I’ve always disconnected the negative/ground side of my battery when working on electrical components on my car. Purchased this screen. When arrived looks nothing like the one in video. Also harness are not the same. Didn’t come with instructions. Ordered this product from DMP car design.
All kits are not the same. It depends on your cars year and model and also what stock radio model you already have in your car. And there’s no instructions cause these are designed for professional installs. These are not just plug and play kits. It requires skill to install and requires custom software setup. My video is not a “how to” video for every kit out there. My video is just my own experience with the install on my own car after me figuring out by myself what goes where. I still need DMP’s help on setting up the screens software to work properly. What you do with that info is up to you. If you wanna install it yourself, reach out to DMP and ask for tech support. That’s what they are there for. It’s their product and they provide support and warranty on it.
Hello there... I saw your Video and you explained it great. The only thing I wanted to ask: if you have an android phone and you go on Phone, can you also play Musik with your phone through the phone setting or do you need to download the music?
Nothing needs to be downloaded. The CarPlay shows exactly what’s already on your phone. If you have music already on your phone, then CarPlay will show it and play it. However if you connect any android phone…you would be using the Android Auto software, not the CarPlay software. CarPlay is only for iPhones. Android Auto is what’s used for Android phones.
It works with whatever apps already on your phone. The only thing is some apps might not show up cause if an app can cause distractions while your driving (like a video app like RUclips)…it won’t show up on the cars screen. That’s for safety protection set by the law.
You will need to go to the link in the description and see if DMP has one. I don’t work for DMP and I don’t sell products. I just make RUclips videos on my own installs on my car.
Do you really needed to install that small speaker? What is it for?
And does this work with the bang and Olufson sound system?
Yes
Hello there... I saw your Video and you explained it great. The only thing I wanted to ask: if you have an android phone and you go on Phone, can you also play Musik with your phone through the phone setting or do you need to download the music?
Nothing needs to be downloaded. The CarPlay shows exactly what’s already on your phone. If you have music already on your phone, then CarPlay will show it and play it. However if you connect any android phone…you would be using the Android Auto software, not the CarPlay software. CarPlay is only for iPhones. Android Auto is what’s used for Android phones.
@@TheFlexxGarage ah ok... So it also works with Spotify and Napster and so on ?
It works with whatever apps already on your phone. The only thing is some apps might not show up cause if an app can cause distractions while your driving (like a video app like RUclips)…it won’t show up on the cars screen. That’s for safety protection set by the law.
Awesome! I will do the same
Where do you connect the audio?
Not sure what you mean. Literally everything I did for the install is in the video. There’s no skipped steps for the kit I had.
Do they have any smaller style screens im not a fan of how it pops out like that dosnt look oem
Not sure. You need to look on DMP’s website.
Does your stereo system have to be AMI or MMI? I’m hoping this is compatible with both.
Doesn’t matter. Go to the dmp link. They have a screen based on your stock radio system.
When can I bay just the display harness?
You can’t. You can contact DMP and ask. 🤷🏻♂️
What type of programming did they do? I got into contact with them and they said it’s all plug and play
They are plug and play but they still need to be setup properly to work for your specific car’s model/trim.
Is this exactly model totally CarPlay compatible for iPhones?
Yes, as mentioned in my review at the end of the video that it has CarPlay
🔥🔥🔥
great content
For me not working aux 😢 what i have to do? Not i can look mmi 3g 😢 can you halp me?
Do you have aux activated in "green menu"?
Did you fix this ?
Same for a b8.5 s5?
Yes. Go to the website and put in your cars model and you’ll see the same screen.
Any ideea why new interface doesn’t recognise when car in reverse ?
Settings need to be updated.
@@TheFlexxGarage thank you so much for your reply , can you be more specific please ? Do I need a software update ?
Compré una radio pero de Audi A4 añs 2009 tengo Audi A4 2008 si puedo instalar por audi A4 añs 2008 ?
Do you have one that's compatible with Audi Chorus?
You will need to go to the link in the description and see if DMP has one.
I don’t work for DMP and I don’t sell products. I just make RUclips videos on my own installs on my car.
Thanks mate
I have a 2010 A4. Is this device compatible with Audi Chorus?
Don’t know. You need to look at the website and see if your car model and stock radio is listed.
did u look into rsnav before making the dmp purchase?
Just depends on what radio you have. They have details on their website
Can i activate the rear camera while driving??
No. Cause a reverse camera is for reversing.
Fantastic I hate that old thing lol
the old one was good for a bit when I installed the carplay module but man, this new screen kicks ass!
How responsive is the screen while using CarPlay?
Feels like oem
Where can i buy the screen?
Does it work for a 2010 auidi a4 b8?
An mentioned in the video, look in the video description. The product page will tell you which year/model it will work on.
I connected mine , but there is no sound output from screen
Do you really needed to install that small speaker? What is it for? I watched other videos like yours, and allegedly, that speaker doesn't need to be installed, with the mmi 3g system You used it for a while. Any idea?
I'm about to install mine tomorrow.
Thanks for the video anyway. I was stuck, because my Audi is an B 8.5 too.
Cheers, Tibor
Did you finish your install? I have the exact same car and the same device as you, but I cannot hear any audio from the device through my speakers in the car
@@danmitchell970 did you manage to fix this?
My mmi tells me AMI is not connected. Even my old AMI Bluetooth isnt recognized anymore. So i dont get audio out of the radio via aux anymore. Dont know how to fix this issue. Anyone fixed the same problem ? (Tried with the 3,5mm AMI and without)
You need a AMI connector which you get included with all the other cables
Where can I find that?
Hi flexx. How can i fix no Sound with android.. OEM Sound is ok.. RUclips have no sound.. thank you
Did you fixed it? Have the same problem
İI am looking for this Android Laucher what looks like the Audi Interface. Can anyone recommend it to me
I have a 2011 Audi A4 Quattro will this work for it?
Yes. You just need to make sure the right screen kit is selected for your car on DMP’s webstore.
@@TheFlexxGarage is there photos what dmp
Does anyone know what version of android this is running 🤔
Go look at the product link in the video description. Should be all there. If no, you can always message DMP and they’ll tell you
I have this my car I love it
What about the hazard lights?
The new button was installed and hazards works fine. That’s clearly shown in the video.
Does this work for European cars? Right side drive
Yea if you order the right hand version. Pretty sure they have it as an option on DMP’s link in my video description. If it’s not there, just message DMP directly and they’ll let you know.
Does it require a SIM card
Only if you want a dedicated source for internet. If not, use CarPlay from your phone or connect the WiFi from your phone to the screen.
I noticed you had the hazard with the passenger airbag light, did any codes pop up when plugging into the new hazard switch/minus airbag light?
Zero issues
We still have the exact same vehicle but mine is black
Nice. Modded?
@@TheFlexxGarage cold air intake and rims 😂 im still broke.. bout to get a down pipe cat ex soon though
Does this have CarPlay too?
Yes, that was mentioned in the video.
Does it have apple CarPlay?
Yes. That was clearly mentioned when I walked through each feature of the screen.
I buy exactly the same screen but I can’t see the oem system
It’s not the same screen if it’s not from DMP car design. Not all screens are the same, just because they “look” the same.
