To be honest I think lectric had been watching alot of you tube videos of customers upgrading their ebikes and decided to go ahead and do those upgrades them self . Which means alot to me and future customers . Great job Lectric. Like always they listen to the customers. 👍👍😎
I have both 2.0 & 3.0 in LR ST. I am extremely disappointed with my 3.0 not being able to have full throttle on assist level 1 or 2. I would teach people to take off with the throttle then pedal. But now the 3.0 has to be on pedal assist 3 or higher to get the throttle to go full. SO now when you take off in level 1 or 2 the bike has very little power, 2 amps in level 1 to get going with the throttle. It almost gets stick in the grass, its got no take off power anymore. Nothing like the 2.0. I like a new ridder to start out on level 1. Not have them flying on level 3 when they start peddling just staring out. There is no way to change this throttle problem. I talked to Lectric & was told the new controller PWR can not be changed to get full throttle in level 1 or 2 anymore. Has to be on level 3 or higher. This just bites! Setting 23 to #1 does not change the throttle power on assist level 1 or 2. Had my 3.0 for 2 days & looks like I will be selling it. Yes the 3.0 bike rides better than the 2.0 but the new controller bites on the 3.0. Lectric's new "ONE" bike you can change this but that is the only bike you can change the throttle response on level 1 or 2. Unless you bump to level 3 or higher, when you take off with the 3.0 bike it is now ballsless. Same for coming to a hill in level 2. Hitting the throttle does nothing! You have quickly bump to assist level 3 so you have throttle control. This just bites on the 3.0
This is also my biggest issue with the bike and it was not advertised. I think I preferred the 2.0 also just because of the throttle. Only had my 3.0 for a few days, guess I should have seen your comment earlier
I have 3, 3.0 & they all jump out on, throttle only in PAS 2 quickly to 14.5 mph. PAS 1 will throttle alone to 5 mph. My XP cargo will throttle only up to 18.4 mph
Nice to see all these upgrades, and that Lectric is listening, but most of us have got what we bought. That's the trick with buying anything these days-before you know it, there's something better.
Obviously they’ve been listening to user comments and that they can make these improvements and keep the price at $1,000 is impressive. The one flaw that I’m surprised they didn’t address is the kickstand. It’s really cheap and can hyperextend, if you will, which means the bike will fall down. I’ve inserted a tiny binder clip to reinforce the contact area but I know others have complained that the plastic body itself breaks easily. Glad to have you back, Chris.
The kickstand that comes on the premium is a monster. Have left it down for numerous wack's and it's tough. The contact pad is also much larger and reinforced. Would be the perfect upgrade as it looks like the bolt holes are the same.

Thank for the video. You said that Slim came in the tires already, is that only in the extended version? How would I know that, I just bought the XP 3.0.
I’ve enjoyed my 2.0! The only issue I’ve had is the comfort seat spring blowing out like mentioned in the video. The seat was squeaky from the get go. I tried to fix it but it kept coming out. I actually saw a video of a guy welding the seat spring on. I went with a Cloud 9 seat which has been much better. Although I am tempted by that Selle Royal now!
The Revere Shimano Acera RD-M360 SGS derailleur is no longer available on Amazon. Any recommendations for an alternative derailleur to use with the new 14-34 flywheel?
Hi Chris. Great video! Can you confirm the operation of the new 3.0 forks? We recently got a couple, and I am fairly certain that they work differently than the 2.0 forks did. The lever on the right fork tube only moves a quarter turn, and is obviously a spring-loaded detent taking the forks in and out of lock position, whereas the knob on the left fork tube seems to function as it’s labeled, altering the preload on that particular fork. The 3.0 manual still describes them functioning as the 2.0 forks did, with the lever on the right fork tube doing the locking AND preload adjusting, with the knob on the left fork tube just being a dust cover. In recent conversations with customer service reps at Lectric, they are sticking with the information in the owners manual. I’m pretty sure that that’s not correct any longer?
Curious what your doing. I have all plans of getting my just purchased bike set up so I can run directly off of solar with a MPPT booster. Have heard there may be an issue with getting the bike to run rather than turning into a brick and kind of see this as it will not turn on if the AC charger is plugged into the bike. If that's the case I couldn't even through a Jackery in the trailer. Thoughts?
Chris, between the two upgrades that you made on your 2.0 Lectric, and you could only choose one, which one would you do and that had the most impact on you, the hydraulic brakes or changing to the larger flywheel?
I have the xp2.0 and I'm curious if you like the 3.0 sensor better. Some have said they prefer the 2.0. I'm not sure if I should spend another grand on the 3.0. Thanks!
I got the long range battery for my 2.0 ,haven't got to see how far I can go yet. But already have gone more than the 15 miles I got on the old one. With two now, I'm set to go as far as I'll ever need!
Chris, I am about to upgrade my XP 1.0 with the 11-34 flywheel and the new Acera derailleur that you recommend. Did you have to lengthen your chain? There is another RUclipsr that that went to a 11-34 flywheel, kept the Journey derailleur, but had to lengthen his chain.
