We have a 2018 Jay Feather 23RBM with a Murphy bed and love it. Our sofa folds down, and is big enough to seat 3 people. Our bed is a queen size. We have a huge open area in our camper, with the one slideout.

When u review campers and trailers can you show outside features that are more than standard. Like out side shower or out side kitchen or entertainment area. Not like pass through or storage but the bigger things that not every one has.

I never understand why the designer shortchanges the available length on the extended foldable countertop. In my humble opinion it should just about touch the floor and go the full width of the counter itself; hence, truly providing much needed prep and cooking space. 🧑‍🍳

Flagstaff is probably my favorite one. All the others have pretty nice appointments, but the Flagstaff is it. It’s about the size I can pull with my Colorado. The set up is pretty nice. I like that the chairs in the front also serve as recliners. Definitely different with the Murphy beds for all of them. It does maximize space instead of having a dedicated bedroom area

We had the great luck of buying a used 2021 Grand Design MKE17 with a dinette in the fall of 2021 from a couple who were absolutely pristine in their ownership. My husband is a chef-quality cook and that kitchen is amazing. I can stand at "my counter" and chop vegetables and pour wine while he fires the proteins at his end of the kitchen, while still having counter space for a basket of fruit and our coffee maker. I know we are in the minority but we really wanted a dinette - we love to face each other when we dine, and it's also great for board games and puzzles. We took it across the continent in a seven week trip and it exceeded our expectations!

We have a Murphy bed unit, it’s a few years old, our camper was bought from a private owner so we ditched the original mattress immediately. Not wanting to fork out the cash for a custom mattress (you’ll realize finding a “Murphy bed” mattress for an rv is basically impossible, I experimented with a few things, but ultimately discovered that a regular, residential 8” memory foam full size mattress will fit and allow you to close the bed, it’s a bit of a struggle but possible. I haven’t measured the base, but I would say it’s probably like a xl full, maybe a short queen because there is still a bit of room on either side of the residential full size. But just for anyone who’s struggling to find a new mattress for a Murphy bed, I also tried a
A replacement sofa bed mattress I had, which is designed to fold up in a couch, with a mattress topper, it also fit fine but was too rough on my back. Worked fine for my fiancé though so that’s an option too, it folds up a bit easier in the rv for sure. But 8” memory foam seems to be the limit, I wouldn’t try anything with springs as it wouldn’t fold like memory foam will. Pro tip. Lol.

    • @monkeyz240
      @monkeyz240 2 года назад

Also ours has a bunk house, we don’t have kids, but we have found it’s super handy for a couple of reasons. The top we use for storage, I plan to add netting so things are more secure during travel, but my 6” fiancé fits fine in the bottom bunk, this is important for us because our rig has a slide out for the dinette, and when it’s in we can still access everything, however you cannot put the Murphy bed down, so when we’re sorta “stealth” camping, in our case catching some z’s at a rest stop during a long trip, we don’t want to put the slide out, so he can sleep in the bunk, and I have the option of the dinette bed (I’m 5’ 5” and fit perfectly on the dinette when it’s in bed mode) or on the couch, I prefer the dinette, it’s actually quite comfortable and roomy, enough for me and one of our dogs, the other manages to squeeze in with my fiancé in the bunk 😂

Since I've been looking for my new permanent home, I've been stuck on the Grand Design Imagine 17MKE. But now I am wavering and loving this Keystone model. I need plenty of storage, an oven, Murphy bed, and am torn between the u-shaped table vs lounge chairs. If Grand Design were to make another version with the u-shaped table, I would fall in love with that.

Hey Catherine - they do offer a booth option - which is what I prefer as well. Most dealers have the theater seating but I did see a model with the u-shaped booth and really liked that option. I also like that it has huge pass through space. The roof is solid and the 2022 version comes with solar power now ( they were always pre-wired for it but I was told that now it comes with one panel since the refrigerator is now full electric)

Odd question… with the first RV the flip out bed looked like you could lie on that alone (without pulling down the Murphy bed) to watch TV or chill. On the second… I’m guessing that’s not possible? Looks kinda flimsy. It’s ok if not, just wondering out loud.

