This is great, I can see where the virtual mouse would comin handy inside ships. Would love to see the omni throttle. After trying my friend's Virpil HOSAS setup I am now committed, adds a whole new level of fun to SC.
I just ordered a set of the Omni sticks and these guides have me really hyped and actually prepared to jump into the software. I don’t feel as intimidated by the setup.
Solid video, makes this complicated software look easy to use, tho if you want the thumbstick to behave more like a normal game controller's stick, while in the POVs tab, set the DZ to a low number, 4 seems to be lowest it goes to, and change the DZ type to circle. Changing these settings makes the deadzone a tiny circle at the stick's center-point, instead of a wide cross separating 4 quadrants of control, which is how the base settings translate from the hat to the stick.
Hi I have a quick question, I have tried to set this up on my VKS's, but mine is active when the red light is off and not active when the red light is on, any way to switch this round?
This is not necessary with the new evos, as they have newer firmware than can be downloaded. Depending on the version of your stick, it may be worth it 👍
I followed your instructions but for some reason it makes the mouse turn on when the red LED is off. I still have the X and Y rotation when the mouse is off.
Wish I could find a guide that explained how to make the a1 stick push button switch between two separate "sticks" instead of mouse/stick and disabled/stick... Or if that's even possible
I followed your directions but now my right joystick doesn't recognize pitch/yaw. The virtual mouse works but I'm never able to use it to control the ship, even after I deactivate the virtual mouse. Do you know how to fix this?
i dont know what im missing and confused i try and setup the mouse ministick and the profile is just blank? any idea why i can see it working when i go into test
Do you know how I can swap the axis on the ministick virutal mouse, so that X controls vertical mouse movement and y controls horizontal? I'm trying to get the virtual mouse set up on my omnithrottle left stick, but since the stick is tilted on its side towards the right, the "up" direction in reality corresponds to the "left" in the software, etc.
setting the right stick's joystick to mouse caused the device config to be unable to edit the controller, and then it outright stopped showing up in the config as a device. EDIT: Restarting the config software worked.
the fixing of the axes is currently only possible for the lateral axes with the plate. However, even without axle fixation, you can turn any axle into a throttle by removing the spring and adjusting the resistance 🤞
I have a similar--ish issue. When I follow the steps it's flipped where when the red LED is off, it's mouse mode, and then when I click for mode switch then it becomes the normal stick/hat function.

do you have problems with pitch yaw in the game? check whether the sticks are mixed up in the game, that happens again and again 🤞

you can change or invert almost all functions via the game itself. Most areas can also be set using the vkb software 🤞
What about a DCS config. I want to use my left hand angled stick as a throttle but can't find how to do it. HELP!!!!!

mine only activates mouse mode the opposite way if yours (when the red light is off)

Yeah, same. And in game, It is either mouse mode or nothing. Cannot toggle the hat for anything else.

Virtual mouse is very handy, and saves a lot of annoying switching.

Okay i reverted to default settings and plugged the joystick into another usb port afterwards. tried again with the settings all good now

Depending on the port used, you may have to repeat it until the function is active 🤞👍
