PLEASE use sunblock everywhere, but esp. on all tattoos - not just colored one. A close friend worked in the medical field for yrs and she saw so many ppl w/ sun cancer tumors the exact shape and size of the tats. Something about the melanin. Idk. But skin cancer is so serious, its not just something fair skinned ppl have to worry about. Every skin color can get it & you don't need to use a tanning bed to die from it. And if it sounds like I know ppl who have had it, you'd be right. Pls be careful.
Rebekah Navarro Yes you are right, but especially if you are fair skinned you are more at risk to get skin cancer. Darker people like myself have more tolerance to the sun because of melanin; therefore, they tan easier. This is why pale people usually get sunburns and freckles.
Jeffrey Rohan Yeah I agree. I have olive skin and don't rly burn. I wish I'd used it when I was young bc now I have sun damage at 41. So far no skin cancer, but better safe right?
Rebekah Navarro I use sunblock all the time, well, when I remember I carry sunblock in my bag and wear long sleeved shirts and pants and I have a parasol I use sometimes. I wish I knew where to get UV protective clothing, I'm really fair and I sometimes can burn through my clothes
Jeffrey Rohan While what you say may or may not be true, it's a fact that more African Americans die from skin cancer than other races due to the fact that an abnormality such as a dark mole that looks rough around the edges, is harder to notice on dark pigmentation than lighter pigmentation.
Jane Dean ultrabalm by lush is pretty similar and is amazing for tattoos as well! I use it's a moisturizer while healing , it's vegan and there's only 3 ingredients and it's unscented too :) wonderful for stretched ears as well
I love unrefined cold-pressed Coconut Oil, It works amazing and you can buy a huge jar for $8.00 depending where you live. Also Tattoo Goo Lotion and Color Guard Stick SPF 30 is amazing, all dermatologist tested and has essential oils in their products to rejuvenate the color of the tattoo.
i love your channel, but you should never really put essential oils on your skin, especially lavender oil, since it's highly phototoxic (makes your skin more prone to sun damage) it kind of does the opposite of what you're trying to do argan, jojoba and coconut are perfectly fine though
lavender isn't phototoxic- you might be thinking of an allergic reaction. mainly citrus oils are phototoxic/photosensitive. but yes, you should usually not use essential oils directly on your skin without first diluting them in some sort of "carrier oil" such as coconut oil. some oils like lavender, rose, and chamomile are typically considered safe for undiluted skin use, but honestly, i'd still dilute them anyway because they're soooo concentrated and they're made up of molecules so small that they can easily enter the bloodstream.
I always get comments at work about how bright my half-sleeves are(people always ask me if I keep having touch ups lol). I exfoliate about 3 times a week, in addition all the tips mentioned in the video. One of my favourite moisturizers is shea & cocoa butter baby lotion mixed with a couple cap fulls of body oil... it's amazing and smells lovely as a bonus! :)
Essential oils are different from cosmetic oils, definitely don't put pure essential oils on your skin! They're really strong and can cause a major reaction! They're just for making your house smell nice :) but the oils you showed here were fine for skin, no problem.
essential oils are ok in a carrier oil but you still have to take note of precautions. citrus isn't good if you're out in the sun. always follow instructions, but Def don't use them neat!
I myself have two full sleeves and I shave my arms as well. Yes, I'm a guy who shaves his arms. Lol, but the tattoos really look THAT much better. Question: What would you recommend for a shinier look for the tattoos/arms?... I like using Aquaphor, also I have a spray on coconut oil moisturizer that works incredible.
You see of online pics where guys have these incredible tats. The area is shaved so the artist can work and 2 inches away its VERY hairy. Maybe I'm just a weirdo, but I'm the kind of person that thinks "Oh, you are going to start shaving the whole area, aren't you?" Even in black and gray, what's the point in dropping $$$$ to put art on yourself, then ruin the effect if you're hairy?
Have you tried coconut oil? My tattoo artist recommended it cause it keeps your skin moisturized, has uv protection and makes your skin soft. Tell me what you think and if you have tried and and think something is better, cause I want the best for my tattoos ^_^
Omg, I’ve never thought about shaving my arm to make my tattoo look a little better. Could an electric or battery operated shaver work as well, or would a razor most likely be the best option?
As I guy I actually do all three. Ever since my first I've been diligent about UV protection and using sun screen. Any outside work I'd wear pants to protect my legs (Ive got two calf and two thigh tattoos) and now I'm wearing a long sleeve when mowing grass since I'm working on my tattoo sleeve. The heat sucks but I'd rather prevent skin aging and faded tattoos if I can. I may go as far as arm shaving one day but probably when my sleeve is complete. I do trim it back though else it'd be way too much. I've been leg shaving/waxing for a few years already. Mostly because it gets out of control and it's hard to feel clean when you seem to genetically be part bear. I've kinda given up about dealing with what's considered "normal" and just go with it. There's many reasons why (tattoos look much better, easier to apply lotion and sunscreen, easier to wash, less sweating, and overall just feeling cleaner). I also use some kind of almond oil for freshening them up. It's shocking how well they work. Helps make blacks appear darker too.
