One thing that made Mike Tyson such a great fighter was his height, he never fought somebody shorter than him. This meant he always had the reach "disadvantage", which he actually turned into his greatest advantage, it meant that he could engage more of his body in his punches as he had too close the distance, once he was in there his shorter arms meant he could pummel them with full punches. While their longer arms meant they couldn't.
@@bigbear5767 Lennox Lewis rarely used his reach advantage, he would always brawl, great example when he fought Vitali Klitschko, the only time he used his reach was against Hasim Rahman in their 2nd fight, to avoid getting knocked out again. Obviously also have to point out Mike Tyson was far past his prime when he fought Lewis.

proper technique involves elements of all those to be sure, i find myself not particularly good at punching bags or machines, but deadly in a ring with gloves on, its weird.
