I just had a similar conversation with my 76 year-old mother. I haven't been to a church for a few years. But, I converse with God throughout each day. Many churches have become so out of touch with the spiritual needs of their parishioners.
Yes... People are people they fail and make mistakes. God, never fails. Yet, we must forgive and let go of our offenses. Give it to God. Forgiveness helps us. It is needed In order to heal within... That is why Jesus says to forgive as he has forgiven us. It can be the hardest thing to do, yet forgiveness sets us free. Let go and let God continue to guide each of us. 💖
Lester, I watched the whole video and I can relate to your experiences. I too was going to church and was let down by the people there and was finding out things that just blew me away. I worship God in my heart and he’s in everything I see. I’m here if you need someone to talk to, someone to listen. There are a lot of us on your page that can relate to you and feel your pain. I agree Lester. I feel the same, the church crowd are snobs. We used to go to church every Sunday. We moved to another part of the city and my mom decided to go to a church down the street from where we lived. They made her feel so unwelcome she never went to church again. You don’t need a building to believe in God. Keep being you Lester ❤️.

I use to go to a Christian church where every Sunday the pastor would pick on certain people and indirectly judge them. He would also pressure everyone to give more money. Well, after a few months of being there they decided to close the church with the excuse of moving out of state for retirement. Come to find out they moved to another church and were doing the same. I think they just took our money and ran.
The church building is for the lost to learn and for saved to teach. Church is in your heart too displayed to everyone. I think you display your faith to everyone. God bless you and yours.

You hit the nail on the head, Lester! I have experienced the same thing in church and it is the reason I don't attend. In every city, there are usually 2-3 BIG churches where everyone attends that "is somebody." These are the churches I despise--not the church building but the people within. A relationship with God is between you and Him. No one else. ❤
I'm feeling you on this one Lester. My boyfriend of 24 years died at the end of May and his family was here to help get things organized and take what they wanted out of our apartment but they haven't checked on me since the dust has settled.
This is the exact reason my family and I left "the church ". Too many bad experiences , fake pastors , fake Christian's , fake concern, fake everything! So many times I just needed to know someone cared and not once has anyone come from the church or called. THIS VIDEO IS SO ON POINT AND EXACTLY THE WAY I FEEL! GOD DWELLS IN ME ,NOT IN A BUILDING! Samezies!!! Apparently there are many of us with bad experiences like this. I also don't attend a 'church' but I know God and Jesus are in my heart and love me and I love them! I love you and your family Lester and feel heartwrenched at how you were let down in your worst of times by your friends and church. I know it's so very painful when you realize those who you think are the ones that have your back have abandoned you at the first sign of need. Big big hugs Lester. I'm totally with you, I've gone above and beyond for some of my friends after they've lost parents, (as I've been through it myself) then every week I'd drive over and take them out buy them lunch/flowers/ bake a cake for them, then when I've needed them as had to stop driving and sometimes can't walk, I look around and where are they....not even a phone call/text. You speak so much truth and I'm not going anywhere, it's about time someone said it like it is. I've only been following you and your family for about 2-3months and in my eyes anyone who loves animals the way you guys do well your the honest and nicest of people that I want in my life. We’re all on our own journey. God is love and humans are fallible. A good ‘church’ will not judge you, or ignore you, but be a source of love, compassion, true friendship, strength, forgiveness, discovery and a place where humans can meet to support each other. As others have said, a church is not God, Pastors are human and there are many good and bad ones. I do go to church and I’m always glad that I’ve gone but I recognise too that there are many churches getting it very wrong :-( Keep being you Lester, the way you love your family and animals speaks volumes about the amazing spirit that you are.

Thank you Lester for sharing those feelings and experiences. I believe in going to church and I miss it. My husband died 3 years and 8 months ago. At first some of my family and a few church members were supportive of me, but that didn’t last long. My car situation is that I don’t have one that works now. I don’t have as way to get to church anymore. I miss my church family. I miss my family. I miss my friends. I am alone except for my two puppies and my cat. I am disabled so I don’t go to work anymore. I have your and your family’s channels to watch and a few other’s. Thank you Lester for explaining and thank you for being there for me.
I have to pray every day that the Lord take away the hurt and pains of my life and to free me. He says to me, “my grace is good enough for you”. So I pray for forgiveness of my own mistakes and I pray for my enemies. I want to depend solely on the Lord and be spiritually free.

