    Although not the same bikes I do think my experience is relatable. I previously had a CBR650F and went for a test ride on the RS660 at Via-Moto and I hadn't even got to the first lights when I realised the difference was like night and day!! Similar to the review here, absolutely nothing wrong with the Honda and to be fair it was a good way back into biking after far too many away but it simply did a job and didnt excite. The Aprilia though is just so much fun I get off it everytime with a big grin on my face and for me at least it is much more comfy than the Honda, pressure on wrists was an issue with that but not on the Aprilia. Again I know I am talking about two different bikes to this video but I imagine the differences to be the same. 100% Aprilia over the Honda..even with a few 'technical difficulties' associated with a new model it's worth the £££ any day of the week!

    In the USA the two bikes are only $1,200 USD MSRP apart:
    CB650R $9299 USD
    Tuono 660 $10,499 USD
    That really makes the decision much more difficult if a person has $10k-$11k USD to drop on a new bike.
    Also worth noting that the USA Tuono has the same power as the RS660 instead of being the A2-compliant version.

    Nice comparison. Bought my Tuono in Paris a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. It's perfect for city rides and weekend jaunts. I test rode it against the Triumph Street and Speed triple and preferred the Aptilia for my purposes. Liked the 765RS too but more for track days. Next month the whole of Paris is becoming a 30km/h (18 MPH) zone🤬, so I guess I'll have ample power with the Tuono😪

    • @mostlymotorbikes

      @@mostlymotorbikes Yes, I'm devastated. Who can ride for a hour at under 30? My daily commute was half filtering anyway but at least there were stretches where I could ride normally. They are also bringing in paid parking for motorbikes as of the end of the year (1,000 euros per year). They want to stop all petrol vehicles from entering Paris but are too scared to ban them; so they just make it impossible by half-arsed measures that make no sense.

    Another factor - owners will be very surprised and disappointed if the Honda has any issues whatsoever in the first 5 years. Aprilia buyers expect to have issues in the first 3. Both ABS and traction control comes stock on 2021 CB. Also you CAN add quickshifter on Honda as well. You were probably reading specs for the older 2019-2020 version. I agree on the looks part Tuono is slightly better looking, but I think both bikes look really good.

    I’m definitely with you on this bro imo this isn’t a comparison the CBR 650R vrs Tuono 660. Tuono 660 is a better bike in every way unless you want a work horse then the CBR 650R makes sense so it definitely depends on what you want out of your bike. Imo the 660 against say something like a Triumph 765rs that’s more of a comparison so maybe that could be another video for the future 👍🏻

    Is it a fair comparison given the £3k+ price difference? At nearly £10k wouldn't a comparison with the Mt 09 or z900 be more worthwhile?... They might be old stock but GSX S 1000s are currently available for £9k... I would have to seriously want an aprillia given other bikes that are in the same price bracket.

    • @mostlymotorbikes
      @mostlymotorbikes  3 года назад +3

      It’s actually £2400 price difference. I incorrectly in the video (although I corrected it with the graphics). They are effectively the same engine size, similar HP and Torque. It’s absolutely a fair comparison. Price doesn’t dictate what class a bike is in. It’s the top end of price bracket in that segment but to be fair that Honda is a good shout for many use cases. For the record. The Tuono is a better bike than the Yam and Kwak too. Way more engaging and special

    • @chris_rides_kawasaki
      @chris_rides_kawasaki 3 года назад +1

      @@mostlymotorbikes I get your point, the Tuono does have that something. Perhaps it's just me, but when I went bike shopping I had a figure in my head of what I could afford, if that figure was in the £10k region I probably wouldn't look at the Honda. Whereas if my price bracket was around £7k I would be looking at the Honda and other bikes in that bracket.

    The 2021 used tuono 660 I found for 9,500 usd is the same msrp of a new Honda cb650 for 9,400 but it’s cheaper cause no tax and it’s barely been driven. I’m stressed out debating between buying it or not I really want that Honda but that tuono is great also. But neither are a true sports bike, I think the Honda will be better choice and later when I went a real super sport I’ll get a cbr600rr or cbr1000rr I’ll stick with my new 2022 cb650r I suppose but I love them both but the Honda is probably more practical for my first street bike, coming from motocross I raced all my life

    • @Curry3659
      @Curry3659 2 года назад +1

      I wouldn't really compare the two. The mt is much softer, probably on a shorter wheelbase and has nothing goin on at the top end. The aprillia is an everyday sports bike, the Mt is a overpowered city bike that can perform on one wheel the entire time. The Honda and the aprillia are in a different sport. The Mt is smiles per gallon for stop and go conditions. These other two are true weekend warriors that happen to be fun to commute on 2 or three times a week. I hope that sums it up for you. Now go do some wheelies on your mt

      You guys need to go ride a honda once. It's not slow, it's very well made, will last until the sun explodes. With the money you will save buying the honda, you could fix one or two problems you have with the bike. Better pads, better brake fluid and the thing will stop better. Possibly some thicker fluid in the forks, if your a bigger guy, and zx10 from some year always seem to fit these types of bikes. All of this could be done with less than the money you would save on purchase and insurance for a couple of years. Sometimes we listen too much to the kid in us and forget that a bike needs to run well to ride the damn thing. Taking the tuono to the shop is probably not going to be a one or two day thing. Plus that honda will probably last a roadtrip on 0 oil Pressure, but you'll still say the aprillia has a better engine.