Very clear and logical comparison, and I can't wait for the drag races! A hill climb test would be awesome as well. The rack is the most significant structural upgrade, and they did it well. We'll have to see if the motor is worth it. Although there are some fairly significant changes, I don't think it would be worthwhile for owners to sell their 2.0 just to get the 3.0, but if you have neither it makes sense to get the 3.0. Thanks again for the video!
I'm taking my 3.0 out of the box this Saturday. Can you help me for selecting hydraulic disc brake caliper upgrades to the front and back?? Let me know your caliper of choice front and back???
Hi, nice review Chris, always informative and fun. Was wondering if you're going to do a handlebar reversal for the 3.0 ? I watched the 2.0 YT video, but my 3.0 is a different set up down at the base, and looks more challenging. Thanks for all your tips :)
I might be testing my long range battery out a bit differently than my original battery, but I keep running into issues with the long range battery where PAS 1 and 2 stop working and I have to reset power
Nice review. For an extra $100 I think I would rather carry a spare battery than get the extended range battery. It looks like they made a lot of good incremental changes.
HELP! I changed the flywheel and derailleur that you recommended and I cannot get the chain to go into 2 or first gear. I have turned the low and high limiters out, unscrewed the barrel adjuster, even unscrewed the B screw and it is not working. Any suggestions would be most helpful. I may have to return to my old flywheel and derailleur.
Sorry for the delayed response. If you are not able to shift into the 1st or 2nd gears, the 2 largest gears, and you have backed out the barrel adjuster for more tension and it is still not enough, screw the barrel adjuster back in all the way. Then shift into 7th gear, the smallest one, then loosen the cinch bolt that clamps the shift cable to the derailleur, a 5mm allen bolt, and physically pull more cable through. Then tighten the allen bolt back down and try readjusting. Another way to check if your cable is too slack is to shift into 7th gear and then try to shift into 6th gear, if the derailleur doesn't move or won't move enough to change the gear, then the cable has too much slack in it and needs to be tightened.
@@PedalWithPower Thank you, I will try these things tomorrow. Shifting between 6&7 th gear is not smooth at all and sometimes does not work. How about a video on indexing the gears.

any issues with the battery charger level being inaccurate? I tested one of these bikes and the fellow that owned the bikes said this is a common problem.
Inaccurate how? There's a voltage setting, the bike is at full battery when it reads 54.6V, HOWEVER the battery bar you see at the top, it could be seen as tho the bike is fully charged but, it's not really, the bar shouldn't be taken as truth. You should always check the voltage reading For example you see the bar is full, but When you check the voltage, it's only at 50.0V, so it's not really full at all.
It really just depends on how worn out it is. Rear tires wear quicker than front tires. You can compare the 2 and see how worn out your rear is. Rotating tires also helps. I will get a video up on that soon.
I have 2000 miles (in 8 months) on my XP 2.0 on the original tires. I rotated at around 1500 miles. Still have some tread but am looking around for replacements.
Have 2 Lectric 2.0. Great bike but hate key placement. Spoke to many others with Lectric bikes with same opinion. Key insert is frustrating! Please change design for key placement! Thx
It depends on how they got the extra torque. You can crank up the power to improve torque, and that does use more battery. However, it looks like Lectric is using a motor with higher torque windings, and these can often be more efficient at the same power level. The downside is a slight loss of top speed due to the motor's lower K/V rating, but it's usually worth it.
I believe it's the nearly the same. 64lbs without battery, 71lbs WITH the battery Doesn't matter anymore however since they no longer sell the 2.0, unless you plan to buy a used one from someone else
The 2.0 is Midnight Blue and the 3.0 is Black. That's why you see the color difference. Is the 3.0 still a threaded headset or did they improve to a threadless.
Please respond to my comment below from 4 days ago. Is there a better way to contact you to get quicker responses rather than using the comment section on YT? Please advise. I really need you to do a video on how to index gears on the Lectric E-bikes. Also, a video on how to replace the gear cable. Much of this could be handled in a phone call.
Chris, why aren't you responding to my query below about which of the two improvements you made to your Lectric 2.0 made the most impact? Just a simple response would be appreciated, thanks.
@@PedalWithPower Thanks! That is what I thought, but wanted to be sure. I will do both, but space them out. Since you had to go to the 34 tooth model, do you feel the upgrade of the derailed is mandatory?

I bought a 2.0 on 1 of their super free black Friday specials for 9 99 99, They advised me that it was better than black Friday. 5 days later they released the 3.0 for 9 99 99. The truth is not in these people.
They made an official announcement on twitter 2-3 days before the 3.0 was released. You missed it by days, the company isn't supposed to let you know about a new release before the official announcement. That's how all companies that sell products work. Also, before the 3.0 was announced, the 2.0 was selling for $899. What is this 9 99 99??
