- **Back on the market by no fault of the home** This is your chance to get your foot in the door to West Virgina's largest and most prestigious historic district - Julia-Ann Square. Insert Real Estate Buzz Words and Phrases Here: "find of a lifetime", "vintage restoration", "HGTV special", "opportunity knocks", "Investment property", and don't forget "location, location, location". These are all true for this home! The house is functional and move-in ready; it just needs someone to love on it. Why not you? The exterior is rough. Really rough. Let's talk about what makes this house amazing today and not just some day in the future after some restoration. This classic 1895 Victorian home has all of its original woodwork. This alone makes this house incredibly valuable for the next owners, as no, they don't make them like this anymore. Not even close. Be the envy of your friend circle owning this masterpiece with two sets of opulent, fully functional - original - pocket doors, arched doorways, curved hallways, a spacious living room with perhaps the most ornate fireplace in the zip code, formal dining room with incredible built-in butler serving buffet and fun kitchen food pass through door - all touches from the Victorian era. Functionally this home has it all - four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, large, eat in kitchen, back stairwell, garage, huge basement, and 2,056 square feet of living space. This hidden treasure is located in West Virginia's largest and most Prestigeous historic district - Julia-Ann Square. The potential financial upside to restoring this home is actually quite remarkable. Get your foot in the door to Parkersburg's premier spot and stay or restore this sleeping giant and make a tidy sum on the back end. The average sale price in this neighborhood over the last 36 months, for move-in ready homes, is $260,000. This home is a steal. Come take it away. What you see is exactly what you get as this home is being sold as is.
Why say it has “potential”? This house is gorgeous as is-I hate it when people buy a beautiful old home and “modernize” it-they end up ruining something that can’t be replaced.
Well. That kitchen and bath needs to go!
@@DCGuy1997 I was going to comment about the kitchen needing a complete remodel as well. That current layout does not work.
Both look fine. A home shouldn’t have to be all granite countertops and new everything. There is so much waste in the world-people buy a nice older home and go into debt over their heads to replace everything that isn’t pristine and trendy. Then they turn it into something without character but which showcases how much money they can(‘t)afford to spend on useless renovations. Sometimes all the offending fixtures get salvaged but often it goes into a landfill. Even perfectly lovely new and trendy homes are being bulldozed for newer and trendier homes. I get annoyed watching “house shopping” shows on HGTV where people come in and wrinkle their noses at perfectly nice homes-“well THAT would have to go and THAT is a complete tear down!” Someone will probably come in and ruin this place.
@@user-fw8rm1yv3i I tend to agree that sometimes a renovation is not needed. Not in this case. There isn't any charm or character in those spaces in this home. The kitchen looks awful. And the placement of the cooktop makes no sense whatsoever. Bathrooms are horrible. Except for the claw foot tub. But that custom made cheap side table with the double glass bowl sinks is a terrible look. The glass bowl sink look was ugly when it debuted 30 years ago. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars to make something look nice.
@@DCGuy1997 I agree the glass bowl sinks are ugly…the rest seems fine to me-it may not have the same character as the rest of the house but it’s just my opinion that people are too often dissatisfied with what isn’t brand sparkling new. I think the kitchen looks homey though I agree about the cooktop as well. People seem so obsessed with homes being new and perfect. That kitchen reminds me of kitchens when I was growing up. Nothing wrong with that and I personally would leave it alone.
All that house needs is someone to love it enough to put it back to the way it was historically.😊
And a very fat checkbook for sure.
This house is gorgeous. I hope it finds somebody to love it.
I love this house. I don’t know how much it would cost to buy it but it would be worth every penny. You cannot buy the craftsmanship that is built into that home today.
The exterior needs help, rip out the carpet, and you’re good to go. What a gorgeous home!
the interior is absolutely stunning--what about being on the registry of historic homes for preservation?
There is a process to have some of the work done, but it’s actually very very lenient
And the pocket doors. SO.MANY.POCKET.DOORS. 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Wow! Gorgeous house.
It's beautiful as is! Maybe outside yard needs help? Luv it!!
According to Zillow it's $60,000. Amazing that the interior is almost completely intact. Would no doubt need new plumbing and electric, but you can't get woodwork like that anymore. The lot is tiny, but I guess not everyone wants a large yard. Other than the porch railings, the outside looks unmuddled, just needs a lot of old paint removal - but no vinyl siding!
Stop with the music and please describe the house 🤔
Great feedback. The video description may be helpful for you to see the details.
@@thecorderteamanchorrealtyl9187 Hi! an actual walk through is so much better than a lot of 'fancy' camera work. I have no idea how this house flows or how it's laid out. Disappointing.
Wow
Just curious, what is that big hole in the furniture piece in the blue room? It almost looks as if it was carved out. Lovely home!
The dining room? Thats just how the buffet was designed.
@@mid-ohiovalleyanchorrealty2933 Yes, thank you
I'm wondering too, Looks like it holds a soup tureen.. 🤔
The money pit.
Stove and sink on an island....no
Someone grab it before it becomes a meth house
Beautiful home, now plop it down on a coup!e of acres and I'll take it.
