In reality, this was a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. it would've been much cheaper if they preserved the existing building and remodeled the interior. take a look at Akron's East high school for example, it's an original building from 1955, which was renovated around the late 2000s and escaped the wrecking ball. Hell, it even outlasted many schools in Akron. if they ever build a new high school here, it's gonna look like shit. A lot of the newer buildings are absolute junk with a lifespan of around 25 years. I bet the school district might regret this in the future if there ever is a future surge in enrollment.
