- A hybrid wetland technology comprising a septic tank, a horizontal flow wetland, a slag phosphorus filter and a vertical flow wetland has been shown to perform well in a cold climate with consistently high effluent quality.
In Brazil banana plants are used in large scale as a plant and the results are great
Hi guys, thanks for the video, informative yet not mind boggling - where would I be able to find out some more information about this? We're considering building a wetland system but it seems so far difficult to find some ground knowledge! Thanks!
Great video!!!!
Can a system like this be done without pumps or the need for electricity?
CrossWood Hi There. I am not an expert but have delved into it a little and in my opinion it is totally possible as long as you have enough of a gradient to allow gravity to do the job. Wastewater (black or grey water) should be able to flow by gravity into a settling tank through vertical and horizontal flow tanks etc. It just requires careful design and consideration of the steps in the process. Basically, you want to remove solids, aerate or oxygenate the water and buffer it to control the acidity by raising the pH or neutralizing any acidity. Its doable. Good luck.
