These tips seem more for environment art/design. White boxing, rapid prototyping, and user feedback would be my top 3. Please number and label the tips in video and description with timestamps. *edit Example: 1. PolyBrush 2:10 2. Terrain Toolbox 2:50 3. LWRP 3:45 4. GI 4:45 5. Multiple Light Sources 5:18
When I'm being at 8:35, I said "What the f*ck!? Where does the music sound come from?" and when understood, I laughed a lot. Because its a melancholy drinking music about love from Turkey. LOL
It seems like you post the same video every week. Same thumbnail, the same time lapses on a loop with similiar "level design" tips. We know you work at Unity now and have job responsibilities, but recycling videos isn't helping anyone.
I use the tips and stuff you teach us to make levels and they turn out really nice but the thing is I don't know how to optimize stuff in unity, once ended up with 2 million triangles and that got me like 20fps. I would really like a tutorial or a series on how to optimize stuff in unity. As I figured optimization is a whole thing in itself.
Thanks for the video. Terrain Toolbox doesn't show up after importing (Apple Mac 10.14) in version 2019.2.10, only the brushes. Any idea why it doesn't? Thanks
I do wonder. how did you design that house?. it looks quite real. is there some kind of a keyword to search in order to learn how to design "real" stuff in unity?
I couldn't get polybrush to work on my terrains for scattering mesh. If anyone else is having this issue in hdrp, an alternative method of object scattering is to use the tree system and setting my prefabs as 'trees'. Hope that helps anyone having the same issue.
I didnt watch the full video yet so im not sure if its addressed in it, but im trying to learn, or understand where i should create things like houses or rocks. Do i model these things in unity, or is it better to build something in a prog like blender and import it? And how do you know when to do either?
Thanks for a new vid, Sam. A slower pace would be appreciated though, the super fast images made my head ache. Actual visual examples a bit more still and focused would be very nice : )
Does Unity 2019.2 Get a normal, easy, and working ANDROID build ? Sorry that i don't really say something that is in the subject of the video... But you know more than me about 2019.2
Don't study game dev. Study something more General like "media informatics" (Medieninformatik) or "applied Informatics". With this, you can still work as a game dev, but you are not limited to it for the rest of your life.
not for all the people for my is easier to mack level louck good from unity code and animetion maybe because i make it 3D model and texture for my self also I decided to make not realistic style for this reason

Yeah these tips are really amazing and important !
Yes please continue with these tip and tricks as well as the more tutorial like videos.
I would say make a detailed terrain tutorial that features water & shading
Honestly, this series just feels like protracted Unity commercials.

I know your intentions are well, but this isn't Level Design. This is more like set dressing.
Thank you...I thought I was the one confused...

@@sissokoc_ops4024 Yup, just commented that. Same thumbnails and time lapses.
@@robbyz512 I think you're underestimating the effort it takes to do this kind of stuff

Polaris is pretty much exactly what I was looking for.
Please stop calling this level design. It's more of scene design than level design. It only looks good from one angle