I feel like other tattooed people laugh at me, im constantly rubbing oils and lotions on my tattoos. But im two years out and all my tattoos look almost as fresh as when i got them.
I know I'm late to the party, but I just recently got this product from the LUSH UK website called Elbow Grease and it's worked wonders on my tattoos. I use it after shaving or exfoliating my tattoos when I get out of the shower and it really brightens them up! The only downside is that the international shipping fee is a bit pricey.
honestly i dont go outside that much. from home to school/work or if i do go out with friends its when the sun is setting or at night. and i cant remember the last time i went to a park. so i dont use sunblock. only times i do is at the beach. but i might start wearing some just because i live were its sunny all year around
I was scrolling quickly and for some reason my brain read this as '3 tips for a brighter future'?!?! Is this my subconscious trying to tell me something? :o
I work graveyard and if I'm out during the day, I avoid the sun as much as possible. lol. I've found drinking water and lotion have worked wonders on my older tattoos. I usually use a child's sunscreen spray that applies clear and haven't seen it damage my clothes. Obviously everyone is different and love advice about tattoos and aftercare.
If you want to walk out with an umbrella by all means have no shame walk that umbrella anywhere you want to go. :3 YUP. Wear something with a hood a hat layers everywhere rain or shine! That's my motto! We should all go for it!!!!!! Because it could rain and then you'd be ready for it too! They'll get plenty of Backlash alright if they ask or w/e.
Oh no, I’m also planning on getting a tattoo that has orange, yellow, and green in it. I’m gonna have a lot of fun trying to remember sunscreen this summer😅
Hi, I got a doubt , can I depilate my tattoos using just cream? Does It damage my tattoos? I'd also like to know if I can use laser without damaging them
Ive seen your videos about how you heal your tattoo and the mention of the sunscreen like chapstick made me think, have you used chapstick on your healimg tattoos? I do and I really like it. I use it on my tattoos and evwn burns, deep cuts, other injuries. Its very healing.
What brand of ink are they using on your tattoos? That also makes a huge difference in the quality of tattoos, as do so many other variables. Great advice, btw.
literally have put lipbalm with sunscreen in it on my finger/inner wrist tattoo when i forget. I keep it in my car, so it's usually with me when i'm gonna be out.
i got my first tattoo in sep and my second one in jan and they are like gray and fuzzy :( she only told me to clean it when i first took the wrapping off and then grape seed oil for moisturizer and now they look ruined :((
I use sunscreen with spf 30 pretty much every day when its sunny but now after 3 years the yellow in one of my tattoos is nearly gone. Is 30 not enough ? Should I upgrade to spf 50 ? Any ideas ?
Use the highest SPF you can find and afford. The more the better! My tattoos are nearing 40 years old now, and still look pretty rad for an old fart -- about 90% covered. Blues, purples, greens, and black are really impressive; sadly the yellows and reds have been mostly absorbed. I believe the newest inks have great potential for lasting even better, but most importantly, use your sunscreen everyday whether or not the sun is shining, all year long. Thirty years from now you won't regret taking care of your skin.
i think with red and yellow inks its not even all about the sunscreen. the pigments tend to get absorbed by the body over time. I have a tattoo of 6 solid colored circles. All of them healed great, except the yellow. the yellow dot has some spots where the ink didnt take at all, none of the other dots have this issue. (the green and blue dots look the best still several months out)
I made the dumbest choice to put spray spf 50 on a fresh tattoo. it wasn't till that night my muscles actually hurt!. Found out Sun Screen was a No No until my tatt totally healed, hence Open Wound!..Uhggggg. Needless to say my tattoo has taken a whole month to heal...😫
David A.P. pimples can make your tattoo not settle properly, sometimes the ink will just go around it and you'll have a blank spot where the pimple was in the center of your tattoo. Its best to have fully healed and as smooth as possible skin before getting your tattoo, but always ask your artist before anything! The internet doesn't always know everything😊 good luck!
+marriah smith (bbyowls) I know I'm not her, but personally I use sunscreen as soon as the sun comes out, like from march to september i pretty much wear sunblock on my tattoos! I'm using clear aloe vera gel to brighten my tattoos. Works like a charm!
timsku1 did u use it when your tattoo heeled
Crystal beauty you can buy the plant at Publix or whoever they sell it and cut it open
I thought aloe will fade your tattoo
@crystal beauty u can use Vaseline also
Wal mart??? What the name??? Clear alone gel???

