I’ve been looking for a stereo overdrive for my techno rig (Octatrack, Digitakt, Syntakt, DFAM, Quadrantid Swarm) to use in a couple of ways. The DFAM and QS already get piped to a Ruina Versio, but this will be great to 1) use to add heavy overdrive to resample stuff, and 2) to use subtlety to add a little gritty saturation to the full mix. Thanks for the video - it sold me on this particular pedal. The search is over. 🤘
@@horsezanthus5040 I ended up not getting it since I pipe everything into an an audio interface connected to in iPad and I use Fred Anton Corvest “Medusa” as a master bus AU saturation instead
It would be interesting to see it more subtly on the master of a full track. Drums and other parts together. Really diging the sound. Nice demo anyways. Thanks!
Did you try mixing a little dry in (where it sounds best on drum machines & acoustic samples of all kinds, imo), or not using everything fully-dimed? Granted this pedal was specifically made with organs/keyboards & synths in mind, I think with the right settings it's a gem for hits & percussion tracks! Obviously dependent on personal style & genre, though - but having such tone shaping in full-stereo I/O-*AT THIS PRICE*-seems too good an opportunity to give up!
You can also just send the close micd tracks on parallel bus to it. So no cymbals or overheads but add punch to the single drum heads but keep the pure sound mixed in :)
7.05 you can start to hear the ground noise bleeding into the signal, granted you are driving it hard, but I've read that this has quite a bit of noise in general?
When both gain dials are cranked, then there is a little bit of noise, but I don't find it intrusive or unusable at all. Compared with all the other distortion pedals I own (which aren't stereo like this so not directly comparable) this one is by far the quietest in terms of noise. I pretty much never have both gains dialled up to 10 like that anyway, but when I do, the noise level is definitely manageable, and mostly unnoticeable to me.
@@TheBrutusFire it does sound awesome, i'm interested in possibly sending a bus into something like this, or maybe even use it on the main mix and was thinking something stereo very low noise like the analog heat. thanks for the demo btw
@@seqtj the chips in the Sega Genesis were built for consumer market and so aren’t line-level. I use a pair of echoplex amps but can attest that the Operation overlord be a a great pairing with the MegaFM, especially with high release settings on the envelopes in high gain mode. I will be experimenting with the ym2612 chips to see what the crossover distortion sounds like amplified by this (and other) gain pedals
Nice demo. I want to use this on the 2bus for Akai MPC out > EHX Platform stereo compressor > EHX Op Overlord > audio interface. And maybe finish touch in daw w Izotope Ozone or Cradle God Particle. Analog Heat is too expensive.
Your video convinced me to get this. Running my Vermona DRM1 through it. Absolute madness, I’m obsessed.

@@TRC_PNW cheers 👍🏻
Thanks for this demo I've been wanting to see for a while !
this is art
What a treat to wake up to
Very cool and extremely appreciated

Killer demo. Thank you.
I may need to buy this immediately for a project in the works
Exactly the kind of thing I wanted to hear… this is extremely clean sounding for a distortion pedal.
It’s not a distorsion pedal, it’s an overdrive 😉

Killer, killer, killer demo. I have to have this pedal! Thanks, friendo.
Holy sweet jeez, this is some real crunch !
This and the original Mike Matthews EHX demo are the best. I Like Ike! 😂
Great!
Did you compared it with Analog Heat?
Thats crunchy. Wonderful character to it.
THANKS
Killer demo.
rad demo, thank you
I’ve bought one and on acoustic drums sounds it really sucks to be fair just when using electronic drums it really shines

This could also be used as a nice clean preamp for synths that are a little weak (such as the MegaFM) with the ability to get dirty quickly.
MegaFm weak in what way , was interested in 1

Nice idea! Did you get to try this signal path? I might suggest puting the comp after this to slam into, but... yeah. Interesting!
Yes!!!
it cuts low end. bass knob boosts 100hz. everything that is lower cuts off(( so thats not suitable for synths and drums
Nice video!
I want to connect an analog synth, what type of input should I choose HI, NORM, LO?
I haven't used it with an analog synth, but when I pair it with the Digitone, I usually go with Normal or High, both sound good to me.
cool AF
