  • We decided to test a KIND LED vs a chinese LED. The Kind LED has a much better colour spectrum but the chinese LD is more powerful.

    I bought a cheap amazon LED, works great.
    Same leds as more expensive brands actually.
    People never look at the parts used but always just the brand. And when they see 'china' they suddenly think its bad. Thats why people still buy iPhones and Samsungs..

      random videos of my life
      look for a led panel and go by the power draw to find the best one for your money. They list them as '1000w model' but the actual draw is like 100watts or something small. Mine is a '1000watt model' and it is doing well for the £55 I paid. It only draws 120watt or so but its bright and is supposedly full spectrum so it works for veg and flower but id beef up the flowering lights as just this one led is lacking a little bit.

    kind led is chinease, just rebranded, first kind was made by cidly Apollo or bysen/bysheng leds, the ``new`` k5 xl750 and xl1000 is made of xallstar leds and COSTs only 550 dollars compared to kind, you can even get kind printed on the lights if you want just like the Shady KIND LED DOES..

      zawahra7 If you want a China LED then get one with good COBS. If you are determined to buy China LED's then look up Geyapex Solo. Geyapex has a website you can order from. They use Cree, and Citizen Cobs. A lower cost cob but at least they are good quality.
      Personally i would buy HID lights like HPS, or MH instead of the China LED's....If you are going to buy good top of the line LEDs then go with PLC, HLG, Fluence, or ChilLed.
      Or you can buy a DIY COB kit from Cutter electronics, or Timber grow lights.

      You tell a lie, in fact, 80% led grow lights in America are from China, can you show us your workshop in America ? If you make it in America, the price is not affordable for common people. We have to tell truth to all our clients. Even if you use cress , Citizen, etc, but if do not manufacturing in China, no way. Right now , Even hard for Chinese factory to make money. they go to India to open factory, how can you make it in America ? where is the difference ? Phillip also make lights in China, why people buy it ?

    Just because 2 nearly identical products in appearance are made in china does not mean that they are equal. Many legitimate companies make quality products out of china, but unfortunately due to the lack of intellectual property laws in china, those original products are always bootlegged and made cheaper by those outsourced factories by cutting corners, using cheaper materials, not understanding the science, and all the research and development that went into the original idea. They flood the market with crap which then confuses the consumer because they then assume that all chinese made products are garbage, which most of it is. It all just comes down to doing the research into the companies that truly understand what it is they're making. They may cost more, but that is because quality control comes at a cost.

    You want to compare 300w vs 600w and you are using the same space, same amount of plants... You have no clue what you are doing... like 99 percent of the rest... You need to compare 300w 3 ft by 3 ft full of plants vs 600w (4x4 -5x5) ft

    You deserve a response. We had issues that I would put down to QA where 'Actual Watts' was not actual watts. We spoke to kind and have returned all our units. I have to be fair to kind, who were very good to deal with and quickly and efficiently rectified the situation. Unfortunately we have no option but to remove the Kind LED's from our store.
    Although the K5 units seemed to be unaffected by this QA issue we couldn't offer a product that we wished to put our names to.
    At this point we stock no LED's.

    All these different companies are just trying to get in on the grow cow. I have 2 Chinese sol gro lights I paid 150 each. They are 1000 watt, or that's what they claim. But let me tell ya, I'm pulling 3/4 to 1 lb plants in tent from these, they are actually Alibaba. Yes there ARE about 4 or 5 GOOD lights out there that will out pull these Alibaba . But for 1000 bucks each. Hell I'm disabled, on fixed income. I can't afford to spend 1k a light for a few more grams or oz per plant. I've had these two, plus a crew cob all from Alibaba, and spent about 500 bucks for all 3. Don't let these companies do you, cause that's exactly what they will do. Just like Harley Davidson, says American made. BULL SHIT they are assembled in America. Pull the heads off and look in casing, Says made in Pakistan, or Indonesia. These companies need to stop lying to us all. Myself, when these wear out, I'm going back to my hps and mh cmh, and stick with what, I know is true. All a money game. I'm trying to grow my medicine, and gonna go with what I can afford. PERIOD........

