I like to give ppl gifts of rooted cutting of my plants they really admire. I do the propagating and they get a new plant that they’ve always liked.

I would add that when using the sulfa for pest problems, be very careful. I found out the hard way that I'm very allergic to sulfur, and broke out in a bad case of hives using it. Fun video! Thank you!

What great ideas! I hate the way big corporations tell us we don't really love our family and friends if we don't spend $1,000 each on their products for them at Christmas. 😠👎 For me it's all about spending the time together eating, laughing and relaxing. Any little thing is cheerfully received, especialky food treats to share. But I must admit these plant ideas are a treat, thank you 💖

Yes I’m the same way! You hit the nail right on the head IMO. My mom says I’m the hardest person in the family to shop for, and I say the same thing: usually when I want something, I just go out and get it! So it’s always stressful to create my list around the holidays 😭

I got a plant mat last year for Christmas as well as the scoops you showed per one of your favorites videos. I love both items! On my list this year is some grow lights that go into individual pots. I have some low light areas in my house that I would love to put plants in. Along the lines of the functional pest management gift, if you know that your giftee likes a specific soil mix, I think getting them a bag of that would be a great gift as well

Last year my poor, sweet husbeast got me a plant... that I had previously killed 3 times and had decided not to try again 😅 I tried so hard to keep it alive. Unfortunately it finally gave up last month 😂

@@tatted-plant-dad lol it's that fuzzy Purple Passion Plant. Gynura Aurantiaca... First I over watered it. The next one I under watered. The third was fine for almost a year. Then it said ✌️ Just kidding! ✌️ And died 😅

Also don't think it makes you a bad gift receiver to not want to be gifted random plants. Not quite as bad as getting you a pet you didn't ask for but still puts the burden of keeping something alive that you might not have wanted even if you are appreciative of the thought. I love gifting my sister props from my collection but I always ask first because I don't want it to be a burden or if I'm trying to surprise her with exactly what it is I'll ask for foliage or growth pattern preferences she's looking for. She recently decided she had enough pothos/vining plants and wanted a few possibly with variegation that grew more upright. I gifted her three babies, an Aglaonema Silver Bay, a Platinum Mist Peace Lily and a beautiful Pink Princess I was actually growing out to sell but couldn't part with. 😅

I don’t know if this would apply to everyone but I think plant books also make a great gift because not only can you educate yourself but they make great decor to fit into your plant displays:)

Those mushrooms are available at spring time in Michaels. I have so many and use them in my outdoor garden. So cute.
Out of all the plant videos with gift suggestions, yours hit the nail on the head. Every one of the ideas were perfect and something I would've wanted when I first got into plants. I love my Katchy. May I ask how long you leave the sulfur on your hoyas before rinsing it off. Thank you again for the video.

Love all these ideas! Practical gifts for planty folk will always be great - even if its weird we would be hyped for a bottle of sulphur 😂 Another nice idea might be a little set of fertliser, neem oil leaf spray and microfibre cloth to keep leaves clean and hopefully pest free.

Great list and actually the first one that I wholeheartedly agree with 🙈I know that gifting a planty person plants seems like the most obvious choice, but I personally do not like this either unless the other person knows exactly what I want. It's the same with pots that are very different from the ones I already have. (My collection is fairly big, so I keep all my plants in similar pots in order to reduce the messy/cluttered look of it.) That said, the scoop is definitely going onto my wishlist!

This is a great list! I gave my MIL a planty idea for me this year: I’ve been wanting to try pon, so I found an “intro to pon” box on Etsy that has a small bag plus a self watering planter! I obviously don’t know if I’ll receive it, but I thought it was a great idea since I’ve been wanting to try it but haven’t pulled the trigger to purchase myself :)
Love growing in PON! I have way better success than in soil because I'm an over-watering LOL. Can't over-water in pon.

You could make a list of worst gifts for a plant person. My number one nightmare would be a plastic plant (or some other fake plant).

I'm not sure about these ideas. I like minimalistic style and wouldn't like to have a lot of gadgets around me.
Things like mate, cup, mushrooms, pendants... Also another scissors or watering can. If I have one, for what I need second?
I'm not telling these are bad ideas.
I'm simply saying that not everyone will be happy with that gifts.