Rebekah Navarro Are you sure sunblock isn't the thing that causes cancer.
Rebekah Navarro Yes you are right, but especially if you are fair skinned you are more at risk to get skin cancer. Darker people like myself have more tolerance to the sun because of melanin; therefore, they tan easier. This is why pale people usually get sunburns and freckles.

Lush "Elbow Grease" is great for brightening tattoos
Amen, it's a must have
I use it and its amazing. it isn't vegan thought due to beeswax absolute but if you are not vegan its amazing
Jane Dean ultrabalm by lush is pretty similar and is amazing for tattoos as well! I use it's a moisturizer while healing , it's vegan and there's only 3 ingredients and it's unscented too :) wonderful for stretched ears as well
How do you use it? While healing or after and how often?
well rip
I swear by sunscreen sticks, I always keep one in my bag. They're so handy for carrying around and there's no risk of them spilling in your bag.
I'm a guy and I feel hairy tattoos look horrible. I shave my left arm without a second thought. also use lotion on my tats.
I have blonde hair so I'm good on the shaving
@@bobjoe7707 Why do people think blonde hair is not visible? Actually it's much more visible on the sun than dark hair.
Just trim ur hair really short man, with a number 1 on clippers, what I do.
YOUR TATTOOS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love them so much, they all fit together so nicely, I love the style and all of the dark reds
I love unrefined cold-pressed Coconut Oil, It works amazing and you can buy a huge jar for $8.00 depending where you live. Also Tattoo Goo Lotion and Color Guard Stick SPF 30 is amazing, all dermatologist tested and has essential oils in their products to rejuvenate the color of the tattoo.
wow I've never seen tattoos that bright and colorful you really do know how to take care of yourself.
Great tips. I get get tired of getting advice from ppl who have tats that don't look good lol. Urs look amazing!
i love your channel, but you should never really put essential oils on your skin, especially lavender oil, since it's highly phototoxic (makes your skin more prone to sun damage)
it kind of does the opposite of what you're trying to do
argan, jojoba and coconut are perfectly fine though
Julia Mozokhina even dabbing on the pulse points of your skin?
I thought only citrus oils were phototoxic?
lavender isn't phototoxic- you might be thinking of an allergic reaction. mainly citrus oils are phototoxic/photosensitive. but yes, you should usually not use essential oils directly on your skin without first diluting them in some sort of "carrier oil" such as coconut oil. some oils like lavender, rose, and chamomile are typically considered safe for undiluted skin use, but honestly, i'd still dilute them anyway because they're soooo concentrated and they're made up of molecules so small that they can easily enter the bloodstream.

