    Defense is very good. They played winning football for the most part. The offense has to look in the mirror and find out how bad they want to be a champion.

      Time and time again with the Texas longhorns no matter the coach we can never have both sides of the ball good at the same time it’s a fucking curse, last year our defense was our weak point now it looks like our o line isn’t SEC ready

    Defense definitely made me proud. Was put in a lot of short fields against a great team and held them to kicks. Give them a few years and I truly believe Simmons will be a game wreaked like walker was for Georgia.

    There were multiple problems in this game. First of all we were out coached. Secondly, we were beat like a drum on both lines, but especially our offensive line was out classed. Thirdly our quarterback play was weak under pressure. Finally, Florida was just plain faster than Texas, especially their defense. The Texas defense was better in the second half, but our offense was still struggling.
    Georgia was prepared to stop the Texas short passing game and the Texas running game. They had studied Texas’ plays and were prepared to stop them. Quinn does not have a deep passing threat, worse he is slow afoot and unable to avoid pressure from elite defenses. The pressure on the Texas’ QBs was unprecedented and Quinn cannot handle that kind of pressure. Arch had trouble with it also, but he went in cold and when the game was already out of control and he only got two series. Clearly Arch would have given Texas a better chance to defeat Georgia. Sadly, Georgia is just a better team. They are bigger, stronger, and faster, especially their defense. Georgia played their hearts out and Texas took a butt whipping. The question now is can Sark make adjustments that will allow this team to beat elite teams like Georgia or Ohio, or Oregon?

    • @jacetiller3156
      @jacetiller3156 4 дня назад

      Arch's reliance on the deep game gave Texas no real advantage. In theory Arch could provide mobility, which could shift around Georgia's defense. However the experience just isn't there. For example he took a horrendous sack trying to outrun an edge defender. Georgia's edge defenders are too athletic for that, he has to use that ability to throw the ball away instead of trying to make a play. That's excusable, he's young and hasn't seen it. What was inexcusable was Sark's play-calling. He's coached against these types of defenses. What are we doing running play actions in 3rd and 5+ with no real rushing attack? He tried throwing to establish the run which was totally predictable. Also too many long-developing pass concepts. The saddest aspect of this game is Quinn came out with good timing and seemed on until the sack fumble. His performance isn't excusable but he's not a dominant player like VY, Newton, Mayfield, Lawerence, Manziel etc he has to be set up and Sark totally failed him. I think the other aspect of this game that hasn't been talked about enough is special teams. In the first half Texas was pinned in its own territory while Georgia consistently had great field position. A lot of the was just great execution on Georgia's part but it's hard to get anything going pinned against an athletic defense.

    • @philmorris8862
      @philmorris8862 3 дня назад

      @@jacetiller3156 Arch does not rely on the deep game. He has that in addition to the short and intermediate game. I think Texas would have done better had Arch played the entire game. I agree with you about Sark's play calling.

    I have no question the defense will be ready to be even more physical and tackle more aggressively next time we face them, but we matched wits and playmaking with them on that side of the ball. The swagger was there. Just the complete opposite on offense.
    I think we got some pressure on them but Beck gets rid of the ball quick. Sorell and Alfred Collins made Beck uncomfortable.

    The D gives away a lot of third down conversions & oftentimes opposing receivers are wide open because Kwiatkowski plays the corners so far off the receivers. It's so aggravating!
    When is Trey Moore going to show why he was a highly desired transfer? Looks like he may have had big stats because he played weak competition.
    The bend but don't break D isn't championship defense.

    I guess im in the minority but the int's dont sway me on the whole game by the db's. The defense as a whole put together a decent game albeit it hinged on the UGA offense being bad too. The DB's were decent imo but i think if you get past the int number the whole game would be graded more in line with a C- or D due to the number of open WR's. Overall the defense was a C to me and mostly because of the UGA offense deficiencies not the actual play. It a crazy game to grade tbf.

    • @jacetiller3156
      @jacetiller3156 4 дня назад

      C-? I'd hate to see what you'd give the offense lol. I understand what you're saying but I think just the fact they were the only unit that gave us an opportunity to win deserves a lot more credit than you're giving. Drops or not we held Georgia to under 300 yards of total offense. That should be enough to keep things competitive

    • @Inboden69
      @Inboden69 4 дня назад

      @@jacetiller3156 thats kinda my point, did they give us a chance or was it UGA's offense not being good? I mean the drops, missed passes made of defense look really good. Its not like the bad passes or drops were caused by pressures or drops. We had a few big plays like Taffe's breakup but that is rare compared to their drops while being wide open or missed passes. idk maybe its just a different perspective on the difference between what we did and what they didnt do.

    • @jacetiller3156
      @jacetiller3156 3 дня назад +1

      @@Inboden69 I respect it although I think it's tough. I just think you can always make the comparison between execution and performance between the two teams. For example was Texas' O-Line and Quarterback play that bad or was Georgia's front seven actually that great. Without knowing the schemes and having access to different angles of the film you probably won't know. My guess would be it's a mixture of both. The complicated aspect for Texas was the pass rush wasn't effective. However I think Texas was playing to keep the offense in front and to secure the run which I think they did a good job at considering their opponent. Going into the game we knew the Georgia receivers were excellent at getting vertical but didn't have great hands. I'd assume that effects the way you play them. In my opinion the defense kept from getting exposed and showed they're capable of competing at the highest level. It wasn't perfect but I think it was definitely an above average performance.

    • @jperez07302002
      @jperez07302002 3 дня назад

      I think that was due to play calling, they played awfully soft in the first half. They were giving the receivers so much room.

  • @DTraiN5795
    @DTraiN5795 4 дня назад

    Okay so flip side of them dropping for Georgia how can you grade that when our offense sucked and also dropped passes. We had as many drops just not the ones that Georgia would’ve had for more yardage. Our defense was the only reason it was close as it was. So a B grade is crap imo
    The first half is what killed us 23-0 is unacceptable. You change the score and I bet the defense does way better. Sark wasn’t on point Oline wasn’t on point and Quinn wasn’t on point. This game was completely on the offense period all around. Total F for staff and players. I love these guys and our players but it’s pretty simple. Against good offense there will almost never be those defenses that hold teams to nothing especially if they don’t get any offensive help. That’s the era of football we’re in
    Gerry you’re completely not going to direction of thinking the defense plays better if the offense plays better. I hope we crush your 10-2 and go 11-1 lol bc I think this is crap about the defense. Offense deserve all the blame

    Y'all quit dogging the o line so much.. visor fatty Smart was doing some magical disguising aimed at confusing the o line, and it worked. It's on Sark who should have known what to expect from Smart. He should've prepped the offense on what was going to happen.
    The silver lining is that when Sark lays an egg, he learns from it. Now, can Quinntavious Ewers become the total package QB he was supposed to be, that is the question.

    They absolutely did not get pressure on the defensive front. Particularly from the edges. The only sack was from a linebacker, Hill. Trey Moore was purely a spectator.
    And to the statement "wasn't a playmaking game" for Moore. WHEN DOES HE EVER HAVE A PLAYMAKING GAME? He has played over 250 snaps, more than any other DE, more than double Burke and Simmons. On the entire season, 7 games, he doesn't have a single sack. He has 11 tackles. 0.5 tackles for loss. No turnovers forced. This game he did not have a single tackle of any kind. This game was not a playmaking game because he NEVER MAKES PLAYS. Which begs the question why he is so consistently on the field. People have tried for a long time to make excuses for him. He's unlucky. Is he? He's been unlucky 250 times in a row? That's not luck, he's not a good player. He stands out in the edge room as the weakness.
