Awesome run by George Achola for the Touchdown! Always felt that Achola could have been a Top Running Back for us. He had great speed and was as strong as a bull. Held the Nebraska Bench Press record for I-Backs at one point. Something like 380 pounds! From Omaha Creighton Prep. He was always exciting whenever he got a chance to play. Never started a game for us.

I always thought that 91 NU team was the foundation for Nebraska's run of titles, especially the win against OU. Really enjoyed Keithen McCant's rise to starting QB, too.

At times they were running a lot of nickel and dime almost exclusively - a preview of that becoming the defense in 93 and the rest of the decade

That was the 92 team that had freshman Tommie taking over and them dismantling Colorado and Kansas back to back

Keithen McCant should have been at least a 2 year starter. If he had started as a junior in 1990 we would have been allot better, and he would have improved greatly by his Senior season. I always thought that McCant was more talented overall than Micky Joseph. Micky only got the nod in 1990 because of his blazing speed, but McCant was no slowpoke. He ran the hand held equivalent of a 4.35. Keithen was definitely the better passer and had a strong arm. He was also about 20 -25 pounds heavier then Mickey.

@jrino1979 their base went from a 5-2 to a 4-3. They ran 4-3 98 percent of the time against Florida in 96.

You had no chance against them, they were 3-4 deep at every single position.

Hey can you get the 93 game by chance? 91,92,95 are there but 93 was a awesome game that came down to a 2 3pt try. Which I'm sure you already know. Thanks

I wonder if the ref that "put" one second back on the clock when the 3rd qtr. ended was the same moron that lost the big 12 championship game vs. texas that hosed us over with that very same screw over. maybe they need to review the rule book one more time

I never missed this announcer. The one that tries to make funny sayings that he can’t figure out.

Nebraska QB could not pass. Receivers couldn't catch.

Mccant could throw. He was a real dual threat qb which was a little ahead of its time in cfb at that time. Defiantly a very good qb.
