This light was as expected, basic, easy and cheap. Are there better? Sure. Are there worse? Definitely. It did a good job for what it is, a cheap starter light or add on to an existing space. My concerns would have to do with longevity just like any of these cheaper LEDs. This is not a light to keep forever. This is a light to buy for your first grow and upgrade after a few runs. Sure it has a warranty but do you really want to be sending your light in mid flower? I think not. So just like any of these cheap amazon lights you get what you pay for. It's a decent light for the money but if you want to spend more money you will get a better light. It's that simple.
Thank you for what you do.
I would say this light is junk like most Amazon grow lights.
What readings would you have wanted to see the light meter?
Thanks was actually really interested in this light. Now I know I can spend my hard earned money better elsewhere. Try and get the GL-1000 to test. I have the light but no par meter.
@@kevinisbell1867 there isn’t much for the money you’re going to get better than this output wise. Bang for the buck on the cheap end this one tests well. How long it will last is the question since it’s older tech. But cheap lights aren’t meant to last you forever, just until you can upgrade.
Ive been running this light 24/7 now for about 6 months just for keeping mothers under and so far im very impressed doesnt get hot and keeps working knock on wood and the plants seem to like the light. if i was to use for flowering i would want 3 more in a 3x3 preferably
ive been looking at a lot of your amazon videos.. and this light x 2 seems like a prettty damn legit budget option for 2x4 . better than the mars 2x4 . Im either going this or some of those cheap 100$ 6 cob unit ones... thanks for all these videos. its very informative especially with distance from plants.
Fantastic video, very well done. Thanks. I grow my plants with 2000 wts lights from China i normaly pay 25/30£ and i get good yelds. I have a Mars 1000 paid a fortune and can't see any advantage from. Kind regards from UK
I got one of those hygrometers as a freebie with my 4x4 tent and it had a freakin probe on it, I really like the probe. How come you never test at one of the heights they list to see if their manual matches up with your meter? Actually looks like a decent light for a 2x2 if you don't want to buy HLG or an Alibaba quantum board.
Yea it could definitely make things happen in a 2x2.
Take that POS glass panel off the front of it and it's efficieny can go up by possibly 10% or so
The strain I'm growing foxtails when the light intensity is too much. I purchased one of these awhile back to fill in the canopy. At first it was set to 14", but the light, in combination with the others had the girls foxtailing. 16 to 18 inches seems to be working well.
This manufacturer doesn't have a website and I still cannot find any specifics on the smd's. For the ppfd it does put out, in comparison to quiet quantum boards in this category, it seems less efficient, though less expensive to purchase. It runs cool, so cool that I would suggest changing out the two 80mm fans for one 92mm. The fan noise is insignificant in a separate grow space such as another room etc., but I could see it bothering me if my grow tent was in my bedroom or living room. After free shipping, this arrived at my door 3 DAYS EARLY for $120. cdn.
Thanks for the info. Yea the fan is a bit loud for sure.
Nice review man!
I was able to use amazon LEDs for my last season. The MaxBloom lights I picked up weren’t exactly cheap, but they weren’t the high end either. I was hoping to grab a build kit to put some together, although I couldn’t justify the prices to my wife. After a bunch of looking, I figured these would work, and I could replace any of the LED panels that went out. After 8 solid months of running them, they are still producing plenty of light for what I needed.
Let’s just say the wife understands now why I was aiming high, and the price was completely justified. Now that it’s cool enough to run them again, they both fired up just fine, and are rocking out plants once more, without ruining my electric bill. Until outdoor season is back, I plan on running them to death (and rebuilding). They definitely have paid for themselves a few times over. Pulling enough for my personal use, plus some for donating every few weeks was great for me.
It’s nice to see some honest reviews on these things, rather than advertising for sponsors.
Thanks! I get sent these lights for free but I am not afraid to call dogshit by its name. This one wasn't too bad actually. Nothing like what you can get from rapidled, hlg, or spider farmer but it's also cheaper. Wait til you see the next amazon review, the light is complete GARBAGE. It's laughably bad.
Looks. Like a decent. Light. I'm looking for one in a 2x2.. Great videos Keep them coming
I bought and returned it because it runs way too hot. 2x2x4 tent and I was getting 30 degrees. Replaced with the mars hydro ts1000 which was a couple degrees cooler and I exchanged it for a spider farmer sf1000 and it far cooler then both. That unbiased and unpaid truth lol
hchaves27 i originally was thinking about the spider farmer. @cannabeard got one a while back an it looked awesome an then right shape I’m looking for.
Too hot? If this light is getting to hot you have jack shit for ventilation lol. You can clearly see in the video it does not run hot and it's low wattage. That being said the spider farmer SF1000 was a better light. But honestly you should be able to cool ANY of the 3 without issues especially in a 2x4 tent. None of those lights are even enough to fill a 2x4 let alone over heat it.
SF1000 is hard to beat for the money and performance. BUT it's also quite a bit more money. You get what you pay for most times.
Good day Justin: I need advice, I just finished harvesting a Durban strain and got 98 grams off 1 plant. The colour of the tricomes are cloudy and smells fruity but the buds are airy, just not very dense. I've upgraded to the mars 250 for my flower tent, but turned it down to 150 watts. I like the product but I would like it to be denser. Any advice would help or is this to be expected from indoor grows? As always thx from all of us out here who appreciate everything you do for us👍
Durban is sativa, sativa usually has more airy buds. Grow an indica. Also don't turn down a light for flower and make sure you're not under feeding. You want tons of light and proper nutrients.
