After tour came to a halt in March 2020, it took a while to settle into a new pace. We found ways to play virtual shows, and through livestreaming we met one of our musical heroes, Kim Richey. Together we co-wrote Wildfire about the newfound isolation we were facing. In some ways, Wildfire is a metaphor for consequence. We didn't see it coming. For over 6 years of constant touring and moving through life at breakneck speed, we had worried about "getting there" instead of being present in the journey, and in the quiet we realized the extent of what we'd lost.
What we still had was 5 hard drives with 100+ hours of footage Charlie Steen and Jake Burgess captured while touring with us between 2015 - 2019. Looking back through the candid moments and memories with fresh eyes, we could see all the hugs, tears, laughter and connections that were a blur at the time. This video is a collection of that footage, set to a song that's hopeful about fertile regrowth in the future.

THIS IS SOOO UNDERRATED OMG
Love the new video and song! Aspen and I have only been going to music festivals, house concerts and listening rooms for a couple years before the pandemic hit. I didn't realize how much it had become not just part of our lives, but an important food for our souls. Thank god we had camping in the UP last year to help get us through the shutdown. We are looking forward to seeing all of you folky folks again in person soon. Take care! Thx, Ken
Great video you guys! Great song too! Can’t wait to see you all again!
You guys have it in you to have a top 10 hit. I wish more stations would play your music.

Outstanding video! Very haunting reflections of what we all were thinking for the past 12 months.
Thanks Len, that means a lot. This one was personal, ya know.
This is so beautiful. The chorus is such a heartfelt lamentation but somehow still conveys a twinge of hope and earnestness. Can’t wait to hear it live on the other side of the pandemic.
Love that you noticed this, thank you for listening!
I love everything about this song
This song is perpetually in my head. Every time I feel hard done by, lonely, tired and overworked, missing all of our old lives. I need to see this in a movie. If nothing else than to know other people will find it and appreciate it as much as I do. Love you guys.
Absolutely stunning!!
This music is so healing. I have really been struggling with the holiday this year and some losses. Thank you for the beautiful music you continue to create.
One of the most beautiful songs I heard It. Very emotional.

Such a beautiful song! Really makes me miss the times before coronavirus where you could be within six feet of one another. 😢
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!
And I knew what you were singing about even before I read the description. You guys are such an inspiration!
I didn’t know I was waiting on a Wildfire until y’all started teasing its release date. It was well worth the wait, though.
I've never been religious, but for me music is probably the closest thing. Listening to this and rocking in the waves of emotion & bliss I can't help wonder if this is how the devout feel. If so I guess I get it. Love this so much.
Hi All. I love this song. Great voice. Good vibe. Keep up the great work! Peace. Bobby Borg
Wow. Amazing. Great job from Traverse City Mi
Lyrics:
Ivy Climbs the walls and nestles in the brick
Sparrow builds a nest above the front door
The newest heartache’s on the radio again
Noone’s listening anymore
On Independence Day, we were driving through the hills
We were on our way to Bozeman
The reds and blues of fireworks in backyards lit the sky
We were so much greener then
Who knew we were drunk on borrowed time?
Waiting on a wildfire, who knew we were
Waiting on a wildfire, who knew we were
Waiting on a wildfire?
In late September, we’d just moved into town
We were on a mission lost and broke
Just as all the pieces started falling into place
All our plans went up in smoke
Who knew we were drunk on borrowed time?
Waiting on a wildfire, who knew we were
Waiting on a wildfire, who knew we were
Waiting on a wildfire?
Ivy Climbs the walls and nestles in the brick
Sparrow builds a nest above the front door
Over time the wildflowers find a way to bloom
Where only ashes were before
Who knew we were drunk on borrowed time?
Waiting on a wildfire, who knew we were
Waiting on a wildfire, who knew we were
Waiting on a wildfire, who knew we were
Waiting on a wildfire?
I searched for your music after hearing you on Mountain Stage. This is an amazing song and thanks for mentioning Montana. I am sure you have been here before and I look forward to seeing you live some day.

"We were on our way to Bozeman..."
Drunk on borrowed time...
Is that Rami Malek with Sav at 1:41 on the video?
I thought this was going to be a cover of the song about the pony
