  • r/Entitledparents In today's episode, OP uses a wheelchair and needs to take the bus. There's only 1 spot on the entire boss where can lock his wheelchair in, and of course a Karen is sitting there. He politely asks to use that spot, but the Karen freaks out and says that she and her precious baby need the seat. Eventually, the bus driver even has to get involved and starts screaming at the Karen to move, but she just won't listen!

Once a bus I was waiting for already had two wheelchairs strapped in and at a hub there was a third person wanting to get on. The bus driver tried to explain he couldn;t take the third wheelchair passenger since he already had two. The man in the third wheelchair threw a fit and drove his electric wheelchair into the bus wheel to try to force the driver to take him and kick out another passenger. This did not go over well and I think he got banned from the hub for doing that.

I didn't know where to post this, and I don't have Reddit but here's my entitled person story:
I had this one sub that everyone loved in 4th grade. Even i loved her, she was really nice, and everyone looked forward to see her as our sub. Since I was in 2nd grade I have been able to fold my ears, my cartlidge has never hardened and is incredibly flexible. It was in the morning and I walk in with one ear folded, and twisting the other. She stopped me in the doorway "you can't do that to your ears, it's 'dangerous'. You can crack your cartlidge." Mind you, my mom has been folding her ears since she was 3 she's 33 at this time, and her ears are just fine. "Miss, it's actually-" she cut me off for being "disrespectful" i was sent to my seat, and told to be quiet. Recess time, yes! My class goes outside to play, and it was so hot since we live in the south. I come back inside in line, super out of breath, and both ears folded (I had forgotten). The sub walks up to me, looks at both my ears, and I am not kidding. SHE. FLICKS. THEM. OPEN. Now if you have never had your ears flicked open, or flicked at all you don't know the absolute pain I was in. My ear was bruised for a day, and she never got in trouble. She sent me to my desk where I cried from the pain. So, folding my ears will crack the cartlidge, but flicking them won't? What is this logic?
Also, it would be amazing if you could read this, but you don't have to, still love your content!

Here is something for the OP of the first story to consider: When you're late to the doctors, most offices will try to keep their original scheduled order of patients. That means that if you're late earlier in the day the rest of the people who were scheduled after you get to wait long past their appointment time and by late afternoon that could mean someone will sit over an hour waiting to see the doctor. That happened to me after I had driven 45 miles to the doctor's office and then had to wait almost 2 hours(!) past my appointment time because multiple people before me were late. My point is simply that you shouldn't feel bad about demanding the same rights everyone else has and while you may not mind waiting for the next bus, the next guy in line may mind.

About the weeding story: My parents sometimes would go to weddings of friends or from companies and would never take me or my older sister. When I was around 12 or something I questioned why, because I wanted to go to a wedding thanks to movies. My mom answer: Weedings are pretty boring, if you can't sit still and wait (which being me, I couldn't), so I am not taking you or your sister. Besides, it's the couple's moment.
At the time I didn't understand, but accepted (it's not like I could force my mom to take me, anyway), but now I super understand. I am not saying that weddings can't have children, but you need to be patient. I can't stand children at on the cinema sometimes because the parents don't teach manner to their children (and I know it's a kid's movie, but this isn't about children being excited or talking. Is about childrens running around, screaming and you are trying to watch the movie, but can't because there is a child screaming at your ear and when you try to tell her to "not be so loud" the parent comes with "DON'T TELL ME HOW TO PARENT, YOU MILLENNIAL!".), imagine on a wedding you are supposed to be quiet and watch the ceremony? So if there is a wedding that is "children free" you can: Find a babysitter and go or say to the couple "sorry, I can't".
Honestly, I don't understand these people who try to bargain when there is a "no" sign already.

So I had to stand both arms hooked over the bars as I had no strength in my arms and feeling like my arms were getting yanked out of their sockets, not even the other passengers and the ones that got on bus after me offered to let me sit down and in fact were muttering heard people call me weird, rude for not automatically moving, they must of been blind to not see one arm bandaged and other with a big plastic like cast finger to elbow.

