So proud of your parenting skills and teaching your kids that everything is not just given. My Mama raised us the same way. Every summer we had to work picking tomatoes and other labor work. At the time, I didn't like it at all. Taught us to work hard and appreciate what we got. It instills a work ethic in you, that you will appreciate for the rest of your life. We recently moved to Helena, MT and our temps were as low as -32 yesterday and we have 5 little Nigerian dwarf goats and it's absolutely amazing to see how God made them to withstand such harsh temps!! I know I hated chores when I was little, but we had to do them, or else. We didn't have a lot of money. After my dad died , my mom took care of me and my sister alone. The main thing is that, we knew that we were loved, and we did, later on feel good about what we did. A lot of children don't get to have that warm fuzzy feeling of Love.That makes me sad. We don't get to understand our destiny in life. We just have to know that God has his great plan for us...no matter what. Your great parents. Your children are so lucky. ~~~My Heart is with You~~~

They are homesteaders that are also faith based. They had cultivated mushrooms to help their soil that got contaminated. It is very refreshing to watch channels like y'alls. Here in Indiana the temperature is negativeone, but I feel like temperature is -22. and we have 5 inches of snow where I live. Merry Christmas! I dont think I have ever commented. But I try to watch as much as I can. I have a 16 month old and a 3 year old (4 in may). And I can relate to alot of what goes on with the channel. The 3 year old wants to help me feed the dogs every single day. And some days I try to quickly do it because it is "quicker". Thank you for letting me realize it is about the life lesson. I also have heaters in small areas. I purchased some "thermopro" temp gages online. The gages also read out humidity. You might think of putting something like that in those areas to know what your temp drops down to, and what your temp gets up to. I hope all is well! Merry Chirstmas!

Northern Idaho has had snow on the ground since first of November, the leaves fell late and are buried under all the snow. We have been really cold since Wednesday with -30 with wind chill temps. Woke up this morning to 5 degrees and more snow. Suppose to snow all day and night and warm up to 33 tomorrow but snowing all day and night. Next 10 days warming up but will still get rain and snow. Our side streets are still covered in snow. It has not warmed up enough to melt any of it off since November. I hope the cold doesn't last long there. We know how you feel, been bad here too. We are use to this, but have not had this kind of weather in a long time.
Our winter storm started at 4 PM today, Thursday Dec. 22. I live in Northern Lower Michigan. So we are supposed to get 2 FEET of snow by Christmas eve! MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all and your Families! Also Merry Christmas to all the Smith fans and Yee Yee Nation!

Here in Indiana the temperature is negativeone, but I feel like temperature is -22. and we have 5 inches of snow where I live. I dont think I have ever commented. But I try to watch as much as I can. I have a 16 month old and a 3 year old (4 in may). And I can relate to alot of what goes on with the channel. The 3 year old wants to help me feed the dogs every single day. And some days I try to quickly do it because it is "quicker". Thank you for letting me realize it is about the life lesson.
I also have heaters in small areas. I purchased some "thermopro" temp gages online. The gages also read out humidity. You might think of putting something like that in those areas to know what your temp drops down to, and what your temp gets up to.

Sounds like our boys they hate having to work and do chores. Good for kids to help there parents. Our kids have chores and they work to get money for things to.

Northern Idaho has had snow on the ground since first of November, the leaves fell late and are buried under all the snow. We have been really cold since Wednesday with -30 with wind chill temps. Woke up this morning to 5 degrees and more snow. Suppose to snow all day and night and warm up to 33 tomorrow but snowing all day and night. Next 10 days warming up but will still get rain and snow. Our side streets are still covered in snow. It has not warmed up enough to melt any of it off since November. I hope the cold doesn't last long there. We know how you feel, been bad here too. We are use to this, but have not had this kind of weather in a long time.
