Nikon d70 DSLR doesn't have any other viewfinder than the tiny one called optical. Does this solve the problem of not having the evf. I wear glasses and can't see or focus the item I want to shoot.
Yes, mirrorless cameras while very popular will begin to ruin people's eyes especially children who want to be photographers at a very young age. Anyone under 7 especially will have issues with their eyes using an EVF for long periods. In general use an EVF will add eye strain to your eyes just like looking at a computer monitor all day and EVF due to your eyeball being so close has the same fov of being say 3ft away from a 19in monitor except your eye is now less than an inch away from a bright screen. I have 20/15 vision and for me an EVF messes with my eyes. Even set to low brightness I got eye strain pretty fast.
I don’t know why they don’t make small evf that can be attached to flash hot shoes and connect to hdmi output similar to canera monitors

Is this still a good idea in 2019 for using it on DSLR cameras?
Yes, or sell it for a mirrorless camera.
