Locker room experience/culture doesn't change. Only things that change are the players in the room and from time to time the coach's plan might change (either scheming for new players or new scheme due to new coach).
Chris and Eric are wrong!!!! If you’re the Spurs, Celtics, or New England Patriots, yeah you can trade and move on because of the system. But 95% of all teams can’t say that. John Gruden is a horrible coach. He got paid off of a TV show not his career performances. He doesn’t have a system to were he can replace Mack. Then Eric talks about players getting injured as if that’s the same as you trading your best player.

How should they have won when they let us come down the field with no time outs with less then a minute left score a TD and get a two point conversation then in OT we miss a FG all they gotta do is go 20 to 30yrds to kick a FG and win but they didn't but oh they should've won lol
Carr has had a new OC coach every year, it's hard to produce when you have to change your system every year, feel for the guy tbh #savetheriaders #betterpayoff #noDforyears

I always thought the biggest "Yeah, but" of that Gruden SB win was that Bill Callahan and the Raiders were still using a lot of the same play calls, allowing Tampa Bay's defense to know what was coming.
@John 117 cables actually an amazing o line coach all the years in oakland mcfadden had his best seasons we were always top 3 in rushing and he won a SB in seattle shouldve been 2 if lynch got the ball and before these injuries O line looked good
@John 117 thats because ha dshitty players they never drafted good ones or signed good ones that was widely known and yet lynch would ball out and they would still male playoffs and do decent. he proved first time in oakland when they were always top 3 in rushing with bush and mcfadden
True that. A lot of people are hating on Carr, but he’s been getting hit way too much. Having said that, I still think he’s performing worse than even his rookie year, and I expect a lot more from him. (Diehard Raider Fan)
yesterday's game in London definitely had a different feel to it compared to the Raiders first five games. the grinding mentality i've seen thus far was completely non existent. it felt like after Lynch got shut down on those first three runs, panic seem to set in. i don't think Oakland gave up, i think they were completely overwhelmed. i think there are enough veterans on this team who truly care about their craft enough that they won't allow a complete throwing in of the towel. if you believe what CC said, 'any people that know Jon Gruden, know Jon Gruden is not about losing" then i think there will be some serious gut checking going on over the bye week. it might not translate into a lot of future wins, but hopefully they will at least stay competitive. lastly, until Oakland gets the O-line sorted out, it doesn't matter who they have in the backfield, under center or even defensively, they gonna struggle. Win lose or tie, Raider until I die.
Nick is spot on. Mark Davis has a lot of anger towards the city of Oakland. All these moves coupled with the eagerness to give up home games all season to focus on new fans elsewhere. Maybe Oakland should have dealt with Al while they could.
Heiden lost that team when he traded the kicker King and how he treated Mack. They don’t want to play for him. The owner needs to cut that $100 million check and cut his losses. Should have hired Josh McDaniels
The thing about rebuilding is that teams are incentivized to lose. The worse you perform, the higher you pick next season. It's a little f'ed up. I guess it's now called "trusting the process."

This team was already horrible and dysfunctional before Gruden took over and now everyone just blaming Gruden give the man a year or two and then start to judge if it’s a failure or not
I've been saying that and that's why the Mack trade was a good trade for us cuz all the guys Reggie drafted besides Mack Carr and Gabe Jackson and Cooper did not pan out and gruden got rid of them gruden had a good draft besides our record u can see that the rookies he drafted are playing a lot and are playing good and that's our future and his future if we keep losing so be it we might end up with Nick bosa in the draft and some other good young defensive player once we traded Mack it was clear that this was a rebuilding season

