You Know You're Right is Nirvana's best song, imo. It's the last thing Kurt recorded, and was released after his death. It predicts very well, his plan and demise. Many of his songs did that, but this one did it best. It was his Farewell to the world
This song used to make me cry when I dropped off my kids after a nasty divorce from my ex---I used to literally weep when I heard these lyrics but I loved the song so much...deep pain and deep resolve--they were 6 and 4...OOF that hurt
I lost my best friend to a drunk driver who sped through a red light going 70mph and ramming into his driver door on December 16th, 2007. I found out at 5:28pm, it was a cold, dark Monday evening. It's forever etched into my soul. In a few years, it'll be 20 years for me as well. It feels like just a few years ago, like time froze, and never let me go. I felt your comment, and I hope you've copped better with your loss than I have mine. God bless.
I agree with others that you need to check out “She Hates Me”, but not only that, be sure to check out “Control” and “Drift & Die”. IMO they are even better than “She Hates Me”. What I love about Puddle of Mudd is not just the songwriting and the lead singer’s voice (Wes Scantlin), but the band’s use of harmony at key points in many of their songs. It’s often a subtle but awesome touch.
I love this song! 😍 I'm usually a R&B and pop music fan (especially hits from the 1970s to early 2000s), but this fondly reminds me of when I worked on campus as a university student and my boss played the soft rock radio station in the office a couple times a week.
This is song is about the lead singer was in Europe doing a tour and his wife called him and told him im going to take my son, dog and etc so he is singing about his son
It is mind-blowing that you were recommended this song instead of their biggest hit "about a girl". It is by far their most memorable and iconic performance, you won't forget it.
Great song. Love the video. I watched it a lot, going through my divorce. I went from being a stay at home dad to being on the short end of a custody situation. I once went almost 6 months without seeing my kids. I missed them so much! Was in tears everytime watching the Puddle of Mud video of this song. Still gives me chills and tears. 😭😭
Ive gone through a divorce too. We had 10 kids....my wife and I split in 2012. Its June 18th of 2023 and I havent seen my two youngest (my two little girls) since that time. Over 10 years and I havent seen my two youngest. I know your pain my friend.
I know your pain gentleman. Men just get crucified and alienated from the children because of false accusations and fake tears by the ex just to get her way. The emotional pain is real and it's like the best opportunity for the enemy (ex) to utterly destroy men.
Puddle of Mudd were incredible live and sounded like their lp. Have been to many concerts and love it when the band shows us just how talented they truly are and left us wanting more. The band has the best Roadies who tossed us beer from onstage. Great band and i just saw theyre touring now. ❤
This song was popular right when I’d broken up with my first girlfriend. This used to make me tear up every time I heard it, but I couldn’t stop listening to it!
Yes good sir this is grunge. I listen to everything…hip hop (not the mumble rap, can’t identify with it if I can’t understand the words), movie scores, you name it. Music is universal, and I was in the gig economy long before it was a thing. So bring in a different office every day, being a black woman, music helped me fit in, everywhere. Have you done Alice In Chains? Heaven Beside You is my jam! I once sung it from the backseat of a friends car (not to him, just singing while a group of us were headed somewhere), dude still has yet to get over it. Lol! That day started out him not knowing my name, now he can’t forget my name. Music=Power. And with great power…..
Polo, I truly hope that that all your dreams and aspirations come true and fruition! Loved your intro into this video! Stay strong, my brother, and peace be with you and yours! Amen
Damn that took me back. Thank you polo. You make a bigger impact than I think you'll ever realize for some people. Keep it up, you're getting the fam the big crib! Love!
Puddle of Mudd is an American rock band formed in Kansas City, Missouri in 1992. To date, the band has sold over seven million albums and has had a string of No. 1 mainstream rock singles in the United States. Wes Scantlin (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Jimmy Allen (lead guitar), Sean Sammon (bass), and Kenny Burkitt (drums). According to Scantlin, the band name was inspired by practicing next to the Missouri river levee. In order to get to their practice space, the band "had to walk through a pile of shit (Mud). Wes Scantlin wrote "Blurry" about his desire to be a good dad to his son Jordan, and how he was missing his friends and family. Lyrics below: Everything's so blurry and everyone's so fake And everybody's empty and everything is so messed up Preoccupied without you, I cannot live at all My whole world surrounds you, I stumble and I crawl You could be my someone, you could be my scene You know that I'll protect you from all of the obscene I wonder what you're doing, imagine where you are There's oceans in between us, but that's not very far Can you take it all away? Can you take it all away? Well, you shoved it in my face This pain you gave to me Can you take it all away? Can you take it all away? Well, you shoved it in my face Everyone is changing, there's no one left that's real So make up your own ending and let me know just how you feel 'Cause I am lost without you, I cannot live at all My whole world surrounds you, I stumble then I crawl You could be my someone, you could be my scene You know that I will save you from all of the unclean I wonder what you're doing, I wonder where you are There's oceans in between us, but that's not very far Can you take it all away? Can you take it all away? Well, you shoved it in my face This pain you gave to me Can you take it all away? Can you take it all away? Well, you shoved it in my face This pain you gave to me Nobo-, nobody told me what you thought Nobody told me what to say Everyone showed you where to turn Told you when to run away Nobody told you where to hide Nobody told you what to say Everyone showed you where to turn Showed you when to run away Can you take it all away? Can you take it all away? Well, you shoved it in my face This pain you gave to me Can you take it all away? Can you take it all away? Well, you shoved it in my face This pain you gave to me, no This pain you gave to me This pain you gave to me Can you take it all, take it all away? This pain you gave to me Can you take it all away? This pain you gave to me Can you take it all away? This pain you gave to me
This reminds me of great times, when my kids were young. My older kids are in their 30's now, but I remember playing this CD in the truck with them when they were back in middle school.
🤘🏻😍💭 Wes Scantlin wrote this song about missing his son when Wes had to leave him in Kansas while he flew to california to record his music for the first time ❤
This song and Tantric's In the Mourning were songs that were a 2 hit combo that forced out the tears when I was going through my divorce and i needed to allow myself to feel something.
I have been watching you for a while and really enjoy your reactions. When it originally came out I remember it being classified as "grunge ". After this successful album the lead singer had some problems. I can totally relate to your "nasally" singing comment. Usually not something I enjoy but really liked this.
Hello Polo! This song is one of the first song I have listened to unexpectedly in 200. Back in the Philippines. That was only 70 pesos per CD it has POD, Linkin Park and Puddle of Mudd and Incubus and more. ❤🎉 tHis means a lot hope because of this you get your Mom a House and Lot. ❤🎉
This song has been in my playlist for a long while. I just recently found their album ''Re:(Disc)Overed", a compilation of covers of classic/famous rock tunes. Quite good.
I love this. I'm from Oshkosh Wisconsin 70k ppl and this is a ballad from Fdl to Green Bay. And everybody knows it. But hearing that udk it is such an awesome realization of cultures mixing and just the differences and how similar we can be. Love your channel
Thank you for reacting to this song! Another amazing song that'd be awesome for you to check out is Outside by Staind. Now, the version you want is his live performance with Fred Durst. Fred is a friend of the lead singer's, and he said if you do your new song, I'll come on with you. Now, the lead singer for Staind, he didn't HAVE the song. All he had was a chorus and the rhythm. It was ALL IMPROVIZED on stage, and later enhanced and more words added for the studio release. For him to sing on the spot a full song is incredible!!
I lived in Kansas City, MO for a while, and I got into the local music scene. Wes, the singer, was born and raised there. I could not find one person who had a good thing to say about Wes.
Puddle of Mudd is defiantly one of my favorite bands out there with this being their best song! Great to see others giving this track some love. I suggest you also check out another band called "Here Come The Mummies" with great songs like Dirty Minds, Pants, or Single Entendre!

