Randomly stumbled across your channel. Welcome to Bulgaria, I hope you enjoy your stay here! 😊 Good luck on the house renovation, I am interested to see how it goes for you, all the best!
LOL, this is the first time on your channel and you made me laugh nervously that you purchased a house and didn't see all of the house. I had the nervous laugh because I was hoping that there weren't any bodies in the locked rooms you didn't see before the purchase! Subscribed, I have to see your renovations!
Wow, what an interesting adventure you are on. I like the budget friendly approach and it looks like you are going to grow an edible garden. After retiring, I am thinking of purchasing a small country house in Piedmont, Italy. There, I want to have an edible garden. I am think about the Piedmont area is because it's relatively near to the Alps and the culture of western Europe.
Ah that sounds absolutely beautiful. Italy is such a wonderful country. Maybe consider it before retiring if that’s what you want to do? You can still travel despite having an edible garden going. Irrigation systems can be set on timers or a kind neighbour can pop round. I love Bulgaria because it makes living without pressure a possibility. The bills are minuscule so you really get to choose how much you spend on non essentials.
@@MayainBulgaria You are right about having good neighbors who can keep an eye on the property when one is gone. I've read that there is risk of burglary of unattended properties in Italy. Currently, there would be large amounts of time that I would not be in Italy. I am more than 5 years away from retiring and I have a home in the US and I still want to travel to areas outside of western Europe. Last month, I visited Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary. I plan to visit Romania and Bulgaria next year.
If you have the deck on the same level of your floor you will eventually have a water and or flooding problem. Decking must be lower than your internal home floor.
Hey Maya we have been loving your channel. What village did you end up in? We are mapping areas to explore and really like the area you are in. What are the larger towns near you?
I saw nearly all your videos . It would be interesting to know roughly the costs of your renovations : ie Roof, windows, doors etc and Great if you could make a video presenting how you ended to buy a house in Bulgaria ...

You've made amazing progress in the past 10 months. Have you thought about turning that barn into an AirBnB?
Maybe but my first thought was a big diy space...
Nice video what was the price of the house and was the process easy?

Thanks I’ll be sure to look into that before making one!

I’m nearby Lyubimets and Svilengrad, next to Greece and Turkey 🤗
Hi, I am thinking to buy a house in BG but I really wonder how much is the tax ? Is it expensive yearly?
How many square meters do you have over there Maya if you don't mind me asking
It’s 2000m2 all together

Great idea! I’ll work on the video. In the meantime the total cost for house and renovation was €11k or 22000leva
