- Stretching is one of the most critical steps in processing astrophotos, and can be very challenging to get right. Master processor Adam Block returns to TAIC to talk about his new "Stretch Adademy" video series and demontrate some of the stretching techniques that will help you get the most out of your images.

I just, finally, got through all of this. While I didn't come close to fully absorbing all of it, I made a number of great gains in skill and knowledge - like how useful the lowly STF can actually be. Thanks to Adam and friends, I have massively s t r e t c h e d my knowledge and skills on the subject!
Absolutely outstanding Adam. Up till now, I have been kind of stumbling around in the dark (pun intended) with GHS, and this one video has taught me so much. Thank you.
This was great ! Thank you Adam.
Excellent presentation. I use starless images to stretch in GHS etc
Thank you Adam. One question about HDR Comp. You say that it's not necessary, but isn't only insofar as your data isn't saturated? It's clear the data you used isn't saturated, but when it is, aren't we forced to use HDR Composition?
I do not have PixInsight - Is it possible to explain stretching "in general" and then showing examples in different tools?
PI is great, but man I really hate the STF sliders!
It's so hard to see them, and even when I move them they often do nothing at all because of "reasons".
I'm sure they are probably good reasons, but it all seems very clunky. Like for any colour, 2 o the 3 sliders will do nothing, and the third slider will do nothing for 95% of the range, but then as it gets to one end it gets extremely sensitive.
Like Adam mentions, just having the nuke and the link buttons into the histogram functions would make a lot more sense.
In histogram transformation, how did you turn off the screen stretch? I did not see you mouse 20:31
How did he zoom in while in "Real Time Preview" at 1:14:36?
I am only seeing a 720p version. Is high res still being processed?
We only broadcast in 720p because Google Meet and other video meeting software cannot do screensharing at more than 720p, and we aim to keep the show livestreamed with live speakers.
@@TAIC There is a 1080p option in Google Meet now.
Looks like I can’t save the file from RUclips… Am I alone or…?????