Thanks for the reaction Polo! Puddle of Mudd's debut album produced several hits, which are mentioned below... Their songs seem to bring everyday experiences to the forefront. Lyrics hit home, with excellent music along for the ride. Drift & Die is similar to Blurry, but for some just plain FUN, try She Hates Me! Talk about REAL life!! Take Care...
I grew up in the hood... Nothing but rap and hip hop until I got to high school and my buddy opened up my world by buying me the smashing pumpkins entire discography in the late 90's... You seem to have a very similar taste to my own with a similar musical journey... You'd prolly like 3 doors down - duck and run...or pendulum - tempest.... Jesus, there are way too many bands and music so long as you are doing what you've been doing and not limiting yourself to just one branch of rock music... I'm literally all over the rock spectrum...I love everything from stuff rock purists consider "soft" all the way to music they'd consider too heavy...
I remember when I was 17 when this song came out in 2001. I knew the song was about his girl who did some shady shit, and he was confused and mad about the situation, but when I finally saw the music video a few months later, on mtv. The music video threw a twist. I didn't think that the song would be about his son and his baby momma. Made the song better and more emotional....u should check it out if you haven't seen it yet.
I understand why you're just listening to the track but you really should have included the music video also. It's a perfect 2000s style portrayal of a broken home. It's honestly bone chilling how similar it was to my situation at the time.
Great song! Great video! I’m going through a divorce right now. This song does tug at the heart strings. Especially when the kids are involved! Great reaction video Polo!
To understand the song better watch the official video. I had a deeper appreciation of the lyrics when I realized he was singing to his son. At that time my son was deployed over seas so it hit hard.
Great reaction and commentary!! This is probably my favorite song by them. I also like, "Control". It was the first release, before Blurry. Give it a listen...see what you think.

Puddle of Mudd was the post grunge era with bands like Creed, Korn, and Staind. Probably the biggest bands to find success immediately post grunge.
Great memory! I recall loving Staind but I don't recall the song lol. My memory isn't as great as yours🤣
@@evangelina3541 Don't know most of Staind's library but the songs I like from them are "So Far Away", "Epiphany" and "Fade" in that order.
@@NaturalMystic69 thank you 👍
I wouldn't really put Korn in that list because of them coming out nearly a decade before P.O.M. and of a completely different genre lol.
@@NaturalMystic69 I few hidden album gems are is “warm safe place,” “reality”, and “please”(live Aaron Lewis version is better)

That's deep. I can relate

high quality niggas will do that to you lmfaooo
why are all sad songs are beautiful to hear? it's sad but you love to hear it over and over again until you're going to cry..
Probably the best Puddle of Mudd song. I never skip it. Great harmonies and dynamics..it's good music.
This song came out around the time I lost a good friend in a car accident and this song reminds me of her. Can’t believe it’s been over 20 years.

Drift and die is such an underrated song.
If you ever decide to listen to this song again, it's a song to his son after he and his wife divorced. Adds another layer to it.

Their heir lead singer, Gord Downie passed in 2015 or 2016 of incurable brain cancer, but he’s a gifted genious
Gord Downie wasn't in Puddle of Mudd but in The Tragically Hip. Puddle of Mudd's singer is Wes Scantlin
@@Tony-ih1pg see below, i been asking polo to check out The Hip forever now. That’s who i was referring to

"Control" was their coming out party. Great energy song. Drift and die was good. Lead singer has had his issues. Too bad.
I agree, I love the “Control” video!
Reminds me of my 23 yr old nephew that passed from heroin addiction he’d be 27 now.. my angel and will remain..
Third line in. When he says "every thing is so messed up". In the uncensored version he says "every thing is so fucked up".
