Great tips, thank you! It took me a while to figure out the parry indicator above all the visual noise of combat. Also good to know that we can return to areas to explore once they are properly unlocked: I had felt slightly rushed through these areas
I like that you can kill high level bosses if you can handle the pressure, I killed Desmal at lvl 13 with my Rogue and just killed the boss that it leads to who is lvl 32, I’m lvl 14 now 🤪
This game has me so vexed. I enjoy a good arpg and, after putting a fair few hours in to the game, it really is a very good example. But the kicker is that it feels absolutely nothing like Dragon Age. The rpg mechanics are very lightweight compared to previous iterations. But, I can not stress this enough, the writing is truly atrocious. The character interaction are like a high school drama. These are battle-worn characters to which we have direct points of reference in previous games and it truly is immersion breaking. Overall, a decent arpg but very much feels like Dragon Age Disney edition.
Do NOT listen to the trolls and sheeple claiming the game sucks! I'm a huge DA fan and am really enjoying the game. Don't listen to the haters hating just to hate. Form your OWN opinion by actually PLAYING the game.
Also a Dragon Age fan, and I barely lasted 3 hours before the lack of ability to roleplay, lack of challenge and nuance in the combat system (Mage, Nightmare) and absolutely abysmal script and voice acting made me want to stop. I doubt I will boot it up again. Glad I didn't pay for the pleasure.
Glad to see after getting hands on that almost all the protest came from people who clearly hadn’t actually touched it themselves. The game obviously has its flaws but now almost every hate comment I see just sounds even funnier cause they’re so blatantly lying about actually having it still
They were mostly just parroting the same comments from each other in a massive circle... cough. I've been playing since launch, and am having the same experience you are. I love how a bunch of people were clamoring over each other to yell about how terrible a game THEY HADN’T EVEN PLAYED was. Personally I like forming my own opinions rather than letting some man on the internet tell me how I feel, but that's just me.
@ literally, it’s one thing to not like a game you’ve tried it’s another to spam abusive comments over a game that’s not even out for you to have tried and pretending otherwise
Yeah combat seems decent so far. If you play action games like Devil May Cry it seems a bit easy in comparison but seems like what Dragon Age 2 was aiming at but actually kind of good. I already want to play a parallel playthrough with a different class (currently playing rogue). The second highest difficulty seems easy so far but maybe that’s just the game being easy in the first few zones.
I was thinking the same tbh; the trailers looked a bit cartoony but this looks fine. Not quite as gritty as Inquisition, but like. This isn’t meant to be Inquisition🤷♀️
@CeltiesSin I'm a big fan of dragon age constantly replying the other games and the trailer looked/felt goofy and wasn't giving me dragon age vibes at all
You could have expected some tactical advice for a Dragon Age game but here the advice is to parry and dodge... This is so disapointing. All this wait for nothing.
@@paStLife463The fighting is so repetitive... people turned down the difficulty after realizing it only bumped up health pools. Being melee is an absolute chore. And the writing? Good lord... I wanna see you defend the writing...
Are there any other things in Dragon Age: The Veilguard you wish you had known before spending dozens of hours in the game? Zoe
To add a tip about ladders: some can be shot at and they will release to the ground.. I believe this is the only way in and out of some treasure areas
What?? I had no idea
You have no idea how relieved I was when I got to your “Don’t stress about collectibles” tip. Because guess what, I’ve been stressing 😂
Thank you for this! The minimap lock is a life saver. It was getting me all turned around, haha.

Thank you, there were a few in there I hadn't yet noticed myself. I really like how the difficulty is handled with all the different settings.
the best tips is don't listen to the haters, the game is ton of fun
@@purefoldnz3070 each Dragon Age game is different from the previous one, so there isn’t a ‘Dragon Age way.’
@@purefoldnz3070 What do you think made Inquisition dark fantasy, that's missing from Veilguard?

Exactly. It’s a 7/10 for me. It’s not perfect but it’ll still having fun
Thanks, saving this video!
Once again Zoe comes through for us. Thank you so much! I appreciate this.

Clicking like just to help counter the "dislike" hate train going onto every DA:V video at the moment (at least, every one that isn't hating the game)
Thanks Zoe!
When the trailer for this game came out I thought this looks awful but seeing the actual game play has changed my mind somewhat

The game is amazing. It s DO but mechanically is more like God of War and Darksiders. Which I like. 😊
Comparing this with GOW and Darksiders is an insult to gaming in general
Feels more like Kingdoms of Amalur to me. Which is by no means a bad thing.