They're just like 19 other teams in the league. They have a QB who can be great to below average depending on his situation. Right now, they're in a transition, obviously, from the fact they changed their head coach and Mack trade. Unless you have one of the top tier 6, you need a supporting group for your QB. Right now, they don't have that. HOWEVER, with those picks they got from the trade, you can bet they'll improve next year. I'm not a raiders fan btw
CC is an all time great receiver that’s why he knows these kids. He wrote lots of us letters in high school even before college.. he’s not the only one, but it is funny that he say that about everyone lol
I called it two years ago when Carr broke his finger playing the panthers. He broke it, let the ball fall didn’t try to jump on but instead ran backwards away from it. He is not that good
shaolinWOLF36 say what you want about how he’s only played 7 games in his short career, but don’t you EVER throw Carr’s name in with mahomes ever again. I’m taking the younger, more talented kid, who’s 6-1 as a starter (people forget about the Denver game week 17 of last year), who just went toe to toe with the greatest quarterback of all time in New England, who’s currently your NFL MVP leader as of now. Will mahomes have some growing pains? Absolutely, and as a huge chiefs fan, I’m ready for them. But never, ever compare Carr to Mahomes again. The Raiders spent a ton of money on a QB who’s just not that good. There’s a reason the Chiefs are 5-1 with a horrendous offense.
wait a minute, i agree with alot that you say, but a horrendous offense?? Tyreek Hill, and Kelce, the best TE in the league among other offensive weapons, as well as Andy Reid, who is the godfather of modern day west coast offense, is not a "horrible offense" plus their defense is pretty good too.
raidermax23 clearly I meant to say defense, my bad. The chiefs offense is debatably the best in the NFL, but the defense in Kansas City is terrible, being a chiefs fan who’s watched every game front to back so far, that’s easy to see 😂. I meant to say defense that’s my bad.
I'm not sure how Raiders are in rebuilding mode when they were just 12-4 2016. I understand that the QB went down in 2017 but this was a playoff team till John Gruden took over.
Jon Gruden loved DeVante Parker coming out college, into the NFL. Amari on the trade block & Adam Gase getting frustrated w Parker’s health... SWAP RECEIVERS!
I believe in Gruden he is rebuilding the raiders they will be good trust the process. Raiders fans act like their team wasn't bad before Gruden got their. 5-11 last year isn't any better then the 1-5 start this year. Giants fan btw
This guy just said jon gruden won super bowl with buc and those weren't even his guys... uh he just also is going in with these players... give the guy some time
Whats going on in Oakland literally wants to make me get teary eyed. This is my childhood team, they were showing so much promise. The Mack trade is horrible imo. They have already packed it in. Get out of town already.
Gruden is rebuilding the team and the players know it. I remember telling ppl that Gruden will get rid of the players McKenzie drafted and get his own. I was called a "hater". I wonder what Gruden said to Nelson (wr) to get him to sign with the team.
Carr doesn't throw the ball his way when he's open, Cooper is fine, but the QB has to pass the ball your way. Why isn't Carr throwing the ball Cooper way. Cooper had one big game and a good game against the Brown's. In the game against the Chargers, one or two passes despite being wide open many times during the entire game. Gruden sees this when he watched the tapes.
Gruden probably did make some early mistakes that is now costing the Raiders this season. But I think in the next few seasons he will have the Raiders back on top.
@@cjwillits6284 he's right tho how you going to say something about a player not having yrds when one his first catch which was plus 20yrds was called back cuz a lineman was holding then two he got knocked out of the game early with a concussion
I think might be on to something about Gruden trying to get his type of players. Watch Amari Cooper and Derek Carr might be off the team. He might tank this season and next season until 2020.
You could have paid off Mack but that still wouldn't have had them winning lots of games. Carr is causing them to win games. Mack couldn't have saved them from losing these games really.
it's not hard to figure out what went wrong with the raiders. going from one of the top young teams in the AFC back to their post Super Bowl appearance form, trade away one of the best young defensive players in the league, and bring in a head coach who hasn't been on the sidelines in a decade and was overrated when he was on the sidelines. after gruden won the super bowl with Tony Dungy's team, by defeating his own team, look at his record. it was downhill from there.
