Super helpful video, thank you for taking the time to make this. Some of these nuances to Merlin have been tough for me to figure out on my own. I got a lot out of hearing your thought process!

I think the commentary was fine and the run down on the cards was good. You have room to improve but I look forward to another one.
I stand by my Norm Rai deck but that Wind Rai deck looks good.
Kinda weird that all of the decks I've fought against in my locals are just Fire and Water based. I saw some people use Wind but never had a chance to duel one.

Thanks for the feedback! Will definitely keep working on getting better at this style of video
Interesting that you’ve run into more water than wind, in our experiences water has been the least popular. Love hearing the differences in what people are running in different areas!

      Hello, thanks!
Not sure which list you're interested in, but we're working on an updated Serene Luxem video, and Picklesword did a deck profile of his Wind Rai list over on Raravin's channel (video linked in our Chess Club's Decklists playlist)

@GAChessClub love to see the zander build that got top 4 over the weekend.

@@walkingtall1821the deck will be up on Luxera's Map soon, and we're working on a video covering our recent Luxem lists. They're all extremely similar, with just a couple changes between Nats, Houston Regionals, and Michigan regionals

3:51 if he doesn't play anything t1, doesn't that clearly indicate it's not aggro? i.e. not a deck you want to be playing out the taunt guy against
6:00 sure, but you get a free 1/3 to pressure if you dg, and an extra materialize step. Also, doesn't seem like pendragon is dying much in this MU, so crux is most likely just going to cycle, unless you draw another crux or ascension
11:25 clearly he has arcane elemental if he's killing the taunt

15:36 isn't ascension just better than fireball here? min 6 dmg for 2 inf, a better rate than you'll get than fireball for a while. and if he has wind in his memory disruption also.

3:41 yes, it should be a pretty clear signal. I was just focusing a bit much on playing like I didn't know what I was up against and trying to remove that bias, and so ended up making a bad play by trying to avoid that read. Passing with fast cure is definitely the better t1 play (or even just incendiary fractal putting down 3 float and resolute)
6:00 in retrospect yea DG'ing up (keeping Pendragon and fireball in hand) and then grabbing safeguard would've been the right line. the extra dmg from DG shouldn't matter, it's just that extra materialization like you said.
11:25 you're right, this was my inexperience with this variant of wind arcane coming through. I'm more used to builds running erratic bolt instead of elemental
15:36 potentially. My issue with keeping ascension instead of fireball is that you don't have a guaranteed fire spell for it, and there are only 20 fire spells in the deck. Vs fireball which is 5 dmg next turn (if i played it), but matches ascension the turn after and scales with crystal. You rarely run into cost issues when playing the deck, more often its just being a few points of dmg shy, which is why I tend to value fireball higher. However, I don't think that putting down fireball instead of ascension is bad, and it does have the potential to payoff higher. Holding fireball is just the safer line imo

@@GAChessClub 15:36 I feel like the hand disruption is the big difference though. You wouldn't be playing fireball the next turn anyway, so it's a fair comparison to assume you could wait for a fire card to put down. Also it's a great card to loop with crux sight, where nothing else will really be recurrable. And it lets you get value out of the merlin +2
