  • Today: MyLeica travel kit. In this trip: M11 and Leica M11P - the cameras that have seen it all on my travels.
    If you've got a thing for travel and street photography, you're in for a treat. We're taking a gritty, unfiltered look at how the Leica M11 and M11P handle themselves in different corners of the world. From the punchy colors to the timeless black and white, these Leica beasts never let me down.
    Now, let's get into my no-frills, beat-up travel Leica kit. First up, the Leica Summarit 50mm f2.5 - the kind of lens that's like an old friend, always reliable. Then, we're switching gears to the Leica Summicron 28mm f2.8 for some real wide-angle action. Hang on tight for the Leica Noctilux 50mm f1.2 - this bad boy owns the night with its low-light wizardry. And, of course, we can't forget the Leica Summarit 90 f2.4, the unsung hero for everything from sharp portraits to sweeping landscapes.
    But here's the dirt, the down and dirty truth - I've been scouring the second-hand market on eBay for some killer deals on Leica gear, and let me tell you, it's been a rollercoaster. I'll spill all the beans and share my battle scars and triumphs.
    Now, here's the real kicker - my Fuji Instax Wide printer. It's all about instant photo gratification, turning your travel memories into tangible, sometimes smudged keepsakes right there on the spot. It's a blast, and I can't wait to show you how it works.
    As times change, so does my gear game. Remember the days when I lugged around a dedicated video camera? Well, those days are long gone. With the trusty iPhone 15 Pro Max in my pocket, I've embraced the digital age, without losing that gritty touch. I'll break down how this pocket-sized powerhouse has made life easier while still delivering top-notch visuals.
    So, whether you're a die-hard Leica lover, a travel photo junkie, or just someone looking to up their street photography game, this video is your backstage pass to the unfiltered side of photography. Share your thoughts, war stories, and whatever's on your mind down in the comments. And hey, if you dig this real talk, make sure to hit that subscribe button, so you never miss the next raw adventure

    It's so fun. I haven't seen that combination nor heard anyone recommend the Instax miniprinter but just bought one. I fancied the idea of using my M10 as a very cool and capable instant camera with the help of this little printer. And being able to sometimes share pictures on the fly in a very genuine sense rather than a wetransfer days later. Could we be starting a new trend? Anpother reason I went for the miniprinter is, that I like the sort of retro polaroid mini format of app. 2x3". Thanks for the walk through of your interesting lens selection. It gave food for thought!

    Is your travel based around self-drive automobiles? I ask because I don’t drive for medical reasons so my travel is by air/train so I’m keeping my kit as light as possible - one M11 plus one or two lenses. Would that change your kit?
    I’m also thinking about getting an Instax but can’t quite work out how to print there and then. Do you need to import the image into the Apple Photo app and print wirelessly from there or can the M11 connect wirelessly to the printer?

    • @GastonShutters
      @GastonShutters  6 месяцев назад +2

      Hey man. Yeah this is my travel kit. I also have a Sony a7CRii that I bring with me with a 24-70 for video and those challenging photo situations. It’s o print with the Instax Wide you need to download the mobile app and print from your phone.

    We’re close. I do M10m and M10r with 28 and 50s. My mono kit is 21SEM, 28 Cron , 50 Lux. The color R gets a 24 Elmar and 50 apo. (Recently changed from the 28 Elmarit, which was better on the monochrome.) The only other lens I might carry now is a 90 APO asph and it goes on either (filter-wise). Unlike you, I keep filters (yellow or orange) on all monochrome lenses. Not using color filters on a mono tell me you never shot black and white on film.

      I thought the same: why the cheap filters? I hear you that you tested them… yet you say in the video that at night you see problems and have to fix in post. Why not - with all of these other abundant purchases - why wouldn’t you buy B+W MRC filters? They aren’t that expensive compared to the rest of your gear. Said in fun and with gratitude for your videos.

      @@joebrown479 Have not had issues with it adnI have some other good brands. including leica filters. I should do a video comparison to demonstrate that. The fact that they are affordable doesnt knock the fact that it has great coatings. Anotehr big deal for me is that they are about 2mm thick instead of the standard 3.5 +mm.