essential oils are ok in a carrier oil but you still have to take note of precautions. citrus isn't good if you're out in the sun. always follow instructions, but Def don't use them neat!
Beverly Martin can you use argan oil or coconut oil on them ? And if so how many times should you apply it?
You can buy wash-in UV protection additives for your clothes. I've used them, and they're great, as it adds protection to clothes you already own.
bless I didn't know this, I'll look into it
This is so cool!
I would recommend using 100% pure Shea butter.

Haha I know what you mean. It's like they only shave the tattooed but it seems a little wasted to let the hair grow back over the tattoo.
dude if youre that hairy you have other issues
L
I always reach for oil when my tattoo is looking dull. Even Palmers skin therapy oil worked great.
Yeah shaving your arms or any spots you have tattoos make them look so good !
Have you tried coconut oil? My tattoo artist recommended it cause it keeps your skin moisturized, has uv protection and makes your skin soft. Tell me what you think and if you have tried and and think something is better, cause I want the best for my tattoos ^_^
Your sleeve looks awesome...Nothing like a vivid artsy tattoo.
Omg, I’ve never thought about shaving my arm to make my tattoo look a little better. Could an electric or battery operated shaver work as well, or would a razor most likely be the best option?
Qcknd my saviour! I just got 2 new tattoos and this video couldn't have come at a better time xx
Nice video and your tatto is just like a painting which is painted by world best painter
she talks very inspritional and knowledgable
Your tattoo ink and artist is perfect 👌
You're tattoos are crazy beautiful. I'm hopeful that one day you'll change your mind on doing a "Tattoo Tour" video... ^___^
Jojoba oil is so versatile - I use it to stretch my septum and ears, and it's great for my tattoos too. :-)
I also prefer body oil as a moisturizer! Alba botanica makes a great body oil that smells amazing!
As I guy I actually do all three. Ever since my first I've been diligent about UV protection and using sun screen. i'm currently using organic virgin coconut oil ! works fine for me, not that greasy.
My mom have tattoos and it really helped her!❤️❤️ she love your tattoo videos❤️
Woah, that oil really worked!
I love the sleeve. You got a new sub. Again LOVE IT.
I feel like other tattooed people laugh at me, im constantly rubbing oils and lotions on my tattoos. But im two years out and all my tattoos look almost as fresh as when i got them.
What type of oil and locations ? I’m black and I use a lot of moisturizing products but compared to my new tattoo my old ones look dull
Great advice. I do just about all u have said lol. Very cute too by the way. Great ink
it's looks so great your tattoos.
I moisturize mine all the time!! Keeps it looking so nice.
Those are some stunning tattoos. 💛
would coconut oil be good?
I'm a guy with hairy ass arms and i swear my tattoos look brand new after I trimmed down the hair
I was a lifeguard too, had to reapply sunscreen every 90 minutes.
honestly i dont go outside that much. from home to school/work or if i do go out with friends its when the sun is setting or at night. and i cant remember the last time i went to a park. so i dont use sunblock. only times i do is at the beach. but i might start wearing some just because i live were its sunny all year around

Its okay to pinched tattoo?
My tattoo is 2 month old sleeve
And someone pinched my wrist

My oldest Tats are 30 yrs old..very faded .was looking at tattoo pens to go over the colour but would like any other options.❤️
Thank u sister cauze of u now I can make my tatoo look new 😍😘☺😊😉👍👍✌
Hi, I got a doubt , can I depilate my tattoos using just cream? Does It damage my tattoos?
I'd also like to know if I can use laser without damaging them
you can't laser bc it will ruin the pigment of the tattoo but im not sure about the cream
Wat body oil was that

