Ron was a student at USC during my junior year there. I played on the JV basketball team. And often at night I would shoot hoops by myself on a basketball court across from one of the dorms. Ron would see me, he'd come over, and we would shoot baskets together. We talked a lot. He was such a nice, cool guy. I will never forget the night after we had finished playing 1-on-1. He said he was dropping out of SC. I asked why. He said he was going to do a movie called American Graffiti. Like they say, the rest of history. I've always cherished those times with him. Continued success my old friend. Fight on!!
Technically they gave him a trilogy before Ep 8 was "ruined" by becoming only the 10th highest grossing film in history and not ranking any higher than that.
I like Ron Howard but I hate what Disney/Kathleen Kennedy is doing to the Star Wars legacy. Sadly I cannot in good conscious pay to see Solo in theaters. R.I.P. Star Wars....
I'm with you Terence. So many people get way too emotionally wrapped around these movies. I've found that going in with an attitude of just having fun has always worked for me. There will never be another "A New Hope", and people need to stop acting as if a new movie will surpass it's greatness. So I just plan on having some fun in a galaxy far, far away and going on from there.
Same here Andy, kinda stupid to expect the new films to be the best film of all time. I am a big fan of Star Wars, and I have problems with some choices the franchise had made in the past, but that doesn't mean I can't go back into theatres and enjoy the latest movies.
