Just off the screening of Sunset at AFI FEST, Lazlo really put the audience to work overtime to keep up with this intense story, same first person style but with a more complex story and lots or key characters than Son of Saul, a real masterpiece.
Seen the movie... At the very end something felt off, and an idea surged, that Iris has a split personality disorder, that she was a gang leader all along... The way gang started the attack when she came to the underground club, someone shouted: "Leiter", as if they waited for him/her. As she walks out on the balcony at the end, the crowd start cheering her name ("Leiter! Leiter!") How is it possible for all of the gang members to reckognize this woman they almost never heard off or seen? How is it that she is always at the very center of all cruical points of the movie (as she walks to the countes and Fon Konig, her brother appears at the same time, shooting at Fon Konig). There are no photos of her brother. And seeing the doctor, saying she tried to understand (the nature), hers? "no, my brothers". There are many points in the movie that are incompatible with this theory, and this is, thus, far fetched.
Ugyanazokkal a tipikus "magyaros" hibákkal van tele... ahogy beszélnek benne, annyira mesterkélt, semmi természetes nincs benne. Ezer fimből is felismerhető lenne, hogy magyar film.
A fenéket.
Beautiful sound design - raised my heart rate in less than 2 minutes. Good work!
