I doubt many fans listen to the Accidentals but I had to come here after Michigan football won their 3rd straight big ten championship; Michigan and again and again
I'm Dutch, my wife is a Michigander, and we live in The Netherlands. Everytime we visit her family we listen to this in the car to the airport. A preperation for our arrival in our home away from home.
My favorite line...stay stay stay stay stay. My kids live in Michigan after going to CMU they moved away and both came back...Im in Illinois 🤨 I play this song when I drive out there again and again and again.
That would actually be wonderful. I think about my sacred state of Michigan every day but especially during the Holiday season. The early heavy snows in Berrien County used to both excite and depress me at the same time. I just always wished the snow would have melted right after Christmas instead of facing the harsh reality that winter had not even shown her ugly face yet. (Must be why I reside in Arizona), Oh Yeah! My boys in blue and maze just beat up Ohio State on their own front porch and thus far remain undefeated. GO BLUE BABY........unless of course, you're one of those blaspheming, unethical, backstabbing Spartan fans. In that case, bite me!!!!! Keep your stick on the ice.
I grew up in Traverse City, then had to live out of the state for many many years. I missed my home state EVERY DAY. So glad to be living back in TC again (and again and again!!).
A few years ago, I was facing having to leave my homeland of Michigan to stay in a [bad] relationship, but I heard this song and I swear, it helped my heart hear the truth. I stayed, stayed, stayed, stayed, stayed...and I am so happy and thankful I did. ❤ I've had the good fortune to be able to do a great deal of traveling in the world, but the more of the world I saw, the more I realized how special The Mitten truly is.
I lived in Vermont for several months and will be moving back later this year (school). This song brought tears to my eyes every time I heard it. I thought so heavily of the upper peninsula, traverse city, Mackinac island… i would sit in my car and my eyes would be so red. I loved the Green Mountain State, but home was where I left my heart behind. Recently I took trips to see my grandma in Frankfort, and my dad I visited the U.P., Mackinac Island, and my good friend in Alpena. Thank you for this song!
@The Paradox Destroyer .. When I lived there nearly 40 years ago, I biked M-22 from Beulah to Glen Arbor and back in the evenings after work. It is a heavenly place. I was lucky to have grown up there.
This song captures everything my daughter experienced during a 1-year exchange year in Michigan. Listend to this song in 2019 while I and my wife were backtracking the time of our daughter in this beautiful state. "Thank you" again for everyone in this state who made this an experience of a lifetime of my daughter!!
Often kinda wondered what people from afar actually thought about the sacred state of my birth. Especially now that the economy is teetering on the brink of disaster and a lot of the people have lost their minds. When I was young, Michigan made cars and a lot of the raw materials car parts were made from. Everybody was either unionized or worked for companies who competed for labor with Unionized shops. Now.....not so much. Plus, the snow just plain sucks.
I visited Michigan for the first time last week all the way from tn. By far all other states looked ugly in comparison to those 2. Michigan looked and felt like home, full of nature and beauty. this song came on the radio while I was there and it'll always bring me back there.
I use to take the opposite trip as a teenager on weekends to Tennessee and the same thing went through my mind about your state. But lets be honest. The trip involves driving through Indiana and Kentucky so I think we both can agree, the bar is set pretty low.
I love this, I'm from Michigan and I just moved to Australia. . . I cant wait till I get to go back again & again & again .. . . Thanks for a comforting and familiar song.
such a beautiful song... I love it because most of the time you hear songs about cali., Florida, New York, all those places... but then I see this, and it's about a state that's commonly forgotten or thought to be part of canada, and it makes me so happy a fuzzy inside because it's my home and I will always love it here, I'm happy someone show cased Michigan is a bright way for once... thank you
Today as I headed my semi south down US 31 I saw a ton of kayak ladened cars heading north, and I so wanted to turn around, grab the pickup & kayaks and head back myself. Then I heard this love song for Michigan, saw some Sandhill Cranes flying low over head... but, now I'm stuck inside Detroit with the Manistee blues again.
This song is reminds me of the 3 years I was in Michigan. I close my eyes while listening to this song and I literally smell the sweet summer Michigan air.
As a person who never wanted to leave but had to for school this song is amazing. Been gone 10 months and really missing home. But only 1more year till I’m home for good! Of course the lions almost go all the way when I’m gone 😂
03:45 made my heart catch. Childhood memories of exploring the woods and rivers near my home in Utica, MI. Thank you for this beautiful love letter to a great state!
It's this band having their own that is our own. I lived in St. Sault Marie for a year. I fell in love living there and experienced the state traversing it while my favorite band became the Tragically Hip. I connect with Lake Superior. My parents live off it in Wisconsin. The Accidentals connect.
From Chicagoland area and believe Michigan is our close to perfect destination... Then heard this song by this wonderful group of young people called "The Accidentals" ...WOW !!! This song nails it !!! I am so blessed to be so close to this wonderful coastline of beach towns and magical places that give hope and excitement that coming to this wonderful part of the country brings....THANKYOU
I am thankful every day that I was fortunate to grow up in Elk Rapids and even though I don't live in Michigan any more, my heart will always be there.
I’m not from Michigan, but PA (as we say it here). I’ve been to Michigan off and on since 1976 when I worked for a summer as a student engineer for CCI as a Yooper (about the time that there was a failed movement to secede from the mitten and become the state of Superior. From that point on, I’ve been there many times all for business which took me over much of the state. Always enjoyed the after business hours and some weekends from Traverse City to Holland to Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo to Coldwater to Detroit, Saginaw, Flint, Frankenmuth, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and countless smaller towns from south to north. This song catches the vibe that I felt visiting in all of those years. I can only imagine what it speaks to the Michigander (that’s what you call yourselves now, right?).
Born and raised in Walled Lake (Oakland County), transplanted to Traverse City in the early 1990s, have lived there ever since. This is a great love song to our state. I'll keep listening again and again and again and again and again. 😊
Lovely song about a beautiful state. I spend two year in A2 and have been back twice on vacation exploring places I never had a chance to during school.
This is one of my fav songs by you guys. I almost cry every time I watch it. It makes me happy to see people appreciating the most forgotten state. I will always love our little mitten and never wanna leave!!!❤️💖
Here I am again a year later crying loudly at 2AM, remembered I made this comment... Doesn't look like I'll be visiting home this year and every little thought about the bridge, lakes, sunsets, and trees just makes me sad. I really need to move back home for my own sanity...
I can’t get enough! I listen to this song multiple times a day! The Accidentals should be huge! I absolutely fell in love with all of your beautiful songs! They pull on my heartstrings the likes I have never experienced in my life! Dead Can Dance and Throwing Muses do similar to me so this fantastic band from Traverse City, Michigan are in good company (in my head)
I haven't been out of Michigan more than a three month period, and now moving to DC very soon. I'm going to miss Michigan, and TC, for all the great times, people, and places. Hope to make it back some day. Thanks for the great song!
my whole life i wanted to move to Michigan. now i am almost done with school and im so close to moving there, this song helps me see what ive been working so hard for!
I've been a fan of this band for about two years now and they constantly inspire and amaze me with all of the beautiful music they make, and even though I'll probably move sometime in the next few years I know I can listen to this and Michigan will welcome me home again.