@@PedalWithPower And I appreciate that. I haven't seen any more recent videos and hoped you would continue. You do an excellent job, and I mean that seriously. I got the flywheel you recommended and the derailleur your recommended and freaked out when I could not get the derailleur to work. I will try your recommendations today, but so far, the gap to get from gear 3 to is huge and even greater to get to 1st gear. I was wondering if my chain is even long enough.
Lectric XP 2.0 $799 CONS - No Step Thru, No rack or fender (extra cost ), 300W, 7.8 Ah, 1 speed, 20 MPH, hard seat, 2.5 inch tires XP 3.0 $999 Pros - Step Thru, 150 lbs rack (passenger seat available), 500W, 10.4 Ah, 7 speed, 28 MPH, Comfort seat, 3.0 inch tires So XP 3.0 is much better value. Where was the bell mounted? I didn't see it on either bike in this video.
@@PedalWithPower Thank you! Ordering now!
@@RobbieBurchett Look at many of this other videos to see the bell
has the spring issue been fixed 1 year later?
Best line , if you ride without a Helmet it's really going to be a No Brainer.
How can I stop my front fender rattling while riding
Anyone else think the key location is stupidly ridiculous? And the bottle holder location? I have the xp 3.0.
Can the 3.0 tire with motor fit and work on the 2.0
I got the XPremium. Love this
Nice job!
Thanks!
After how many miles should I change the tire? Mine is coming up to 900.
Still going strong on my 2.0 and really wanna upgrade
To the 3.0
Would love one of the free bikes. I'm a disabled veteran with congestive heart failure. This would be good for me when I get out of breath.
Have 2 Lectric 2.0. Great bike but hate key placement. Spoke to many others with Lectric bikes with same opinion. Key insert is frustrating! Please change design for key placement! Thx
Will the higher torque use up the battery faster?
It depends on how they got the extra torque. You can crank up the power to improve torque, and that does use more battery. However, it looks like Lectric is using a motor with higher torque windings, and these can often be more efficient at the same power level. The downside is a slight loss of top speed due to the motor's lower K/V rating, but it's usually worth it.
Weight difference between the two stock models?
I believe it's the nearly the same.
64lbs without battery, 71lbs WITH the battery
Doesn't matter anymore however since they no longer sell the 2.0, unless you plan to buy a used one from someone else
The 2.0 is Midnight Blue and the 3.0 is Black. That's why you see the color difference. Is the 3.0 still a threaded headset or did they improve to a threadless.
Mine is 2.0 but it's not blue, I bought it in June and it's black.
Mine said black on the website when I ordered it. But it looks more like a midnight blue
Sorry for the delay. The biggest upgrade I did on the 2.0 was the freewheel. Second, would be the brakes
@@PedalWithPower Thanks! That is what I thought, but wanted to be sure. I will do both, but space them out. Since you had to go to the 34 tooth model, do you feel the upgrade of the derailed is mandatory?
The 2.0 is midnight blue, the 3.0 is black...
I've been looking at these alot lately lol
Thanks for the update!
is the long range waterproof?
Nothing is truly Waterproof, it's water resistant. It has some good resistance to water. I rode it in rain a few times and nothing has been destroyed or broken
Hey the 2.0 paint is a dark blue not a black the 3.0 is black.
No videos in a year… Are you ok?
Are you no longer doing YT? Are you not responding to comments any longer?!!
I just answered your last question, sorry for the delay. I'm still doing YT, it might just take me a little longer to respond.
Lectric XP 2.0 $799
CONS - No Step Thru, No rack or fender (extra cost ), 300W, 7.8 Ah, 1 speed, 20 MPH, hard seat, 2.5 inch tires
XP 3.0 $999
Pros - Step Thru, 150 lbs rack (passenger seat available), 500W, 10.4 Ah, 7 speed, 28 MPH, Comfort seat, 3.0 inch tires
So XP 3.0 is much better value. XP 2.0 is waste of money.
Why they are still using the problematic screen/display is concerning
I agree. The screen can be much improved
We rode plastic seats when I was a kid
POWER MATTERS !! Difference in load , high climb, The rest is not as important!!! SIZE MATTERS !!!
you need to do a lectric 3.0 from 2022 to a electric 3.0 now there is a a big difference in the throttle. I hate the new bike
That seat is not available anymore
🚲🚲 🔥👍😎
What happened to the channel?
I don't see any essential differences that you'll have to upgrade to 3.0 if you already own 2.0
Those differences are basically only cosmetics.
Классные очень велики 👍🏼👍🏼
На лето я себе тоже буду покупать велосипед🚴 я под✍ ся, а вы?.
Hydraulic brakes now.
3.0 is a scam...the bike is way slower throttle only than the 2.0 and feels like it's going to die when going up hill. This thing is trash. Shouldn't have sold my 2.0.
It’s not cycling
Another helmet nanny. Why can't these people just worry about themselves?
