unbelievable run, this is with traffic, too. The first car made him hesitate, the second took the best line, and the third really added a little it of time to the run, he even had to slow down. I'd say the possibility for a sub 7:20 run exists
absolutely amazing!!!....the closest i have ever been to the nurburgring is in grand turismo...and even playing that amazing game mastering this course takes nerves of steel...and great concentration..i love the way he keeps the balance and momentum of the car consistent..gear changing and cornering is also great...he is a very talented driver...
This is great driving! Rickard Göransson is a high qualified driver from sweden. Too bad i didnt have a racing team :P This is skills, He have a 500hp Supercharged BMW M3 CSL without a GT rear spoiler! And the corner speed entry and exit is just to brilliant! A great driver :D

Probably a very long time. The Nurburgring is one of, if not THE most demanding and hardest track to master. However, it also serves as a great place for manufacturers to tune their cars before making them for production.
Amazing job. Just think how much better it would be if it was a bit warmer and with no traffic. :D

actually, the absolute lap record around the track is 6:11.13. Set by Stefan Bellof in a Porsche 956 back in 1983.
That was extraordinary. No wonder it's got such a crazy sound, since it's the supercharged version.

Weight: 1427 kg, with driver and 30L fuel.
Engine: 3.2 liter straight six with 10,5:1 compression. Vortech watercooled supercharger, extra oilcooling, modified fuelsystem with catchtank.
Output: 532,71 rwhp / 0.85bar / 98 octane
Torque: 483,67 nm / 0.85bar / 98 octane
Driveline: 3:91 differential, sachs sinter clutchkit, 6-speed SMGII gearbox.
Brakes: AP Racing calipers, Performance Friction (PFC) discs and PFC racepads.
It's a Sport Auto lap which is used in every official timeattack on the Nordschleife. This is because during the industrypool testing the speed is limited to 50km/h between the two lines.

In fact, the real start/finish line is where the clock starts at 0:14. They stop the timer at the other line. So, you're right. The lap wasn't a complete one.

The stock CSL actually posted a time of 7:50 in the SportAuto supertest :). And if someone decides to attack the Nordschleife in a modified (street'ish) Vette Z06 or even the new ZR1 then more power to them imo. They are both extremely good cars.

It starts at the Nordscleife pit exit and ends at the pit entry which is the common non-BTG time mark points.

that would be fantastic.. perhaps you should add Donkervoort.. Michael Düchting has never driven their latest version of the D8 (D8 R06) at the Ring.. but he dominated the German Tuner GP with it in 2006 at the Hockenheim shorttrack setting a new laprecord

lol, i've lapped this track way too many times in GT4. I caught myself thinking about the line i would use during the video. There is at least 2 more seconds that could be taken off, Amazing car.

Driver don't push car to it's limits at all....uf, if I been on passenger seat I am pretty sure that my hearth don't survive this driving-)))))))))) This car is thrue evidence that power is nothing without control. Today car have to much weight....+6 for driver here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@MOTORMOUTH2009 It has a role cage and some weight savings though, it comes at ~1450kg but the roll cage stiffens the chassis. The suspension setup is also important and clearly they've got it right so it's not exactly off the shelf. You still need to get the car setup but I do understand what you mean, anyone can build a similar car.

Its 532 rwhp 3.2l i6 on racing fuel. It pretty much the best mods u can get for a bmw m3 csl still the fact that it beats a zr1 time by 4 sec with traffic is impressive for a I6 and an almost 8 year old design.

With no experience what so ever of the ring you will NEVER beat this time. The track is 20 km long. It takes years to learn and to make no misstakes, god luck.
A car set upp for any normal track will not work at all on the Ring. Everything is so completly diffrent + the track is werry bumpy.
But I say god luck. If you succed I will have to take my hat of for you
as the track looks now, yes.
there are faster laptimes from its racing days tho when the track looked slightly different, afaik no-one ever broke 7 mins but they were very close.

When you consider that Lexus claim internal Lexus LFA testing time of "better than 7:20" with a completely stock Lexus LFA, you can see that finally, Lexus did their homework concerning track speed, not just the usual comfort/reliability stuff. The price may be insane (as is the production run of just 250 vehicles), but it IS a FAST Lexus. E.g. the MUCH more expensive Veyron could VERY probably NOT beat the LFA at the Nordschleife (despite being faster at the Top Gear track, but LFA had it wet).

Well it has a new fuel system in it but your right it is 98(95 U.S) octane. So for people in the U.S its in between premium gas and racing fuel.

BTW: The car crosses the white line at about 9.7 s into the video and the timing only begins later, but stops at the white line. No matter what the local custom may be, whenever I measure a lap, I measure it between two IDENTICAL points - e.g. line-to-line in this case. The line-to-line time is about 7:37.8 - 9.7 s = 7:28.1. The local custom can be different (lap start line different from lap finish line), but it is NOT what you would call APPROPRIATE to claim that as a FULL lap. This is 98.8 %.

considering a z06 has that laptime completely stock, that's still not bad :) but this car is amazing, don't get me wrong.
truly amazing, scary thing is he could have gone quicker where traffic held him up. I need to get my CSL supercharged.....oh and a couple of driving lessons......

I haven't seen any article dealing with the Loaded BMW, my friend just told me you were going to crush the Nordschleife rekord and sent me this link. Is there any Swedish articles?