You gained a supporter today, you didn't loose one. I was raised the same way you were. I did however have and still have what is left of my church family. I haven't been there for many years but there is still a group of elderly women who have always shown me what church is really all about. They are in their 70's plus but I know if I showed up there I would feel the love. I however don't really have any friends now. I landed on my head from 12 feet and have a TBI. I lost everything but my house. I have learned to adapt. I am grateful to be alive and all f the blessings I still have. It is strangers who help me out. It is the banker who tells me about a program that will help me with something. It is the checkout clerk at the grocery store who knows of someone with fresh veggies. I started over and I still really struggle but knowing I am part of your family helps. I listen to you daily so I don't feel so alone. Miigwech!! That is Thank you in my language. I'll see you soon even if you don't see me. And the tears are rolling down my cheeks but they are healing.
I was about 25yo the last time I went to church. I saw a young woman respond to the alter call. And she knelt there... and she knelt there. No body came to her. They went back and forth to the other (finer dressed) people who had come down. I watched and waited. I was baptized there but after that day, I never went back. You said it in this video. Cliques. It's a bunch of little people in cliques who think judging you is their business. I find God every day without church. He's in the old woman on the corner or the kid whose on an errand for his mom, or the store clerk checking you out. All it takes is a smile and a heart of love. You have both so I know you have God. The “pastor” of the church we attended for years embezzled money so he could buy his family a dream home🤣 you were hurt & is even harder when it is friend but even harder when they are Christian. Fair weathered friends are the worst!! Thanks for this video sometimes I feel it’s just me.
I understand you upset with the people the way they treated you at the church but they are just people just like you they have faults and don’t always do good that is what church is for to teach about Jesus burn here on earth we are all sinners but the ones saved but even with them saved they still don’t always do the right thing and you can a,ways find another church that does treat you better mine church helps people all the time I go to a Baptist church here in Alabama . Bad people come in all shapes, sizes, colors, beliefs, etc. What upsets me the most is when someone uses the faith of others to gain for themselves. No one should use your faith against you and for their own gain. I personally think people like that are extra bad. If that makes sense.

Kathy, there is a verse in Hebrews that talks about not forsaking the gathering together of believers (Heb. 10:25) as some do. Having said that, there is such a thing as house churches that aren't "organized" churches. There needs to be 1)support and encouragement and 2)accountability. I am not judging. I have been there, but there does need to be fellowship with believers.
Once saved, you’re always saved. Nothing can take you out of His hands. Humans are flawed and make mistakes. That’s what grace is all about. Jesus never lets me down. I just wish I didn’t let Him down as much as I do.
Lester thanks for sharing. I have experienced something similar in my life. Friends, true friends are such a blessing, but are very hard to come by. I still go to my church, hiking through the wilderness, go on the water etc God is everywhere not just in the buildings with the cross on it. Keep loving all the wonderful babies and sharing with us.

Lester, I had a different situation but the most tramatic event in my life. I unfortunately experienced same unexpected treatment by ALL. I have always served my Friends in time of need. But, When trauma stuck my life, my so called friends became Ghost's. To this day!! Some people Suck Lester! 💞

Well Lester, I was raised as a Lutheran, bible school, confirmation classes, church choir.....(Mom at one time thought I was going to become a minister).... I am now, and for the last 53 some odd years, an agnostic. (my definition: I'd like to believe there is a supreme being, but it hasn't been proven to me). I do believe folks should be allowed to believe how they want to as long as they don't try to push it on others, and it brings no harm to another. No, I do not go to church. Now only for weddings/funerals (some may think that they are the same thing.... sorry..) hahaha. I do believe I am a good person at heart, and know the difference between right and wrong.... peace

Exactly how I feel Lester. Raised in Church family, when my folks got divorced I could hear other parishioners talk about my mom in their little cliques. Broke my heart. Against our Churches beliefs, could not enter another Church out of our Faith. Like you, I believe in my Savior, Jesus Christ, but I could be in the middle of the woods and be closer to God. I thank God every day - in my own way- how thankful my life has been because of Him🙏🏻 My true friends, have all passed, have a few great acquaintances I can pretty much count on for most things, but not when I truly need them. I had the same sort of experience as you did and I feel the same. The last straw was when my mother was with her dying mother in hospital and one of our congregation said to me that she should be in church praying and not with her in her final moments. I told her that the trouble with her was she was too religious and she should be more christian and I haven’t been back to church since. I still have my deep belief in god and see and feel him all around me. Lester you nailed it!!!!!! When I was in my 20’s I worked for Kmart. We always hated Sundays around 12:00 because the church people started coming in. Everything would be going good until they started rolling in the door and then the nastiness started. Those people who had just got out of church would stop in still wearing their dress clothes. They were so rude, nasty and no matter what you did it wasn’t going to make them happy. We always wondered what they learned in church that day cause they sure weren’t nice. We all thought they went to church to say oh I’m a good person and to try to impress people. Then the switch flips as soon as they walk out the door and they can go back to normal. I’m like you Lester, God is everywhere you look. I can believe in him while I’m sitting outside weeding my flowers or taking a walk. Lester I’m glad you opened up and got that off your chest. This same type of thing happened to me and my boyfriend. I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 27 and our 2 best friends that we introduced to each other and they got married when we told them about my cancer they only came and saw me 1 time over the 3 yrs that I battled it.