I finally agree with nick... he's right they gave up because what gruden did with mack.. reggie McKenzie is gonna get fired because of gruden is sabotaging this organization
Chargers fan, my uncle loves Oakland so we got a nice little rivalry, I think if they pick up kapernick use their first round picks well next year Oakland Will be a force. Don't ever count out a team because of 1 bad year (unless your a browns fan then it's iffy) I think the raiders will bounce back look at the chiefs been awful for such a long time the Broncos and chargers have been better in recent memory things will change for the better good luck raiders this division is getting spicy I love it
Chris trading a talent like Kalil Mack can be a difference maker with a team & create a negative spirit that lingers. Look at Grudens salary. Look at their record. Why is that Chris? JOHN GRUDEN!!!!
Every one is in shock and awe of why the Raiders are in such turmoil. And of course Jon Gruden is the blame. But no one wants to consider that Jon Gruden even being a " ONCE SUPER BOWL WINNING COACH " is nothing less than a rookie coach now. Because over the course of his absence from football a lot was lost . And he has a far greater responsibility to making a new Jon Gruden team. When he once coached the Raiders it was his team, the one he built. So its going to take a while for that team status to return. Trading people and drafting and shifting positions to fit the right people. That does not happen in the course of six months. Three years from now if the Raider Organization is patient the Raider Nation will rise again. Gruden got fired by Al Davis because he was impatient after Gruden lost the AFC Championship with a quarterback much like Derek Carr. Rich Gannon excelled against weak defenses and shined when he was playing against weaker teams. But when the chips were down and Championships were on the line he couldn't win the big one. Jon Gruden himself proved that point to Al Davis and grinded salt into his wounds. When they returned and entered the Super Bowl against Gruden and the Buccaneers. Gruden proved that Gannon was trash and wasn't able to win the big one. But it takes time....Gruden has already been placed under the microscope for the Khalil Mack trade. But I really believe his idea behind that was simple. People who hold out and refuse to come to camp while negotiating their contracts. Are the kind of people who become distraction's and gripe and complain about everything. And that was not going to become an issue for him while he's tediously trying to piece his puzzle together.Being a first year coach all over again has a lot of fixing to do when you inherit some one else's team. That's already broke. It will happen he will rise again. Right now its a testing period not just for his players but his assistant coaches. He's testing his own choices of these first season assistant coaches as well. Was his picks perfect for the jobs they have been handed? Did he actually find the right fit to raise this football team to the level its going be at.
This is simple. The Raiders gave $100 mil guaranteed to a coach that was out of the game for 10 yrs. Sitting in a booth breaking down film and having his lil QB sessions IS NOT COACHING !!! Gruden can't relate to the generation of players that are in the game today and it shows by him releasing King and trading Mack. No way does he make it past year 3 of this ridiculous, idiotic contract.
Really.....you now need even more pieces to be competitive as Nick said this is gonna be at least 6 years of rebuilding at minimum and Jon Gruden is not the kinda person that nurtures young talent or helps to fix confidence issues.
@@user-gr6qx3up6w the only problem with that is Gruden does not want OB. No one does, I'd bet my life that the giants tried to trade beckham cuz they know he's detrimental to the franchise but guess what 31 other GM's and coaches see the same thing and dont want to give up multiple picks to take on an injury prone locker room cancer.
@@user-gr6qx3up6w and he definitely dont want eli lol...you think the giants o-line is bad? You should see the raiders, the entire line is either playing injured or out injured. Derek carr almost died yesterday lol
I think the Raiders are tanking this season and next too. The move to Vegas will be a whole new team with a new QB to run it. After seeing how the Knights did there, the Raiders want the same with a new team to be adopted by the locals.
Were you surprised by the Raiders’ loss?
No, why would you? The team is Garbage and shpild be 0-6
Was surprised by how many points they lost by. Completely got manhandled on all phases of the ball.