      Carlos Paul I bought a populargrow 300 watt led with 3w diodes ( honestly imo 3w are better than 5w, 10w are the shittiest) in august 2015 its been used through 4 cycles, around 4000 hours and still works great, plus its as bright as it was when I got it, at least that I can tell. The cheap Chinese LEDs sure maybe 10% break (if you do your research and get decent ones, because if you get shitty ones they can have like a 30% failure rate maybe even higher) before they are supposed to but they are only 60 bucks, you can't expect to get platinum led quality when you can literally buy 6 lights for the same price as one platinum.

    • @xGaMErZzZPrOx
      @xGaMErZzZPrOx 7 лет назад

      Carlos Paul but yeah that account is definitely fake lmao , there are a ton of fake reviews for a lot of the LEDs too you gotta watch out for them, they are usually pretty easy to spot though. especially when they don't have fluent English, and they just say "wow! great led, works, and better than all the other ones" that's when they give it away

    • @xGaMErZzZPrOx
      @xGaMErZzZPrOx 7 лет назад

      Carlos Paul well I have 4 panels now, about to order another 2 on top of that, so I'll do an update on how they turn out. I'm gonna take a wild guess though and say that its most likely all of them will work fine for at least a couple thousand hours, if anything maybe one will fail. And saying that "real" leds are super expensive so the cheap ones must be shit is like saying "real headphones" cost 1000 dollars so the 200 dollar ones must just be shit, of course they won't be as good as the more expensive ones but that doesn't mean that everything cheaper is just shit. LEDs aren't complicated machinery . no matter who makes them, they are just chips on a board with a heatsink and some drivers, they aren't difficult to make, they don't have a lot of parts. platinum LEDs and up are just overpriced to hell. even if they give off 2x the performance of these 60 dollar LEDs, it still isn't worth it IMO. and the 10% is based on the real reviews I was reading, not my own personal experience. and plus, most people who get a good product don't leave reviews, but almost EVERYBODY who gets a bad product leaves a review so you also have to take that into consideration.

    • @xGaMErZzZPrOx
      @xGaMErZzZPrOx 7 лет назад

      Carlos Paul these Chinese companies don't over clock their diodes 😂😂😂, I have no idea where you got that idea from. that's why they have "real watts". that's why 300 watt LEDs only use 140 watts, each 3w diode has about 1.3-1.5w running through each, or if you have 5w diodes they have 2-2.5w running through them. and where did I say that the cheaper ones were as good as the expensive ones? I didn't.

    I bought Mars Hydro lights and in under a year they all have major issues, whole panel of LED's burn out, power supply problems, one of the lights had broken fans in it, circuit board melted, the worst is the company gave me the run around, had me send the lights to some joker had already determined without opening the light, that they were unfixable and it was my fault, The company gave me every excuse and tried to blame me, they say something and then change their minds, they even admitted its their fault but still refuses to honor their warranty. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Made in China ! You get what you pay for !!!! cheap price cheap lights !!!

      I'd say neither at this point. We had a faulty Kind LED vs a monster veg LED that made masses of burnt leaves. I doubt all the distance from canopy figures that we had, the LED's would be best high up or on a light rail IMO.
      I think the answer is CFL as far as you can then HPS, unless you have the height to go with LED. We will be testing COB's later in the year from an Irish Manufacturer!

Just like cob technology that's why there are cob units that are $100 and there are cob units that are $1,000 because the same thing applies there in terms of the quality of the cob used. I was building LED lights 15 years ago while I was getting my degree in electronics technology so I would say I'm more than familiar with this thanks for the response my friend and happy growing

      15 years ago LED tech was nothing so who cares what you did? You could have been building light brights for all I know. You think that's going to impress me? Nope, it impresses yourself which really does nothing. Mental masturbation. It's always funny when people try to use their "experience" in technology. Technology changes and what you knew a few years ago isn't even worth anything now. I don't give a damn what you did 15 years ago COB tech is today. And no there aren't $100 cob units and $1000 cob units that take the same power and are different "bins" you obviously don't know a whole lot about them.
      You're putting words in my mouth as well so you obviously don't even understand what I said. I don't have time to educate you on the many things wrong with what you just said (with your self righteous attitude and false sense of knowledge I doubt it would help) and you're not paying me to do so. Cheers bud.