Your tattoos really are beautiful. I'm enjoying watching your videos!!
how about thayers toner( no alcohol) is it safe? or it can fades your tattoo?
What brand of ink are they using on your tattoos? That also makes a huge difference in the quality of tattoos, as do so many other variables. Great advice, btw.
I've been using these methods for awhile too!
Is it ok to use olive oil?
love your hair in this video.
super helpful tips too!
Pretty random question, but where did you get this shirt? I love the pattern/style.
I live in miami..another good sunscreen to use???
Can you use the oil and lotion/sunscreen at the same time?
Great info! Thanks for sharing!❤
Thanks for watching!
1. Shave hairy areas
2. Beware of the sun. Wear (stick) sunscreen or uv protective clothing
3. Moisturize. Oil based moisturizer recommended
Thanks for the tips . You are gorgeous
should i wrap it inside my house
literally have put lipbalm with sunscreen in it on my finger/inner wrist tattoo when i forget. I keep it in my car, so it's usually with me when i'm gonna be out.
I'm using virgin coconut oil but I feel little heat everytime i apply it..should i stop using it?
Your tattoos are perfect.
I use coconut oil to make my tattoos look better/brighter/fresher
I have cats that will come and sit on me and lick me and essential oils are really dangerous for them, what else would you suggest?
I think coconut oil would be ok for the cats. It's awesome for skin and hair 👍
maybe look up grape seed oil?
Aloe Vera gel works the best!!!
Love ur style and tattoos they look great on you . 👍
Regular pants do not protect the tattoo?
i got my first tattoo in sep and my second one in jan and they are like gray and fuzzy :( she only told me to clean it when i first took the wrapping off and then grape seed oil for moisturizer and now they look ruined :((
Can you leave links to the products that you use pls? I’d love to purchase

Thanks for your advice. Gonna go to the shop now and buy some more sunscreen :)

tell a name of hair removeval cream for boys..
I thought that sun screen faded the tattoos. That you needed a special one that's only for tattoos. Or can I just use any type? Thank you so much 🤗
Chubi lovesyou I think any type works
I want to brighten tattoos on my back but I don't want to use anything that will give me acne, any suggestions
damn girl, i LOVE your tattoos. you suit them so much xx
can i use castor oil?
Did you do a video on tattoo touch ups. Can’t find it :/
The old Qcknd is prettiest
I made the dumbest choice to put spray spf 50 on a fresh tattoo. it wasn't till that night my muscles actually hurt!. Found out Sun Screen was a No No until my tatt totally healed, hence Open Wound!..Uhggggg. Needless to say my tattoo has taken a whole month to heal...😫
I like the cobra and your spider. :-D. What about pimples? Can you still get pimples with tattoos? Seriously (quiet chuckle)
David A.P. Of course. At least I think so.
David A.P. pimples can make your tattoo not settle properly, sometimes the ink will just go around it and you'll have a blank spot where the pimple was in the center of your tattoo. in the summer my legs are just kinda open.... whoa there! Rofl
You are gorgeous, great tattoos by the way.
"How do you protect yourself from tattoos?" :')
Does it also help for word tattoos? I don't have color in my tat. I only have words.
Can help with clarity depending on how hairy your tattooed areas get.
I've found if I use Lubriderm with spf 15 everyday my tattoos stay super bright.
I like to use coconut oil and vitamin e lotion
Great tattoos
Awesome tips‼️ Thank you for the awesome vid✊
What camera do you use to film and what do you use to edit?
+Sheep Pusheen I have two videos dedicated to this, they're a few weeks back
Do you use sunblock on your tattoos year round, or just during the sunny months??
+marriah smith (bbyowls)
I know I'm not her, but personally I use sunscreen as soon as the sun comes out, like from march to september i pretty much wear sunblock on my tattoos! I winter (i live in germany) there is pretty much no sun, so I dont wear any. Plus theyre covered by clothes anyways :-) But I think it wont hurt to wear it year round :-)
