Given the challenge of demonstrating the intended scope of these pickups, along with the bar that Devin sets, this couldn't have been done better. Great demo.
Keep thinking I've seen this guy before, is this the same guy who played guitar with Above The Earth at Tech-fest a few years back? The year they did a cover of Die Antwoord's 'Fatty Boom Boom'.
hoping to throw these in my Dell'Isola Island Custom to see how they compare to the BKP Nailbomb I have in there!!! Looking for extreme versatility and these really seem to shine at everything!!!!
ChristsDanimal777 If you want versatility you might want to check out the Tony Abase pickups by Fishman. These seem to be desinged to deliver that massive metal tone and usable strat tones in the same package for live sitsuations. Devin has so many guitars there's no way he'd only use this to record everything... (:-|
Which one should I go if I'm really versatile in playing. I want to fit all my classic strat sounds but my humbucking Suhr classic sounds tones in my black limba guitar with maple fretboard and s-style tremolo. Should I buy the Devin, Tosin or Killswitch PUs? I would prefer a classic humbucking sound for 70% of my music and 30% of strat clean tone. Modern Humbucking is not necessary for me, just an additional gimmick. Hope you guys from @Fishman Music can help me here!
Well, the Devin, Tosin, and KSE sets are all pretty modern. I'm pretty sure you can split the Fluence Classics into an actual single-coil, they just don't have a preamp voicing specifically for that like the Devin, Tosin, and KSE sets. Maybe send a message to Fishman support to see if they can set you up with something?
Amazingly quiet, grabbed one of my older guitars hooked it up to the same setup, I was running my schecter with Fishman's on and was astonished at how much noise the Fishmans were silencing.
A technical question: In the "split" mode, are the pickups still "active", or is that "single-coil" setting really technically passive? I mean: when you pull the pot up - do they change from active to passive?
but will the coil split work in active mode too? I have 2 knobs on my guitar so i have to do everything with 2 push pull knobs. So it actually have 4 sounds in one pickup right?
Yes, it comes 2 25k vol pots, 2 25k push/pull tone pots (all 4 pots are short shaft), 2 capacitors, and some wiring. Youll need to provide some basic wiring for all the ground, and all the joints need soldered
what an awesome guitar player
Fishman PLEASE make a seven string version of the Devin sigs
Nick K that would be epic

Those clean tones are absolutely stellar, regardless of them being split or full on humbuckers. The distorted tones aren't bad either :)
I love the fact there is no windings I always knew that would happen one day.
My next guitar will be a parts caster with these pickups. They literally do EVERYTHING.

S-PRO Gaming his name is Sam bell done a few things on RUclips
Great tones, great playing and that Allan Holdsworth size left hand....!
Loving Fishman's new electric guitar pickups... will have to try some out some day!
Amazing demo, this how demos should look like.
Holy shit...you look TOTALLY different from your older vids Sam!

Are these PU's as quiet as I've read in other reviews? Not affected by EMI or RFI? Thx...

The pickups are active in all modes even though some "voices" are dialed in to sound like passive pickups.
In Dev's own guitars he has a separate switch that switches between active humbucker, passive humbucker and passive coil split

Does all the electronic s and pots and stuff come with it?

Hi Sam!
Can I install these pickups in one volume guitar?
you can if you want both voicings you would need an extra push pul vol pot from fishman..... and you would have the neck pup left over.
'They're called the... uh... line??'
I worry about sweat and debris getting in the USB port...
