I loved the honesty and open conversation between the children and father. I think mostly as a parent, you would want to pass your kids the good value in life experiences which are most important
Just want to say that social workers do have starting pays on par with other jobs. I am a social worker with bachelors degree and my starting pay ($3xxx) was higher than many degree holders in media industry. If you work as a medical social worker, your pay will definitely be quite high. It’s a misconception that social workers are lowly paid.
@@xysg1 I think that 3xxx just starting but as more years passed it might changed depending on the individual due to experience. There might also be bonuses and change in position at the company.
I think it boils down to the amount of work social workers do and whether they are remunerated accordingly. You are right, msw pays higher cause their fundings are different to those from family service centres
I enjoyed this video! Thanks for fostering the dad-child relationship also. So sweet to see. Would like to encourage Wendy by saying I enjoy your videos a lot! you speak clearly and delve deeper into questions each video.
As asian that live in western world, I can distinctly see the difference between east and western parenting... In the west, parent aren't committed to their kids but are connected to them, while in the east parent are committed to their kids but at the same time very distant..
Dear OGS, I really enjoy most, if not all the videos you guys produced. Be it about the hidden hustles, random street interviews etc. I appreciate that you guys delve deeper into issues that are less commonly talked about by the traditional media. Aspiration, diversity and inclusivity ❤️
Zulayqha and dad moments made me teared abit, when pakcik said about raising his children after divorce, had no money, worst had no home to go back to... I just can't think how their family went thru that...
Thank you for making this video! How I wish I had this conversation w my dad but I believe he would be proud of me no matter what I decided to do, like he always do..
This is heartwarming and moving, especially seeing the interaction between two generations who have different ideals and aspirations. Thank you for giving these sensitive topics a public channel and being a boundary pusher in a conservative society.
Kudos Great Video. As a Gen X person, sometimes in SG context, many don't really have much choice of what u like to do or what's the latest pay cheque. Many of my generation people decided to "Like" their job instead of "Loving" it. When ages reached 40 & above one tends to hold on to their job till offered retrenchment package (Working Class PMET). Its a changing world & some jobs which offered 20 years ago may be irrelevant 20 years on.
See Singapore keeps allowing new citizens from certain countries thinking they integrate better. This girl and her family is proof otherwise, it’s about attitude not where you are from. I can tell you most people from ccp China don’t have the right attitude
I am sorry that you find it difficult to understand our accent, but we don't really use them for foreigners. we don't see the need to impress anyone so we don't conform to anyone for their sake.
The real tragedy is why the jobs that are just as important for the welfare of the community are remunerated so miserably.
Depends on your skills and qualifications. There are higher paid social workers.

Ahh yes it was really interesting for us to hear the different perspectives on set! :)
Zulayqha is cute and pretty, I respect her job, everything is not about money.
Until one of your family members fall sick and the medical bills start racking up
@@aname3978 ever heard of insurance lol
@@firdaus125 even with it it is still good to have a safety blanket of cash. Not everything might get covered by the insurance
Wendy is really articulate ❤
I was in the same sec school as Zylayqha! She's been the same kind spirited girl she was back then to now!:)
Im crying a lot laa, what a heartwarming video❤️

How about diploma holders? I’m curious too as I’m currently studying social science😬
But then again $3000 is just bare minimum these days

Earn less but be happier or earn more and be miserable? We have this choice. Opinions vary.

I'll never get use with Singaporean accent... they will be in my low tier list in english languange...
And you have to make this comment with such poor grammar. What a clown. 🤡