Justintime2grow I'm afraid if I turn the mars 250 up it would burn, if you think I should turn it up should I go all the way? If not how high for flower?
in a 2x4 i veg with it at 150w for flower I would turn it up. Probably 18" off the canopy.
Justintime2grow thanks for advice
Honestly I'm surprised you don't have a go pro yet bro. It would make everything wayyy easier for the videos and you can use 2 hands lol....unless you only have 1 hand, I only have 1 foot so I feel you lol
Nice review. Can you review the x6 cob 300 watt say (1800) we all know it’s 300 by Haofo blue shell thnx
I review things that are offered to me, if you want to ask them to send it feel free. I'm not putting my money on any of these lights just to see if theyre shit or not lol.
I’ve got 2 of the lights had for 4 years and still going strong in my germination. Tent
I hava a vipraspectra 900w and it’s surprising really efficient and I got some powerful yields from it.
Noemad Z. Oh man, are you saying inefficient by the energy consumption ?
@@willdelarosa8238 YES!!! Viparspectra sucks big time!!! They used to be called Vipar Led at first but they rebranded their name. THEY SUCK FOR TWO MAIN REASONS... First off they have a garbage spectrum with VERY little red in it. Yeah it'll grow plants but the buds would've been much bigger if you used a different light. And the second reason is because it is extremely inefficient as far as energy consumption goes! Just check out this video for proof: m.ruclips.net/video/Awjm-Y0en74/видео.html
@@NoemadZ. shane is a Mehezi fan boy. I've had both and the PAR 600 blows away even the 900 Mehezi. Marshydro Mehezi aka spiderfarmer is made by the same company along with viparspectras GalaxyHydro philizon Aglex growstar neililio rolando just to name a few they are made by Shenzhen lighting Corp. I had the orginal spiderfarmer ES dimmable blurple. Blurple lights work great they've been doing it for more than a decade now. Kind black dog cirris just to name a few. There's thousands of youtube videos to prove me point blurple lights work.
And look up some the dense danky colas pulled by viparspectra and compare to flawed designed of Mehezi when the break down or diodes burn. Everyone thinks it's all about the light. You can have the best light there is but if your environmental conditions arnt on point and fed and watered when needed you won't grow Jack shkt. Light is just 1 thing of many you need that are just as important..
@@NoemadZ. you're just a shity grower. Thousands of RUclips videos prove you wrong. My 1st grow off 2 PAR 600s and 2 r300 472 grans dry.. Thst was 5 years ago. You're prolly of the guys who veg for 3s of photperiod
Hey Im setting up a 6.5 high grow tent by 4 feet wide and 8 feet long but on a budget of about 1100 no fans or lights yet, not sure if i should use LED because of height and budget
How high would you recommend leaving this above seedlings?
I mean it says 500 at 18" on the site so its accurate to what they claim.
Yeah at least that part is accurate lol.
How much did this light cost ?
Always enjoy your videos...your cloning tips are spot on! I do have a question about your rapid leds and especially about the cone shape reflector vs a 90d. optic lens or no lens at all...particular for cree CXB3590 cobs. Your opinion whats more efective...cone, with lens or no lens?
If u get a chance please drop the GrowStar to 12" to compare grow area range... thanks Justin!
Its not worth it as I explained in the video. It's already too hot in the middle.
@@Justintime2grow Oh that's right.... sorry
@Justintime2grow
do you have the device that measures the wattage of the lamp?
Get yourself a COB or QB kit for under 300w and
Umar Nasir yeah ok....that’s only like 4x the price. Great advice....that’s like telling someone shopping for a Chevy they should just buy a Mercedes. 🤦🏻♂️
Good info have you done a review of amazon inlinefan and filters I have one and not impressed to loud and doesn't scrub odor properly
What is that meter called ?
So helpful ...thank lots brother.
.....
what is the possible grow space for a 1000w led? 3x3 or 4x4?
2x2
Hey bro test the mars hydro sp6500. If you can get them to send you one
I have a 4800 to test and they’re sending a 3000. Also going to give away a 3000. Eventually 6500.
@@Justintime2grow yeah looks to be pretty much a beast of a bar light. Probably leaning more towards the commercial side of things. I'm sure you have seen it. This what you do. And we appreciate what you do.
Can you do the famurs models ?
Hey do u have any old grow lights
@big_doobie_ on insta
I have lots, to save for future projects and channel giveaways.
What would be cool if u could calculate the PPFD/W and put em in the video ^^ cuz i and probably more other people care bout that ^^.. if its not too much afford for u ^^
I just ordered this light to supplement my SF2000 in my 3x3 grow tent
@@MrDmadness I can't complain. I think it was an good addition to my tent. Good call on having one sideways I might try that out.
Awesome. ✌
Nice Vid!!
I have to spend a bit more to get a bit more
You from Canada ? You Sound just like this guy from my local hydro store lol
Nope lol
Think id have to pass on this one.
I will never buy this type of chip light again not even 2 full auto runs and burnt out chip's smh
I could build you 5 of those lights for less than that one cost..
Yeah ok sure bud. 😂
