  • Hey all, just picked up a set of the Camel ADV Products side fairings for my 2023 Yamaha Tenere 700 (T7 Seeker). They're polypropolene fairings and they are STOUT! This is kind of my informal announcement to me testing running without crash bars and just these fairings as well.
    Here's a link to the fairings, and yes, it's $150 for the PAIR:

    So stay tuned!

    Finally someone shows it. Take care of the radiator, you may still want the bar. :)

      I’ll take my chances, bars are ugggg lol. Radiators for these bikes are fairly cheap anyways. $120 on eBay currently for one.

    Those look like a good idea. I have lower crash bars from Alt Rider to protect the radiator and cases. I weighed them, but can't remember exactly how heavy they were, but I know those plus AXP skid plate and Barkbusters added 8lbs all together.

    I don’t run crash bars either. They are heavy and they negatively impact the handling. I ordered some of these two days ago. I got the matte black ones. Are yours the glossy or matte?

    What footpegs did you go with? Also, I'd love a video on that exhaust. That looks like the one on amazon? I purchased the same bike about a week ago.

      Yeah it’s the cheap Amazon one, I’ll do a review after I have about 100 more miles on it. So far I like it!
      Footpegs are fastway evo 3’s. They came off my WR250R.

    Hello! Ist the shape of the ADV fairings similar to the original because I have to fit decals (rally blue)? What do you think? Thx!

    • @OgreMoto
      @OgreMoto  9 месяцев назад +1

      They’re identical. Any stickers for the OE fairings should work fine on these.

    Be mindful that the radiator is right behind that fairing. That’s why I have crash bars.

    • @OgreMoto
      @OgreMoto  9 месяцев назад

      I’ll take my chances, I just hate the way crash bars look and radiators are pretty cheap for these things. Yeah it’s suck to get stranded, but I’ve been stranded on dirtbikes before too.

      @dandoesstunts220 9 месяцев назад

      @@OgreMoto yeah fair enough. Just noticed you say there’s not much behind them. For me a radiator is a pretty crucial component, “stranded” for me could mean a pretty major evacuation.

      @@dandoesstunts220 90% of adv bike owners don't ride as remotely as they like to pretend they do on the Internet. Grocery store, work, occasional weekend gravel ride. Crash bars won't do anything most of the time except for be heavy weight up high. Even weekend camping adventures are usually on pretty tame two-track where if you drop it, nothing's even going to touch the fairings. I'm all for people being realistic about their needs and building their bike to suit them.
      If a single crash is that likely to doom you, you should reevaluate your riding style. Crash bars aren't the solution because something else can always break. Either don't ride alone, ride more within your skill level, or use a personal locator beacon. Or all three.

    • @dandoesstunts220
      @dandoesstunts220 9 месяцев назад

      @@TKettle where’d you find those statistics?
      No they don’t do much on tame twin track, it’s the uneven ground where it’s not a flat surface for the bars to connect first that makes you come unstuck. I’m all for people being realistic about their needs too, like old mate not wanting to run crash bars which is reasonable. I only commented because he said there’s nothing but bike structure or something behind there, which isn’t true.

      @@TKettle You got a point, but I took my Tenere to some off-road trails and I am an amature offroad driver. I got few drops due to leg reach and the crash bars kept the bike pretty safe. When the bike gets older and I become better then probably I will remove them as well.