Yup. Big signs everywhere: yield these seats to disabled people. Heck, I'm technically "entitled" to the seat but if I'm not using my walker that day and someone who IS gets on, I move. I don't know if it's a city rule or not but if someone with a wheelchair gets on and there's no room, the bus driver can evict people already ON the bus to MAKE room. They usually don't have to go that far but we have enough anchor points for three chairs on the bus and there is a trio of wheelie ladies on the route I used to ride who like to go on group outings in the summer. So, rather than getting evicted we'd all just climb up into the elevated back row of seats and hold on to each other/the ceiling/the seats for dear life until we got to their stop.

    • @lekiscool

(We always let the elders get on first, then strollers, then people with shopping using the "cargo bay", we try to be fair and avoid piling it up in there.) She rammed her way onto the bus and plunked her massive badonk into the handicapped seats. I had just gotten out of treatment and my senior friend let me get on ahead of him because "you look like death baby girl" and sat in one of the seats. Everyone filed in and a lady on a walker got on. I was going to move but she said "sit down honey" and turned to Karen. "Ma'am, could you please let me have that seat? I can't get up the steps back there". Karen copped an attitude and they bickered a bit before Karen points at me and says "she's clearly just fine! Tell HER to move! I'M DISABLED". The old woman, god love her, said "that girl has CANCER you tit. All YOU have is too many cheeseburgers on that ass. Overactive elbow syndrome ain't a disability missy now get your fat ass out of the seat." The bus was silent...Karen decided to wait for the next bus.

It's so true that weddings are boring for kids, I was a flower girl at my aunt's wedding and handing out bubbles at the ceremony was fun but then there were like a million pictures we had to take and I was so fed up. So I pulled an ugly face for one of the photos and now it's one of the most iconic photos in my family 😅

      Weddings are boring for everyone.
Adults just have the luxury of knowing they can leave whenever they want to.
If it was upto me i would have left my own wedding early too. I left my brothers wedding early, my sisters wedding early. Haven't attended any of cousins wedding.

Wow, that bride gave no shits about her family. As long as she and her fiancé are paying for their wedding themselves, I don’t care, but I think she is going to be offended in the future when those people she thinks were so rude to her, cut HER out of their lives. I am a firm believer that if you care about people, you listen to them. The bride says she doesn’t want kids at her wedding, a bunch of people SHE calls entitled want to bring their children. It doesn’t appear like she explained herself to them well at all, instead she seems to have told them what SHE wants and not WHY. A lot of people with kids have trouble finding sitters. My own cousin skipped out on my sister’s wedding but managed to show up for a couple hours at the reception because the distance to the venue and the time for a babysitter. She didn’t stay long, but stopped by to congratulate. My sister did allow kids but few people brought them. Strange thing is, a lot of parents use weddings as excuses to DITCH the kids. I know one couple who got married close to home who set up babysitting in a relative’s house. Adults would rotate in as babysitters between the wedding and the reception so everyone could go party without kids. It was a real nice time. I personally think people who ban kids from their weddings are weird. To me, family celebrations seem dull if you don’t have kids around laughing and being kids. But then, I like kids and find them hilarious.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, she honestly sounded like the entitled one rather than her family. Yes she can choose who goes to her wedding, but that might result in her family telling her to fuck off afterwards

Hmm that is another interesting opinion. I mean if she decides to have a child and her child is like "No mom! Have people at weddings is soooo outdated! You are not coming at my ceremony! I'll just invite a friend to be a witness. You can come to the meal if you want, though!" I doubt that she would like it. But then again who knows? Maybe her father did hurt her as much. It is hard to know from such a small portion of story

The father giving his daughter away is sexist?! I've never looked at it that way, I've always seen it as a "farewell" of sorts.

    • @katerinaaqu
      @katerinaaqu 4 года назад +2

Well some people are being exessive and speak of it as it used to be; the bride changing hands from one "master" to another. I don't even see it as a goodbye. I see it simply that a family member is close to you at a very important moment of your life. Why must we label everything as sexist or racist when they are not?
Then with the same logic we must not dye eggs in Easter because it has nothing to do with Christianity and comes from ancient pagan customs because eggs symbolize rebirth etc. So...with the same logic we shouldn't even marry. Marriage according to many archaeologists started off as a way to exchange influence and goods and not as to "love each other". It was an agreement. Literally we should ban marriage with their logic!

It's in no way sexist, this is another example of people just throwing it around in any way they can, it's literally just an extention of the classic asking for the family's/farthers blessing to propose, its simply a way for the farther to say here is my daughter please care for her and treat her well