Exactly
The Mack trade hurt but Jon just isn’t a good coach🤷🏽♂️
I hardly know NFL, but the quality of the commentary and analysis is impressive. UK soccer programmes - please learn from US sports!
CC Gruden just signed a 10 year contract he is looking towards 2020
Spent too much money on Derek Carr and Jon Gruden instead of just paying Khalil Mack
I always thought the biggest "Yeah, but" of that Gruden SB win was that Bill Callahan and the Raiders were still using a lot of the same play calls, allowing Tampa Bay's defense to know what was coming.
But that 2002 Bucs defense was the one of the best of all time and had also performed in the regular season and the playoffs PRIOR to that SB!

The Raiders and the Giants have the worst offensive lines in the NFL! The Browns and the Jets thank them for taking their places as the worst!

Jon Gruden loved DeVante Parker coming out college, into the NFL. Amari on the trade block & Adam Gase getting frustrated w Parker’s health... SWAP RECEIVERS!
Cris is right in football you can only control the controllables and keep on going
Even midwives don't have coaches (who keep on yelling for months to get it together).
Jon Gruden has transformed the Oakland Raiders into the Oakland Goonies....
I believe in Gruden he is rebuilding the raiders they will be good trust the process. Raiders fans act like their team wasn't bad before Gruden got their. 5-11 last year isn't any better then the 1-5 start this year. Giants fan btw
Gruden is getting back at the Raiders for firing him the first time while collecting a check 😂😂
Jon Chip Kelly Gruden
Ripped the heart & soul of the Raiders out.
Gruden is a heavyweight champ that’s been Commentating since retirement... step into the ring and got popped in the kisser... and it shows
Gruden probably did make some early mistakes that is now costing the Raiders this season.
But I think in the next few seasons he will have the Raiders back on top.
Just get them draft picks load them up!! And goo BIG IN THE DRAFT !! 🤘
Chris Carter is dumb if he thinks taking the heart and soul out of a teams locker room should have no effect on the players performance.
Imagine the Raiders had a generational player on their DLine. A shame they never had a player of Khalil Mack´s caliber.
He IS looking to 2020!!! How can you not see that?
Amari Cooper had no yards. How can you do anything if you are not giving your best receiver some touches? Also Khalil Mack
cooper left the game after a few drives idiot
Adam k. There’s no need to call him an idiot because you’re salty
@@cjwillits6284 he's right tho how you going to say something about a player not having yrds when one his first catch which was plus 20yrds was called back cuz a lineman was holding then two he got knocked out of the game early with a concussion
lucious Lee he may be right but there’s no need for him to call him an idiot just saying, he’s right with the info so just say that then leave
Jon Gruden laughing straight to the bank with this. Ha, hahahahahaaaa.
Jon Gruden should give back that contract and to go jail for treason .
it's not hard to figure out what went wrong with the raiders. going from one of the top young teams in the AFC back to their post Super Bowl appearance form, trade away one of the best young defensive players in the league, and bring in a head coach who hasn't been on the sidelines in a decade and was overrated when he was on the sidelines.
after gruden won the super bowl with Tony Dungy's team, by defeating his own team, look at his record. it was downhill from there.
I finally agree with nick... he's right they gave up because what gruden did with mack.. reggie McKenzie is gonna get fired because of gruden is sabotaging this organization
Go Raider's...
It's all a plan; gather a bunch of early picks to add excitement for the Vegas move.
Las Veges"Trust The Process"Raiders
Chargers fan, my uncle loves Oakland so we got a nice little rivalry, I think if they pick up kapernick use their first round picks well next year Oakland Will be a force. Don't ever count out a team because of 1 bad year (unless your a browns fan then it's iffy) I think the raiders will bounce back look at the chiefs been awful for such a long time the Broncos and chargers have been better in recent memory things will change for the better good luck raiders this division is getting spicy I love it
Gotta bench Carr and swap his entire offensive line and give the ball to beast mode
3:39 "he is the kinda guy you would introduce to your partner daughter?" Lol what?
If Denver was winning I would be so happy about this.
stop blaming the defense
Why don't you discuss the hit on cooper
Stick with carr and rebuild that O line quick before he gets even more butchered...give him time with Gruden to succeed...they better not trade him
Nick Bosa!!! Go Raiders!!
Come to Dallas Cooper
they need a pass rusher...
If Chucky hits a home run or 2 with all their draft picks next year , he will suddenly be a genius again
al davis said a coach should never coach more than 10 yrs with a team
FYI: Gruden won that super bowl with a Tony Dungy built team!!!!
Chris trading a talent like Kalil Mack can be a difference maker with a team & create a negative spirit that lingers. Look at Grudens salary. Look at their record. Why is that Chris? JOHN GRUDEN!!!!
Gruden should’ve stayed in the broadcast booth!
Trading Amari Cooper? Wow!
What did the Raiders do to Jordy Nelson? Haven't heard from him. Are the Raiders even using him?
santinizzy barely
Jordy lost a step after that knee injury. Devante Adams right now is as good as prime Jordy, but better than him right now. Sad to say.
@@greenlazuli2154 When I heard he got traded to the Raiders I thought he would still be doing alright.
@@thechaddingo2677 Jordy was great with the Packers. Now I hear he gets like three passes. Yeah, I've seen Adams ball out.
santinizzy he signed not traded
If A.cooper don't like Gruden I don't like gruden anymore
“John Gruden is not about losing.” John Gruden is not about winning... never was a winner.
Meaning Nick is on to something
The second they took gruden, they where shooting themselves in the foot as an organization.
Two words playboy - John. Gruden.
Players ain't drinking the Gru Brew.
I told everyone that Gruden wasn’t some magic pill. They should have stuck with Del Rio and stuck with what is working.
This is a mess....
Jimmy Johnson tanked it on purpose to build a dynasty in the early 90s with draft picks.
The Raiders are playing for draft picks, the RAIDERS will be fine come 2019 and beyond, coach Gruden is the man...
Really.....you now need even more pieces to be competitive as Nick said this is gonna be at least 6 years of rebuilding at minimum and Jon Gruden is not the kinda person that nurtures young talent or helps to fix confidence issues.
@@connorcalder8191 Coach will get it done in three seasons and he's great at nurturing young talent.
If you're the Giants do you look into Derek Carr?
Lml, nah we gonna ride out with Eli this year. Get a high draft pick. Then get a QB an O lineman
If I’m the Giants I look at Cooper and Carr for Eli and Odell since Odell wants to be Hollywood. Odell can play in Vegas in the big stage.
Mike Bostic I think they should I don’t see a qb in this draft that could have higher upside than Carr
Maybe Cooper can move to New England, winning is a beautiful thing.
The defense was bad with or without Mack .
I think the Raiders are tanking this season and next too. The move to Vegas will be a whole new team with a new QB to run it. After seeing how the Knights did there, the Raiders want the same with a new team to be adopted by the locals.