OMG can you teach me how to do that with a cello.
Done! Xo
That is an awesome song. "and the conifers lining the driveway whispering Stay Stay Stay...
I grew up in Beulah .. how lucky I was.
This song makes me extremely homesick.
I doubt many fans listen to the Accidentals but I had to come here after Michigan football won their 3rd straight big ten championship; Michigan and again and again

Awww
@@TheAccidentalsmusic Well, thank you for the music that is a big part of our soundtrack :-)
As a Michigan native who adores The Netherlands this warms my heart
It whispers that to me every time I visit too...
"...whispering, 'Stay, stay, stay.'" I adore this song.
Bryce Hundley I actually meet them because they meet all the schools of Petoskey and I was in one of the front rows we asked them to play this song
My favorite line...stay stay stay stay stay. My kids live in Michigan after going to CMU they moved away and both came back...Im in Illinois 🤨
I play this song when I drive out there again and again and again.
I agree with you
Same
All we need now is for this to become the state song. This song is perfection, I don't know how else to express sweet home Michigan!
Canada light, more crime, less free healthcare but the same shitty winter weather. Still love my Michigan roots though.
Leathan Schluckbier this is my home state
It won’t. It’s that really old one from 1830s
That would actually be wonderful. I think about my sacred state of Michigan every day but especially during the Holiday season. @@patrickaalfs9584 As close as we can get without being Canada. We try :)
I grew up in Traverse City, then had to live out of the state for many many years. I missed my home state EVERY DAY. So glad to be living back in TC again (and again and again!!).
Here I am, revisiting this song, again and again, missing my love, Michigan. It tugs on my soul and will never leave me.