Lester; you are so right about the church crowd in a restaurant.I was a server for many years.waited on them hand and foot at closing time.Having coffee and pie mostly.Having to make fresh coffee at closing time with the other workers leaving.They would slowly start leaving,and I would be the last one out.Having my manager being mad at me.Of course the tips were very small in spite of all the extra time I had to spend waiting and cleaning up.I felt they were very ungrateful.

Lester, I watched the whole video and I can relate to your experiences. I too was going to church and was let down by the people there and was finding out things that just blew me away. We moved to another part of the city and my mom decided to go to a church down the street from where we lived. They made her feel so unwelcome she never went to church again. I use to go to a Christian church where every Sunday the pastor would pick on certain people and indirectly judge them. He would also pressure everyone to give more money. Well, after a few months of being there they decided to close the church with the excuse of moving out of state for retirement. Come to find out they moved to another church and were doing the same. I think they just took our money and ran.
The church building is for the lost to learn and for saved to teach. Church is in your heart too displayed to everyone. I think you display your faith to everyone. God bless you and yours.

You hit the nail on the head, Lester! I have experienced the same thing in church and it is the reason I don't attend. In every city, there are usually 2-3 BIG churches where everyone attends that "is somebody." These are the churches I despise--not the church building but the people within. A relationship with God is between you and Him. No one else. ❤
I'm feeling you on this one Lester. My boyfriend of 24 years died at the end of May and his family was here to help get things organized and take what they wanted out of our apartment but they haven't checked on me since the dust has settled.

Apparently there are many of us with bad experiences like this. I also don't attend a 'church' but I know God and Jesus are in my heart and love me and I love them! I love you and your family Lester and feel heartwrenched at how you were let down in your worst of times by your friends and church. I know it's so very painful when you realize those who you think are the ones that have your back have abandoned you at the first sign of need. Big big hugs Lester. The pain will get easier over time but you will never forget it.
Just remember you have all of us now who love and care for your family. I know I don't say a lot very often here but I check often thru the day and try to keep y'all in my prayers.

I'm totally with you, I've gone above and beyond for some of my friends after they've lost parents, (as I've been through it myself) then every week I'd drive over and take them out buy them lunch/flowers/ bake a cake for them, then when I've needed them as had to stop driving and sometimes can't walk, I look around and where are they....not even a phone call/text.
You speak so much truth and I'm not going anywhere, it's about time someone said it like it is. We’re all on our own journey. God is love and humans are fallible. A good ‘church’ will not judge you, or ignore you, but be a source of love, compassion, true friendship, strength, forgiveness, discovery and a place where humans can meet to support each other. As others have said, a church is not God, Pastors are human and there are many good and bad ones. I do go to church and I’m always glad that I’ve gone but I recognise too that there are many churches getting it very wrong :-(

Thank you Lester for sharing those feelings and experiences. I believe in going to church and I miss it. My husband died 3 years and 8 months ago. At first some of my family and a few church members were supportive of me, but that didn’t last long. My car situation is that I don’t have one that works now. I don’t have as way to get to church anymore. I miss my church family. I miss my family. I miss my friends. I am alone except for my two puppies and my cat. I am disabled so I don’t go to work anymore. I have your and your family’s channels to watch and a few other’s. Thank you Lester for explaining and thank you for being there for me.
I have to pray every day that the Lord take away the hurt and pains of my life and to free me. He says to me, “my grace is good enough for you”. So I pray for forgiveness of my own mistakes and I pray for my enemies. I want to depend solely on the Lord and be spiritually free.

You gained a supporter today, you didn't loose one. I was raised the same way you were. I did however have and still have what is left of my church family. I haven't been there for many years but there is still a group of elderly women who have always shown me what church is really all about. They are in their 70's plus but I know if I showed up there I would feel the love. I however don't really have any friends now. I landed on my head from 12 feet and have a TBI. I lost everything but my house. I have learned to adapt. I am grateful to be alive and all f the blessings I still have. It is strangers who help me out. It is the banker who tells me about a program that will help me with something. It is the checkout clerk at the grocery store who knows of someone with fresh veggies. I started over and I still really struggle but knowing I am part of your family helps. I listen to you daily so I don't feel so alone. Miigwech!! That is Thank you in my language. I'll see you soon even if you don't see me. And the tears are rolling down my cheeks but they are healing.
I was about 25yo the last time I went to church. I saw a young woman respond to the alter call. And she knelt there... and she knelt there. No body came to her. They went back and forth to the other (finer dressed) people who had come down. I watched and waited. I was baptized there but after that day, I never went back. You said it in this video. Cliques. It's a bunch of little people in cliques who think judging you is their business. I find God every day without church. He's in the old woman on the corner or the kid whose on an errand for his mom, or the store clerk checking you out. All it takes is a smile and a heart of love. You have both so I know you have God. Bad people come in all shapes, sizes, colors, beliefs, etc. What upsets me the most is when someone uses the faith of others to gain for themselves. No one should use your faith against you and for their own gain. I personally think people like that are extra bad. If that makes sense.

