How ironic that the green broken marble she deemed unfitting was exactly what the troll toy wanted. If only she had seen the beauty in those broken, then she would have never lost them.
But she didn't get what she wanted. She was so distracted by the possibility she threw away what she had on something that she would have known was wrong if she'd taken the time to look it over more carefully. That poor pup. T_T
Love this because it's the best representation of life. You can't have everything you want without sacrifice, and this just cuts so deep. A wonderful animation.
See, I'm the type of person who would buy the doll with a missing eye. She wouldn't have stayed on the shelf long if I'd have seen her. I love dolls with oddities. Gives them a sense of personality.
That’s the thing me and my mom always did. We always would pick the doll or toy that is damaged or a little weird, because we knew people would probably not get the broken or different doll/toy. To me it makes the toy all the more special. Plus we got a discount!
I think she worried about being “fixed” more than helping. With her eye and the sticker on her box she focuses on making everything “perfect” again, and when she fixes toys, she finds things that match them (like the penguin’s eye) to make them look “fixed”. It’s why she rejected the cracked marble. It was damaged and wasn’t the same as her other eye, so it wouldn’t make her “fixed”. A good representation of how humans try to hard to be “perfect” when in reality the damaged parts give character and personality that someone “fixed” and “healed” can’t possibly have.
She was meant for a wonderful cause like her other doll friends. But what she was designed for she never got to experience. Her heart and mind was attached to one motif, the sticker that said, “To be fixed.” It was her destiny, she reasoned, above all else. Meanwhile, on her quest to find something to better herself she finds a little companion. But even then, she didn’t think long and hard over what was truly valuable in life. The green marble that was cracked, she didn’t see the value in that either. Because in her mind and experience, all things broken are worthless. Whereas the scrap dealer and the eye collector knew better- in fact they even treated the cracked green marble as money! (Kind of like torn paper currency.) It wasn’t an eye that she was missing; She was missing a heart. And so, she learned a hard lesson, and it will eventually hit her that her life was made to have many sorts of friends, great and small.
Oh my gosh, this is probably the best short I've ever seen. Extremely poignant, and it doesn't fix the problem right away, but forces the protagonist to live with a bad decision.
This is beautiful! I love how each character's voice is represented by a different musical instrument. Amazing concept, design, animation and sound design but a sad story.
I find it crazy to think that, as a child, I would love a broken doll like that! I would think it’s the prettiest thing, and it looks like time hasn’t changed a thing
It's so sad. It shows that nothing and nobody is perfect. We should live with our imperfection and not give up on who we love. Thank you for sharing this film.
1:20 when she's sewing the penguins other eye on, on the table on the same side where the still intact eye is, theres a drawing of a eye, and on the opposite side theres an x carved into the wood too
So many good hints before the reveal. The drawing, the bg art, the way the dog led her around debris. And on that note, she lost her friend, but also her guide dog.
@@AdmiralJota Yea, and then she finds him with that better owner. And hopefully she’ll be content that her dog is at least safe. As for her, she can keep fixing other toys so that they too might get a chance in life.
(ToT) why did it end like that! I guess it helps the message stick. I hope the doggie was traded to an owner who will appreciate him more. Still, I guess she needed to learn to love herself before she could be in a place to give love. ❤
I'm almost afraid of the replies this will get but she's the only brown doll on the shelf. Maybe if the girl had been more careful when reaching for her, she wouldn't have ended up broken. And after she was broken, she was skipped over because of her imperfection and the promise was never fulfilled. That's a point I don't see a lot of people mentioning. So when she finally had a chance to be whole, like the other dolls, maybe filling the void of being passed over, she lost something important to her. It's a subtle parallel, don't know if it was intentional though.
Una ves se me rompió la cola de mí picachu 😢 pero eso no me inporto ya que tuve buenos momentos con el, y ahora ❤❤❤❤ no lo uso 💔 pero lo tengo en una mesa para apreciarlo mucho 💗💗💝
The puppy knew what she was looking for and tried to help by giving her the closest thing he could find. She wanted the real thing so much she gave up the puppy who cared so much for her. She remembered that just before trying to put the eye in.
How ironic that the green broken marble she deemed unfitting was exactly what the troll toy wanted. If only she had seen the beauty in those broken, then she would have never lost them.
You got what you wanted, but you lost what you had.
Not really the eye didn’t fit
And not to mention that she didn’t get what she wanted anyways.
Not about this film but I really got goosebumps for some reason
THE PRINCESS AND THE ROG?
But she didn't get what she wanted. She was so distracted by the possibility she threw away what she had on something that she would have known was wrong if she'd taken the time to look it over more carefully. That poor pup. T_T

