We use a 3 point hitch broadcast spreader. Product capacity 450 pounds. Broadcast, width, about 50 feet. Connect to behind a forward 4 4000 tractor. Handloaded from 50 pound bags of fertilizer. Jason, another great video. Thanks for bringing it to us. 🙂🙏🙂
That's a nice spreader. Big improvement over the ones we had growing up. You can cover some serious acres with it and the technology is nice in it. I used to spread dry on my corn to top dress before the new sprayers that can over tall corn. I still think it is a good way to get it going and come over it later with the sprayer. Thanks Jason.
Let me bring up the good old days .... when you loaded fertilizer from 80 to 100 pound bags into the small hoppers by hand .😂 But my point is that big hopper must weigh an awful lot .just shows how strong the 3 point hitch is and how amazing equipment is. Being retired from running heavy equipment, I was amazed at the strength of the hydraulic systems. After watching... 4 1/2 tons is amazing.
Nice setup👍😉 Amazone spreaders and sprayers are pretty common around here😄👍 a farmer near me had to shovel out a spreader like this because a tire broke off the tractor this spring😫 Thanks for the video👍👍
Hello everyone great vidéo and equipement thanks Jason my boss spreads fertilizer with the 6130r and amazone ZA S spreader in 36 meters the widest setting
Had co-op top up corn with urea on a high boy spreader. I rent an 8 ton spreader for potash and ams before corn and beans. I pull it with a 1086 or sometimes a 1456.
When we spread over the top of our crops we use a tag along wheeled spreader. I could see the advantages of a 3 point hitch for not running over crops but the big disadvantage is the low volume of product you are able to carry
We use a 3 point mounted Teagle XT48 fertiliser broadcaster on a John Deere 6330 tractor typically applying 100kg's to the acre of compound fertiliser in a 12 metre spread pattern. the spreader holds 1200kg of product loaded with a loader tractor lifting 600kg bulk bags which is the most common way of handling fertiliser here in the UK
They are well worth a look. They are a nimble way of using a fixed frame tractor. This spreader is also sold as a pull type and to mount on self propelled spreaders.
Would you say that the John Deere 8R is a good tractor? worth the money? I am interested in purchasing one but am very hesitant. Does he do his jobs well? What are its disadvantages?
Up to 20mph, but your speed and spreading width will be greatly reduced, 10mph and under windspeed youre probably never going to notice anything different
Great video! Those 3pt. Spreaders are starting to get popular here in Central Louisiana as well. I have seen a few Kuhn, one Amazone, and one kvernland(not sure if i spelled that right) in my area.
They offer a nice spreading option for high horse power tractors in row crops. I have seen these on 4wds and Quads in European videos. Kvernerland’s are distributed by Great Plains dealers as both implement brands are owned by Kubota.
I'm guessing in a lot of cases due to a mix of reasons anhydrous use, huge field size where trailed make more sense and the fact that it is delivered or picked up in bulk not bags.
It depends what style you need. The 3pt is a nimble option for tight turning. This same size is offered as a pull type and for mounting on self propelled sprayer chassis for dry applications.
This is why I love farming technology. Innovations like these make the job so much more efficient and effective.

Amazone spreaders are very common in the UK.
Greetings to the South African guy operating the spreader👌👍. Goeie Werk!
Wou sê hy klink Afrikaans maar die Man se engels taamlik aangetas deur die amerikaners, lekker man
Great video! We do apply dry fertilizer, both pre emerge and in crop with a 6195R JD and a mobility 600 pull type spreader.
Very cool. The 6195R is my favorite 6R.

Standard lift capacity is 15,200 lbs optional up to 20, 000 lbs.

Nice spreading team 👍👍👍
Moved on a bit from the little vicon spreaders I saw as a kid, late 70s early 80s...
The 8R size tractors sure have lead to the super sizing of equipment. This spreading team was impressive to watch in person.
114' spread is quite impressive! At that ground speed you can sure cover some acres in a hurry.
It’s a great set up for spreading across the rows.
That is a nice tractor and spreader
Very nice way to apply fertilizer. Ag Rev sells these in Hopkinsville. I hope we see more in the area.
Super💯video as always.

Thanks for the video👍👍
Their spreaders are becoming popular here in the U.S. that is a rough job having to shovel one out with 4.5 tons loaded.

It is a good machine and a good way to use a high horse power fixed frame tractor.
Awesome Video!

Definitely don't see those here very often
They are becoming more and more popular. They’re very effective for utilizing a high horsepower tractor and do a great job with their spread pattern.
WPS! We need to see more Arkansas Ag on this channel! Rice rice rice!
I am working on it 😁
Neat setup, don’t see spreaders like that here in north central Indiana.
It's Europe thing.

@@bigtractorpower that’s really neat 👍
Yes ive seen a few of these spreaders in the UK
They work well. Cover allot of ground with ease.

Hi from Dexter🏠Missouri
Is the spacing quite a bit wider than most row crop tractors? Looks like 72”?
I think cotton is usually done on 36 maybe 38" rows.
Most you see are set up for 30'" rows while they mentioned this was 38" rows, so should be 76" spacing if I've figured right
@@Beyonder8335 Right, 38" would be 76" between the centers of the inside tires.
@@Beyonder8335 ah thanks. Must have missed when he mentioned that.
Good observation. Yes in cotton and potatoes are both raised on wider rows at 38 inches which requires a wider wheel pass the run between the rows.
Good video.

Curious how much wind this thing could handle with those sensors and such while still holding a good pattern

Important for the yield.
Hi Jason,
At which speed they are running these spreader?
Tractor ground speed can be up to 20mph at 200 pounds per acre
@@iamfields606 wow, that's impressive. Thanks for your Feedback

i have the same spreader and mines that close to perfection it's not funny
