Armed with a (sadly) fictional €100,000, Reviews Editor Jack Haines roams the halls of Boot Düsseldorf to see what he can afford.
What brands can you afford for that budget? What sort of accommodation do you get? How many passengers can you carry and what sort of performance can you expect?
There is no better place to research boats side-by-side than the world’s biggest indoor boat show and this small selection shows what variety there is. With boats from the likes of Bayliner, Axopar and Beneteau - plus some REAL surprises - this a true reflection of what sort of new boat you can get for this budget in 2024.

I’d love to see this as a series with 50k increments. With 100k the Bayliner VR6 Cuddy would be on my list too, but I would have added a nicely equipped Finnmaster T7 to the list, which would’ve been my top pick as it’s a lot more capable with its deep V hull, with the exception of the Axopar.
Great idea would love to see £150,000 and £200,000 videos aswell

Great idea for a boat show video Jack - I'm hoping you've done similar with budgets of 250k,500k and 1 million and teasing us before you release them! If i had to choose then for the space alone I'd pick the Karnic

I'd like to see a bunch of weekenders, maybe around €250k. Of today's crop, the Karnic and Beneteau stand out, and my ageing bladder control (sorry for oversharing) rules out anything without decent toilet facilities!

@@Yachtbuyer so what you get for £250k or £500k just a couple of choices for each category. Your choice not what is expected. Finally a boat that is like WB777 the jet ski boat.

The UK has the problem of that we need the shelter space. Even a sunny day can have showers. That usually pushes us up a bit in price range.

What long range livaboard cruiser or trawler or catamaran can you get?Something like swift trawler 30 or 35 or aventura 35.
Reading the comments below, i agree what can you get for £50k extra keep going till you reach £500k.
I would also like you to look at under £50k.
Do some for rivers, displacement ect.
Would be good if you could then add, the cost of maintaining the boat, i know thats a hard one, but storage etc
Love the idea and a fair price to search for. Are there any boats with enclosed WHEELHOUSE for 100k?? It‘s simply better with young kids or boating all year long.

Slightly confused the karmic bed is made up of multiple cushions seems strange that’s not also convertible to a dinette ? Great review I would like more of these comparisons, specific genres at various prices or the best all rounders etc I wasn’t excited to watch the video when the title came up just because you get an idea of the boats that might be coming so best but under 100k doesn’t seem that exciting but it was a great video and unfortunately still out of my price range but I could be a position to buy something like that one day if the stars align
Well.. if I had 100k for a new boat, it would be the Benetau, because it gives you a daily, a weekender enough space and you could slip it...
EB can be very economical because you might don't pay for fuel

Axopar, its basic yes but reliable and value for money and has everything uou need gor a day out. Versitality its s boat gor inshore, lakes, estuary, harbour taxi, going out to sea to a favourite place, transportable on a trailer. 2nd that jet ski boat, why because it different.

That would be superb ! I almost bought a genuine classic 1987 Hatteras 48 LRC for 85K last year . In turn key , ready to go , immaculate condition . So many gems out there that are off the normal radar @@Yachtbuyer
