My first thought was "that looks like a voltage comparator", firstly because of the triangular shape of the symbol and the part number looked vaguely familiar. Triangle symbols are usually operational amplifiers and voltage comparators. 555 when shown on circuit diagrams tend to be square shaped. So it being a 555 never entered my head.
