    Had to watch again to confirm the mistake the current Turbo s power as stated is incorrect in the video. The current Turbo s is closer to 650hp the mistake is the listed hp of the standard Turbo I believe. Making a video and getting fundamental information incorrect isn't helpful.

      You are correct, it's 572 horsepower for the Turbo and 641 horsepower for the Turbo.S. And yes, if one is gonna do a video, one should do their homework.

      I see what you are saying. Looking at my browser history I can see I got the figure from the Porsche website, but looks like I must have accidentally moved over to the Turbo after I had loaded the Turbo S page and wrote down the wrong number when putting together the script. The one positive is the main point of the video is the Nurburgring time being faster and I’ve double checked and that part is correct.

    Some people say that hybrid will be the downfall of Porche . What do you think about that? Anyway ordered mine today and will be delivered in October 😉

    • @OurRideLife
      @OurRideLife  6 месяцев назад +1

      I mean some said that water-cooling would be. I think that the hybrid won’t be the downfall of Porsche. Now if the 911 only had an EV that migh do it at least until things are more mature with the technology (or potentially we move to something else).
      Enjoy your GTS when it gets delivered and drive it as often as you can.

    When they said it was faster than a turbo they said the OLD turbo. I believe they meant the 991.1 Turbo S (560 hp). The electric turbo spools up faster so even with similar power it should be quicker

    Haven't seen this subject addressed: can this new hybrid GTS be tuned?

    • @OurRideLife
      @OurRideLife  6 месяцев назад

      That is a good question. In theory a software update would make it easily tunable and I’m sure a few tuners are trying to get their hands on one to see how much they can do.

    I think you got confused. The current 911 Turbo S actually makes 641 HP. You're probably talking about the current 911 Turbo which has 572 HP, not the Turbo S.

    Turbo s 0-60 is 2.2 per road and track...bad form my guy

      I was using Porsche’s numbers since the numbers for the GTS only have Porsches numbers at this time. As we know Porsche does tend to be conservative, but their website claims a 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds for the Turbo S (with the sports chrono package). The GTS has a time of 2.9 seconds, so if I did the math correctly it would be 3 tenths of a second faster based on the numbers Porsche provided.
      Now, both in the real world are certainly going to be quicker, but we only have so much info on the GTS right now.
      Now on the other hand the Turbo S horsepower was wrong on this, so a bit of a hand slap is deserved one way or the other.

      Don't play the conservative game. TURBO S AND GTS 2 different cars. You're comparing apples to oranges. If you're talking about the old turbo S then yes very similar in some ways. Just word your vids better my guy.

    It’s not faster. A 992 turbos s official Porsche figures are 0-60mph 2.6 seconds. 0-100 kmph (62mph) are 2.7 seconds.

    • @OurRideLife
      @OurRideLife  5 месяцев назад

      @@raylancaster2712 you are correct that it isn’t quicker from 0-60 mph and has a lower top speed, but it is faster around the Nurburgring, so in that way it is faster. But all that isn’t quite as snappy in a title and opening hook.

      @@OurRideLife Seems you were having a bad day - The Turbo S lap time was recorded in 2018 7:17… BUT in 2020ish they changed the lap recording rules which added distance to the lap and so the Turbo S would remain the faster. It is however a brilliant equal to the 992 GT3 at 7:18 under the old track rules.

    • @OurRideLife
      @OurRideLife  4 месяца назад

      @@lamby2244 I believe the 2018 lap time was a 991.2 Turbo S, but in 2021 the lap time was for the 992.1 Turbo S. They are both 7:17, but one is 7:17.11 and the 992.1 is 7:17.3. However, the faster lap did used a car with the aero kit and it looks like the slower did not, so that would make a difference (this is based on a news source in German, so it is possible that I have the aero kit portion incorrect: www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/test/porsche-911-turbo-s-nordschleife-supertest/).
      Having said that, the Turbo S is still extremely fast and the next version will be even faster.
