Armed with a (sadly) fictional €500,000, Reviews Editor Jack Haines searches the halls of Boot Düsseldorf to see what he can afford.
What brands can you afford for that budget? What sort of accommodation do you get? How many passengers can you carry and what sort of performance can you expect?
There is no better place to research boats side-by-side than the world’s biggest indoor boat show and this small selection shows what variety there is. With boats from the likes of Bayliner, Axopar and Beneteau - plus some REAL surprises - this a true reflection of what sort of new boat you can get for this budget in 2024.

great series idea; please keep going with these and increasing the budget. Perhaps even expand this idea to cover used too?
You should do this under 500 list at every single boat show. Very fun to watch!

I like the Jenneau, sensible day boat but enough accommodate for weekender.
Baveria SR41 nice good option.
Marex I like the option to totally enclose and the accommodations are good.
Nimbus is good quality for seating, the helm, galley outside area. Ok like it.
Cormate not a day boat I think more of a speed performance.
Parker Monaco - never heard of it. But theirs more to her than you think. She does the business.
Lomac the rib boat- she can move 50 knots,
Marax for me she is a good all rounder. But what about you Jack what would you have?
I love this series and I am interested to see the 1M tours, but could you also maybe do a 250k or even a 50k tour?

Love the Parker Monaco Fly, that's a brilliant design and great for maybe a couple getting into MY's. Those steps up to the fly look challenging Jack, could be interesting after a couple of G&T's!

Jack, great concept, great video, just like last time. But what on earth happened to the prices? Jeanneau Cap Camarat 12.5 only a year ago was priced under €200,000, the full version would be just under €300,000?! 😮

Yeah, the Saxdor 400 GTO/GTC was a pretty obvious omission. Fully spec’d, they are about 500k.