She already sacrificed a lot before she traded the dog for an eye
Idk that’s not true. I have gotten what I wanted and sacrificed nothing just worked hard and saved to get it. Didn’t lose anything but gained a lot.
The green glass ball was the thing she needed all along, but a missed opportunity is gone forever sometimes.
But it wasn't. The eye was never going to fit... Maybe she should have accepted her imperfection.
See, I'm the type of person who would buy the doll with a missing eye. She wouldn't have stayed on the shelf long if I'd have seen her. I love dolls with oddities. Gives them a sense of personality.
I'd either keep a doll with a missing eye as is, or try and make a new one that has a fantastical color
hell yeah, we love abnormal/imperfect dolls in this household
That’s the thing me and my mom always did. We always would pick the doll or toy that is damaged or a little weird, because we knew people would probably not get the broken or different doll/toy. To me it makes the toy all the more special. Plus we got a discount!
Wow. You guys sound so cool🤩
Same

This had such a beautiful message. I love what this sort is about. Some people never realize the importance of something until it’s gone.
Moral of the story: always see if the thing fits before you buy it
Finally a comment that's not super deep. Just hilarious and straight to the point.

Such a sad story~ love the character design and the bg layouts
We need a sequel does she find and save him or does he find a better owner but still loves her ?
Yes please.
This is beautiful! I love how each character's voice is represented by a different musical instrument. Amazing concept, design, animation and sound design but a sad story.
When your trying not to cry because your watching this on a busy train 😢
I find it crazy to think that, as a child, I would love a broken doll like that! I would think it’s the prettiest thing, and it looks like time hasn’t changed a thing
We need a sequel. In fact, we need a series. I gotta know how their world got like this in the first place.
You better make a sequel to this video because I thought it was beautiful and I thought the ending was sad. I like a video with a good resolve.
You break it, you buy it! That little girl should have never gotten away without buying that doll
YOU CANT LEAVE US LIKE THAT
I really dig the idea of a post-apocalyptic Toy Story.
I wonder if she’ll ever find the right eye and find her pet
I hope so.
@@kristinelee8588 may God be with her
Someday
@@rainbowmane3233 oh yes, someday she’ll find the right eye and finding her pet
the dogggg 😭😭😭😭 pls give us at least a separate endinggg
Cherish those who care.. and never throw away a good friend.

I'm not crying you are... That ending hit dude. The animation was so good too!!

Honestly, would love to get the doll with the missing eye. The crack kinda looks like a cool scar
I was planning to go to bed, but now I need to find something to cheer me up.
Ayo??? I wanna see the concept art for this it's so cute
I actually have an idea for a graphic novel series based on the concept of this short.
That would be copyright infringement and just rude.
@@rabbitguts2518Oh this is completely different than this.
I have an idea for a nickelodeon original movie
u have to ask them it was their idea
An idea/concept cannot be copyrighted. OP could use the same exact concept. They cannot use the same exact story or characters from the short.
Awe so sad, but such an amazing story. And the animation and landscapes were so cool.
She thought she had to be perfect to be loved so she tried fixing herself. Not realising she was already loved. That’s something I need to learn.
Be careful what you trade, because you might lose something or someone that you most value.
So many good hints before the reveal. The drawing, the bg art, the way the dog led her around debris. And on that note, she lost her friend, but also her guide dog.
She did not lose it. She Betrayed its trust and Sold it off.
Please make a sequel where she finds the dog! PLEASE!
Yeah the dog was really cute and now it's gone!! 💔💔💔💔
Or how about one where the dog finds a better owner who won't just trade it away for their own desires?
@@AdmiralJota Yea, and then she finds him with that better owner. And hopefully she’ll be content that her dog is at least safe.

Yes, I would also love a sequel.
Pets love you regardless of your flaws. I couldn’t give mine up for anything. They are endless love.
...I came to RUclips to laugh, not to cry
I understand the lesson learned behind this short but watching this really broke my heart 💔
I hope she finds her doggy 🐕❤
Dude the messages behind this is beautiful
oki people make up a happy ending after this to be relived 👇
NOOOOOOOOO IT CANT END LIKE THIS
The dog THE DOG!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Really good animation and unique, inspiring concept. I am especially grateful for the lack of happy ending.
Sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone
The world won't fix you but break u even more
I collect black dolls especially Tiana dolls. I just brought one of American girl doll. I have 3 historical black dolls. ❤
Geez 😢. I wasn't prepared for this today
No puede terminar así 😢😢😢😢😭😭😭
This... reminds me of myself. ?.
Never being grateful and always regretting
It makes me angry that she would just throw away her friend for a chance to have an eye
Love my black characters ❤

I did not come here to be treated like this! 😢
Looks like you don’t know what you had until it’s lost
PSA to try before you buy
woahh this is interesting :0
really gotta appreciate the things you have in life!
You only see the worth of something once it’s gone
Super cute and sad! Loved it!

Let’s do it in the comments! I’ll start: she goes searching around, finds another green ball, trades it for the puppy.
My heart is broken! 😭😭😭😭
This disturbs me to a fundamental depth.

No van Hacer una segunda parte que la muñeca encuentra su perro
This is so unsatisfying what happened to the dog? And why was that green round object so important?

The dog reminds me of the book little manfred cause it includes a little toy dog that looks like that
