This band kills it. Thank God something that actually rocks and cuts the mustard. The rhythm section is tight and the guitars are perfectly sat in the mids. Congratulations PPS.
I was listen to this while I was working and then, I received the news that will change my entire life. So, now I'm the happiest person, at least in my office. lol.
Saw PPS open for Illuminati Hotties and Fenne Lily recently. They could have been the closer I as far as I’m concerned. Hope to see them again next month on their headlining tour
I hear what people are saying about the drums, the compression etc - but let’s remember there’s more than one way to sound. personally I like the softer vocal-centred edge it gives to the songs, which are so well crafted. refreshing band
The drum dynamic is so peculiar, she plays so delicate. The voice melodies are so nise, she is so cute. Good band, thank you for your good job and so.....all the best for you
Saw the thumbnail… White Stripes? Started to listen… it took me a while. Crying is a great track, IDK if this is a live set or what but NPR should have edited it so the better song is sooner in the video than later. All in all, not bad.
@@pvet7620 The classic White Stripes aesthetic is not only red, it is mostly red with white and black details. Notice also how everyone in the band has black hair. The aesthetic of this band (at least in this video) is clearly White Stripes inspired, and there is nothing bad about that. My comment was meant as a joke, I don't dislike them because of how they look... I don't find them very original musically, but music doesn't have to invent anything to be interesting and great artists have always been taking inspiration from previous artists. Even White Stripes did that and many other people could consider them "unoriginal", so I don't think it makes sense to argue about these kind of things.
@@emmbee6552 oh yeah no doubt. I went and looked up more of their stuff. They do a good cover of Nada Surf teenage dirtbag, and the late 60s song crimson and clover.
they're so cool and deserve to be known
Here after the release of "Spinning" and "The mirror starts moving without me". Underappreciated band. 💙

These women (and dude) really bring it. Thanks for the introduction, Tiny Desk

Really cool band. Their album is great but I'm already excited for the next one
10:41. That guitar tone! Awesome!
Like Like Like Like Like Like!! Clothes, colors, sound, lyrics, tones. What's not to like?! Singer is honestly about as good as I've heard.
Really digged this. "Head cheerleader" was super dope.
Just great every song. A new fave!
Thanks for the introduction to this band. I loved them.
Thank you, now I have every single melody of this video stuck in my head, really good❤️
Didn't know this band. Really cool music.
I can see why people think they look like White Stripes, but I'm getting Garbage vibes with their sound (the band).
Totally agree!! It´s not about the looks, we need more women into rock, it's never enough!!!
@@joeldejesusgutierreznunez7126 Fully agree. The opportunity for full, interesting sound is endless with female vocals in my opinion.
Yea the first thing I thought when I heard them was Garbage meets Nirvana.
More alternative more rock more women lead singers 🔥🔥🔥
what matters is the music and....this sucks.

love at first sight. the violinist is awesome
The look, sound and attitude is awesome! What a unique and yet familiar sound of the 90s
I'm guessing this is a deliberate homage to the White Stripes since this band did a shot for shot remake of a Nada Surf video last year?
struck me the same way
Amazing performance, I'm a new fan! Shout out the bass player 🥰
Saw PPS open for Illuminati Hotties and Fenne Lily recently. They could have been the closer I as far as I’m concerned. Hope to see them again next month on their headlining tour
They should invite the Illuminati Hotties also to tiny desk
Where was that show?

😂 right! I gotta work in an hr!
how did i only find out about this band now! love theemmmmm
Love the guitarist and violist vibing in Head Cheerleader
THAT DRESS! THOSE COLORS! THIS SOUND! YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!
Such creamy guitar tones, love it so much
The aesthetic reminds me of the white stripes
Too close imo and without the minimalism
Yh I'm sure that was the inspiration
That or the nazis. I assume both are superficial.
Now that was something special to wake up to, many thanks
Bless you be well
I love how she's awkwardly squinting. Not sure if that's because of the lights or for dramatic effect. But I think it works.
Amazing band, amazing people, amazing music. LOVE!
Most incredible band around ❤️

Definitely too loud snare drum can get annoying. Many 80s records were ruined by excess of reverb in the snare
You guys did great! Awesome songwriting too ⚛️

Sure. They’re good at being who they are.
I'm so happy for her

Gorgeous guitar
Matthew Sweet look-a-like rocking out on the guitar
Really digging this!
Loved the music❤️
Do I hear faint sound of “smells like teen spirit”? I’m into it!
4 nerds and 1cheerleader, the highschool theme is on point. these guys rock too
My Goddddd, they sound amazing live as well, i need to see you pls come to Argentina someday
I think your great! Awesome sound! You had me soon as I saw violin …… keep going plz
Garth Marenghi on lead guitar.
THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO GO LISTEN TO THEIR ALBUM
Her singing reminds me of Marceline from adventure time lol
Omg yes
Sounds like influence from courtney love, nirvana and a bit of weezer.
Y'all, I'm red with love!!!!! ❤💋❤💋❤💋❤💋❤💋❤💋❤💋❤
I love the 90's!
I really like their sound, like the Cure or Death Cab but with better vocal chops and a violinist.
this is what rock needs
Love!

Tight rhythm section with the best drummer ears, hands down
Wow this set is so good! Love it.
I like that fender Jaguar
Your performance is very nice.
ジャガー使いは最高
Excellent in all ways...
lovely fiddler 😇🌹🎻
Errata: "Honeysuckle".
they shouldve done honeysuckle instead of crying or be good
First song sounds like Bertie Serveert. Nice.
Venga ya un NPR de Bandalos Chinos o Conociendo Rusia Please!!! Like other people said I feel Garbage vibes Let´s support more women into rock!!
I miss the desk
I DO love her shoes! So cool!
You are awesome keep doing 🎵 you're way always sounds great

Love this band the violent kinda threw me off though
Sonenclar, Clara Rose ? wish her the best , but is she really a rocky star ?
wooooooo!
Grunge is back?
It’s like she’s afraid those drums might break. I’ve seen people hit things harder using Q Tips.
Yes
Courtney bitching about her in 3.. 2.. 1...

They are a bit too many to be White Stripes costplayers
I think this is just for the tiny desk tho

its like silversun and warpaint
These guys would sound so good if the drummer wasn’t playing like the kit is made from Fabergé eggs
Lol spot on
Everything sounds so compressed.
There are other issues here too, but there are also a lot of people that will praise anything NPR promotes?
i've seen them live twice and they usually go a lot harder, I think there was some direction or choice to do a more lowkey set.
Great band. The mix of this performance isn't that great, sadly. You can barely hear the bass :-(
I feel like she wants to sing louder/ scream but is holding herself back. Everything sounds so compressed, from the voice to the drums.
I get the same vibes from her. It feels very constricting.
Very talented group tho
