My B9 Robot Bubble Lifter Upgrade

  • This is a whole new design and concept from my old bubble lifter. The old way a fork design operated by a very expensive super HD servo. Once power was shut down it would leak down under the weight of the bubble. Also it was jerky and the servo was getting weak to the point I had to install a spring assist just to make it work.
This new design is very smooth and powerful. I use a worm gear motor to power the lift with an offset cam design to to move the platform up and down. An added bonus is that the worm gear motor will stay in position when powered down! Enjoy the video and feel free to comment. Happy Building!

OMG Dave, I'm totally geeking out watching your video. I can't believe Stephanie and I actually saw your b9 in person. Great job on the engineering of your bubble lifter. I will definitely follow with something similar on my b9.

Thanks Tim! Wow, that seems like so long ago that you and your wife came over. $ years? Geek away old friend.

...... Well done Mate, clever engineering upgrade.
The curvature of spacetime assisting the downward return, just don't write a script where he stands on his head.
I was thinking of lithium grease on your offset wheel and acrylic plate.

LOL, I defiantly will not let him stand on his head. That would not be a good idea.
I also thought about grease but it's totally not needed. The Acetal is naturally slippery and it slipping across plexiglass makes it more so.

Nice job Dave! It's a process and each time it get's an improved item. Wondering where you found the linear potentiometer and how much did it cost?

Thanks Don. You can get that pot on Amazon. $68 USD. Here's a link: www.amazon.com/dp/B0838L95ZJ/?coliid=I22F40R89RD5UC&colid=SR1TKXFASFMO&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