As a dad, thank you SO MUCH for capturing the treasure of a few days at the lake with the kids. This is a masterpiece.

Beulah MI. that is home, although I live in California now
@The Paradox Destroyer .. When I lived there nearly 40 years ago, I biked M-22 from Beulah to Glen Arbor and back in the evenings after work. It is a heavenly place. I was lucky to have grown up there.
Just great .. needs to be used in the Michigan tourist adds , Great song for my home state.
Michigan is my whole life if something where to happen to my home state I would cry

Every so often I have to get my fix of this song. Mitten love! ❤️ (Music teacher from West MI)
I visited Michigan for the first time last week all the way from tn. By far all other states looked ugly in comparison to those 2. Michigan looked and felt like home, full of nature and beauty. this song came on the radio while I was there and it'll always bring me back there.
marinecam Hey I'm glad you enjoyed visiting Tennessee is a great state as well
Welcome. Home. Peace.
I use to take the opposite trip as a teenager on weekends to Tennessee and the same thing went through my mind about your state. But lets be honest. The trip involves driving through Indiana and Kentucky so I think we both can agree, the bar is set pretty low.
Guess you haven't been to the Western states, full of mighty mountains, canyons and waterfalls.
Dave Oz True! Just try hiking in the cascades here in Oregon! So full of wonder
I love this, I'm from Michigan and I just moved to Australia. . . I cant wait till I get to go back again & again & again .. . .

That song made me cry, and I'm from Boston ... You have super powers.

+Alexis Norris Our state is truly beautiful and the only people who don't realize that are those who've never been here.
it is, freaking love this place.. till winter and even then i technically still do XD
Mazzy Black I used to live in marquette
I. for one am glad that Michigan's forgotten. Otherwise, it would fill up with people from Florida, New York and California.
This song is a true love letter to Michigan. I LOVE it repeat please. 😊
Such an underrated channel and song

Beautiful. Thank you.
Michigan, my home. And my heart.
Displaced Michigander here. Still go up often for a visit
As a Michigan expat, I just listened to this song 6 times in a row.
Puts into perspective what a beautiful state we have been able to enjoy. Love my big mitten.

By accident we caught The Accidentals ...in Michigan and they were playing this. Outstanding.

I just discovered this group from TCM. I am 71 and from Texas. What a joy. I may move to Michigan!!
Yes! Come north and bring that Texas sun with you!
This should be the new state anthem - great song!

This is so beautiful! So great to hear of a song, by a band, from my home state!
I love this song so much. I feel like I will find myself turning to it if I ever get homesick.
As a Michigan expat this tugs on the heartstrings. Great work, guys!

I will never not be in the mood to hear this wonderful ear candy of a song
I listen to this all the time, makes me feel like I'm home. Every time I do, my daughter asks if we can go to Michigan.
Just stumbled on this...glad I did.
Awesome.
It's been a few years since the release of this song, but as a true "Michigander", this song still speaks to my soul. Thank you!
Moved to Iowa this summer and this is helping to fill the mitten-shaped hole in my heart. Thank you so much for your music.
We love to hear that! Thank you for listening, honestly Michigan is such a special place. Come back for a visit soon!

I like these people because they just want to sing and sing abut what they love and that just makes me so happy.

Beautiful song...love it...
I was born here and I’ll always be here, No better state! Thanks for the amazing song
Me too! Agree:)
Best song to listen to on my way home from the bridge on US2. ❤️ Love this so much. Perfect way to describe a perfect place.
I haven't been out of Michigan more than a three month period, and now moving to DC very soon. I'm going to miss Michigan, and TC, for all the great times, people, and places. Hope to make it back some day. Thanks for the great song!
This is very catchy. It's still going through my head long after I listened to it. Well done. What a great love letter to your state too.
Awesomness
I agree
I thought i was The Accidentals #1 fan
"It's still going through my head long after I listened to it."
And Again and Again and Again and Again.....
Three years later and I still have a tiny piece of paper on my door that says number one Accidentals fan
my whole life i wanted to move to Michigan. now i am almost done with school and im so close to moving there, this song helps me see what ive been working so hard for!
Great sound. Good Luck.
This is a great song. I was lucky enough to see the band in 2019 when they came to the UK. Such proficient musicians and such great harmonies.
I've been a fan of this band for about two years now and they constantly inspire and amaze me with all of the beautiful music they make, and even though I'll probably move sometime in the next few years I know I can listen to this and Michigan will welcome me home again.
