  • @mdc2utube
    @mdc2utube 4 дня назад +5

    Bobby & Gerry - Thanks for the candor. We need honest appraisal - and not just after losses. We need a hard, realistic and fair eval like this one to keep is not only realistic but grounded. You gave us some early warnings against OU - a victory but not a sharp one. Victories in non-excellence risk a mindset that you can win without your best effort and that is just not the case in college football today. In addition, there was just too much hype - recruiting mega event, best team ever ... and possibly too much distraction on this one. A more focused and humbled team came in and took over in our house when EVERYONE had Texas picked to win. This is a long time characteristic of Texas football - we do not win the games everyone think they should win. That is the cycle that has to break for any Texas team to be the best of all time.

    Quinn has lost his get out of jail free card. The oline got owned but Quinn missed many open throws and missed many open reads. Arch did not start to move the offense when he entered, my concern for Quinn is if Arch is already as good as you with less reps and probably a higher ceiling then he might need to start getting his lumps so we can get more out of Arch instead of grabbing those lumps next year.

Based on what I've seen, we don't have a receiver in the same stratosphere as Worthy or Mitchell. Brooks and Baxter are missed especially in the inside running game. I think Helm has done a tremendous job at TE but I'm concerned about matchup advantages against top tier safeties and LBs. I'm not saying these guys aren't good but last years team had top tier NFL talent. I don't necessarily see that this year. I hear about great track times and the grave digger catch but when push comes to shove I don't see that same level of production.

    Not good by any particular offensive position group. But defense was really good. I don’t remember for sure but I felt like GA started all but two drives on our side of the 50 in the first half. To only be at 23 at half time we were still in it. This is a loss from being out coached. Sark has got to chew up more clock when we have terrible field position. Defense gets a turnover and has to defend a short field less than a minute later. The games we lose always come down to that. I love the horns and I think Sark is good. But maybe run it a few times and huddle up when our backs are at the end zone and try to take two minutes at least then punt for field position. Priorities:

What happened yesterday was not okay, and especially in our own fucking stadium! A lot of the pressure was coming off the edges and it didn't help that Sark was calling some plays that didn't develop very quickly. His quick release I thought would be the strength of his in a case of having overzealous edge rushers but I guess not. We needed to run the ball between the guard and tackle and stop trying to go for deep shots or plays that take too long to develop. We need to have a script that beats overly aggressive defenses like Kirby's, and some reverses and counters could do that as well. Not enough running in the first half, too much throwing, and not enough quick slants in general, and that's a problem I saw last year in general. We had some great slant plays but never called them.

We all have seen GA not playing up to their potential. That performance looked like a team prepared to play against GA playing like that instead of being prepared for what they were capable of.
    We will see going forward if this was just a "GA too good for TX" thing or if this was a "TX fraud alert" thing. If they keep looking like what we saw yesterday against good but very beatable teams we will know TX to this point has been a mirage.

    Georgia was fighting for their lives and Texas didn't seem to have the energy. This game meant everything to Georgia, they lose and it's the downfall of them. Their front 7 didn't look like the team that was 13/15 in sacks in the conference. all this welcome to the SEC BS means nothing. We've already beaten Alabama and Georgia in the recent past which is more than any other SEC team can say in the last 20 years. Quinn looked terrible. He's not following through on throws, he seems to be lobbing the ball more vs firing it. Oline clearly played their worst game, at a bad time. Hopefully we can get another shot at them.. Defense played lights out. That qb Beck is terrible, worse then Quin. LOL TRASH. He'd be 3rd string at Texas.

    Quinn getting an F after a D- after all that rest is a really bad sign. Ya'll called out Quinn bad footwork , I think he also missed way too many reads and was 'hearing footsteps and bailed to his check-down instead of finding the open recievers, Oline is taking a hit on 7 sacks allowed but how many were assigned to Quinn (or Arch). There were few instances where a timely step up didn't save the play even if he just threw it away. He's shellshocked and his footwork and failure to make reads under duress makes him a barely above-average QB who can't hit the long route with any accuracy...he's done.

    Georgia didn’t get Texas’ best at all… Georgia just played with intensity and something to prove and we didn’t and wanted to rub our faces in it cause it’s our first year… and when that happens you’re not going to win… if we play again, intensity won’t be the issue I don’t think and we’ll play better. Most the sacks were on Quinn holding onto the ball too long, being indecisive and not seeing the field well and not stepping up… also that throw to wingo that was a PI was bad, he had his man beat and if the ball was put in front of him that’s most likely a TD…

    Ewers and the whole overrated O-line got exposed. Ewers is soft, slow, fragile, and can't deliver the ball on the run. Manning needs to step up and take over the rest of the season. Ewers is done, and so is his future in the NFL. How many of the top recruits that got invited would want to be part of that embarrassment shown the other night against Georgia? Georgia came prepared and executed their attack efficiently. Texas needs a dual-threat quarterback if the O-line is porous and soft like last night. Georgia exposed Texas, and the remaining games will not be a cakewalk since Georgia has shown how to defeat and dominate Texas. Let's see the resolve of this team.

Not sure how Sark fixes that but if texas is going to make the playoffs Sark is going to have to find a way to fix it.