Kathy, there is a verse in Hebrews that talks about not forsaking the gathering together of believers (Heb. 10:25) as some do. Having said that, there is such a thing as house churches that aren't "organized" churches. There needs to be 1)support and encouragement and 2)accountability. I am not judging. I have been there, but there does need to be fellowship with believers.
Once saved, you’re always saved. Nothing can take you out of His hands. Humans are flawed and make mistakes. That’s what grace is all about. Jesus never lets me down. I just wish I didn’t let Him down as much as I do.

Lester thanks for sharing. I have experienced something similar in my life. Friends, true friends are such a blessing, but are very hard to come by. I still go to my church, hiking through the wilderness, go on the water etc God is everywhere not just in the buildings with the cross on it. Keep loving all the wonderful babies and sharing with us.

Well Lester, I was raised as a Lutheran, bible school, confirmation classes, church choir.....(Mom at one time thought I was going to become a minister).... I am now, and for the last 53 some odd years, an agnostic. (my definition: I'd like to believe there is a supreme being, but it hasn't been proven to me). I do believe folks should be allowed to believe how they want to as long as they don't try to push it on others, and it brings no harm to another. No, I do not go to church. Now only for weddings/funerals (some may think that they are the same thing.... sorry..) hahaha. I do believe I am a good person at heart, and know the difference between right and wrong.... peace

The last straw was when my mother was with her dying mother in hospital and one of our congregation said to me that she should be in church praying and not with her in her final moments. I told her that the trouble with her was she was too religious and she should be more christian and I haven’t been back to church since. I still have my deep belief in god and see and feel him all around me. Lester you nailed it!!!!!! When I was in my 20’s I worked for Kmart. We always hated Sundays around 12:00 because the church people started coming in. Everything would be going good until they started rolling in the door and then the nastiness started. Those people who had just got out of church would stop in still wearing their dress clothes. They were so rude, nasty and no matter what you did it wasn’t going to make them happy. We always wondered what they learned in church that day cause they sure weren’t nice. We all thought they went to church to say oh I’m a good person and to try to impress people. Then the switch flips as soon as they walk out the door and they can go back to normal. I’m like you Lester, God is everywhere you look. I can believe in him while I’m sitting outside weeding my flowers or taking a walk. Lester I’m glad you opened up and got that off your chest. I believe SO strongly in Our Savior, and I don't go to church. I pray at home, I pray in my car, I can pray wherever I am & I know I am heard above. We are the church, not the building and God is not a religion he’s your personal savior. I don’t go to church Lester, but I am a Christian. My relationship with him is personal and is no one’s business. People can claim to be saved, but their words don’t make it so, their actions do.
I am so sorry that you’ve had to deal with Fake friends and Fake Christians. If I was there, I would surely be happy to help. I believe in, you treat people the way you would want to be treated. Just don’t let others sway away in your faith. God bless.

I have never participated in social media ever or responded w a comment but......TODAY is the day. You are so RIGHT BROTHER. I too grew up in churches from grandparents to parents going like you everytime they opened the doors and then worked in church day camp and after school program for 18+ years and there is no bigger group of hypocrites sitting in their pew on Sunday a.m. stabbing people in back b4 they get to Monday. So yeah I watched whole video and I love you and your family more than ever. Keep being you and don't ever worry about the haters. I too have a family farm in N. Florida, you rock.

This same type of thing happened to me and my boyfriend. I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 27 and our 2 best friends that we introduced to each other and they got married when we told them about my cancer they only came and saw me 1 time over the 3 yrs that I battled it.

What I've been saying all long even my 82yr old mother rather read her daily devotion then step back in church facing alot of fake, judgemental hipercrits. People are not nice & why I rather shop online get my groceries delivered then be around alot of People! My 51yrs I've learned even your bestfriend will turn on you if you have nothing to offer them anymore. 😥 Sad but so true! Lester; you are so right about the church crowd in a restaurant.I was a server for many years.waited on them hand and foot at closing time.Having coffee and pie mostly.Having to make fresh coffee at closing time with the other workers leaving.They would slowly start leaving,and I would be the last one out.Having my manager being mad at me.Of course the tips were very small in spite of all the extra time I had to spend waiting and cleaning up.I felt they were very ungrateful.
