amazing times.
Congratulation David. It's amazing.
You are an, Electrical Surgeon, Dave!! Wonderful!
Thanks my friend. I appreacheate that.
As an engineer and a LIS fan, I am totally impressed! Awesome job, brilliant creativity and engineering skill! Can't wait to see more!
Thanks for the kind words. I think I have a few more videos left in me. LOL
stella job mate, after 15 years of waiting I'm just about to start up my build again :)
Outstanding. You can do it!! LOL
That's crazy cool! Love it! 😊👍
Thanks Cap! Good to see you again.
Another super cool video from the master b9 robot builder. I will soon be going back to my build and hopefully Dave will be open for questions.
Thanks old friend. If there is anything I can help with please ask. I may not have the answers but we can find them.
Just amazing work!
AMAZING
Awesome!
Lots of design; electronic, mechanical, software, and computer engineering. Then I see some wonderful craftsmanship and machining. I am curious, how much of this is formal education and how much self taught? What do you do for living and is there a cross over in knowledge and skills?
Thanks for the very kind words. I put years of work into this build. I have no formal education in any of this stuff. Mostly self taught. I was fortunate enough to be able to follow a number of master B9 builders back when I was actively first building this robot. I pulled a lot of ideas from them. Also most of the exterior parts are from our club vendors who reproduce the parts exactly from the original robot. Oh, what do I do for a living? And retired though but when I was building this I was a journeyman lineman for a large Midwest power company in Wisconsin.
Thanks for your interest in asking.
I love the nostalgia. I watched the first 5 episodes of LIS as a kid and was forever hooked. For me at that time, nothing would have been neater than being Will Robinson on a continuous space adventure. I truly disliked how the series devolved into silly, campy scripts later on in season 1 and seasons 2 and 3. Still, I continued watching always hoping the show would return back to a more serious sci fi theme.
Sorry for the preceding rant. Regarding your work on the robot...all I can say is you must have an IQ over 200 to construct this gem from the past. I am truly jealous.😊
Yes, I understand. I share some of those regrets. With all that cool tech the series could have been a lot different with different writing. I read somewhere that they decided to go in the silly direction to compete with Batman. They wanted to appeal to the kids in the crowd.
