what a cluster! Alienware sure didn't make it convenient to replace a battery I will toss my Alienware and buy something better designed! Bravo to you for attempting this mess...
This was an awesome Tutorial, Thank you!. I just finished replacing the battery of my Laptop Alienware 17 R4 and it was a success. It is a lot of work but nothing complicated.
It's always recommended to use the same specs battery for replacement for optimal performance even though a different specs battery with the same physical caracteristics could fit and work with no issues. The computer will still treat the battery as a 65wh battery which can lead to charging issues or swelling overtime. So using a different battery is taking chances
That is more less complicated than my Alienware 15 R2, the Battery location of that one requires serious surgery. Mine is old so I prefer not to touch or remove anything, Batteries usually Dies first. All I did was Unplug it.

I don't understand your question, but it took me about an hour to replace the battery and the new battery last 2h30min on average use, and more than 3 hours on battery saving mode. It's just like the factory battery.
DO YOU STILL have this laptop? i keep replacing the swollen battery every year as it gets swollen and the fan keeps making so much noise even when its DOING NOTHING-mUST BE A DEsign Flaw with DELL
Yes, I still have this laptop 5 years running strong. Let's say that it requires some fan cleaning often especially if you are a heavy gamer. Your environment also affects it, like using it on the bed which is so detrimental as the fans are always suffocated and lint gets inside the fans. If your battery keeps going bad, insure that you are using the right charger (330 Watts). It's such a big laptop that most people tend to keep the charger connected and use it as a desktop computer. That's very bad for the battery and the SSD drives life span. Always insure you are buying genuine batteries
@@YvonSmart i dont think keeping working with electricity without a battery like i do affects the ssd drives. Now i keep it permanently plugged to power without any battery inside and its more efficient that way-no bloating, no fan noise and its lighter.do you still have your LAPTOP?
Usually it's possible but some recent laptops with build in batteries won't run correctly or even turn on at all. But it should work perfectly on Alienware. You could just leave the dead battery inside unless it's swollen like mine