I love that you did 3 completely different options. It allowed me to really prioritize what I feel is important when you see how the layout is slightly changed I LOVED the 2nd one because of the amount of kitchen space and I like how they did the bathroom. But I really like the U-Shape dinette and the drawers underneath the benches. If I had a friend staying with me, I'd prefer to have that drop down bed too. I don't feel like you need a huge bathroom when your out camping but I grew up tent camping so my expectations are low. :D But I didn't like the first option. It just didn't flow as well for me.

Hi,love your shows. Could you please show more videos on no slide out RVs? The slide outs has too many issues. That's one less thing to worry about. Also please spend a little more time on the outside of these trailers. That's very important to us all season campers.Thanks.😊🤷

Thank you! Have you had a chance to check this video out? ruclips.net/video/LQQJ0UUMYbg/видео.html It's our most recent video of TT without slides. We don't get to spend a lot of time on the outside of RVs because we are usually at a dealership or RV show and they are tightly parked, but we'll try to include more when possible. Sorry it's not very helpful. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.

Wish you'd review the Keystone Passport 219bh. It has the Murphy bed but no slide and bunks in the rear; total length of 25.5. Excellent use of space along with great storage. The table is on the camp side while the kitchen is in the rear. I have this model, didn't want the slide. Exchanged the stock mattress for a 6inch Zinus for extra comfort. Y'all do really nice reviews, keep up the good work!

I have the 25' Keystone Passport 219bh, similar to the one you're showing except mine has a smaller bathroom because it has a rear bunk set. Mine does not have a slide but does have lots of storage for its size. Love the Murphy bed - excellent use of space!
Incidentally, mine is a 2021 model (built in 2020). I've noticed that the later-built unit no longer has the guide for the shower 'curtain' to run on. Mine has that guide which makes it easier to hang a towel over to dry.
It's only me but I wonder how families cope with multiple towels...

The Grand Design and the Passport were in my consideration; I kinda feel like the EPro was not a fair comparison because it lacked a slideout so was going to be smaller. Comparing the Flagstaff 21DS (or Rockwood 2104S) would have been more appropriate. I absolutely love the windows in the Grand Design as well as the countertops, but I wish it had a u-shaped dinette. I really like the dinette and L-shaped kitchen in the Passport but wasn't a fan of the lack of drawers by the bed and the one time I sat on a Keystone couch it was not that comfortable (perhaps this one was better). Overall not a bad comparison.

Nice review! The big difference from the E-Pro to the others is the weight. If you're towing with an SUV or small pickup this set up at 4.3K works. Plus the EPro has so many standard features, like 190w Solar with converter and off road lift/tires..which is great for boondocking. If you can go heavier I really like the Imagine.

I like the ePro as we don't want a slide out and prefer a smaller trailer as most of our time is spent outside. We do not live in our RV full time, which would make a difference. One comment I agree with is that the ePro was very different from the other 2 because it was much smaller and didn't have a slide out. But that is preferred by some.

E-Pro is a single axle and no slide.. However super functional with space limitations. Single axels and no slides should be compared to like RV's. I agree with you, I do not want two couches. A dinette can be used as a work space and I really like the L shaped kitchens. To sum it up #3 Passport. These are the RV's I'm considering the Rockwood Mini Lite 2104S & 2507S.

I am 35 seconds in and I predict that the Grand Design Imagine XLS 17MKE is your favorite. Now I will watch to the end. Well at least I was right with Susan's pick. Mike the 17MKE does come in a U dinette as well. Similar to the Keystone Passport 189RB. My personal favorite is the Grand Design. I will be ordering one with the dinette. The Passport is a close second for me. The E-Pro E19FD seems a bit on the smaller side with a 7 foot wide body. If Forest River could make it with a dinette slide and more storage that one might be a contender as well.

Really liked the features of the Keystone. However, some features of the Geo Pro that you didn't cover are 1) standard off road suspension.
    2) standard 190w solar pkg. upgradable to 380w.
    3) standard shower mizer.
    4) standard wifi ranger.
These are the features that get my attention and vote. Even though I intend to go full-time nomad lifestyle, I believe this would best suit my needs. The only modification I would consider is going to a Timbren suspension.

Sorry but what a waste of space to have 2 couches. Murphy bed over a sofa is double redundancy. I'm old, 5ft 2 and could never get into that bed!! I liked the ones that just had the Murphy bed that became a couch. Does any one in the RV trailer world even think of the old and disabled? How about a walk-in bath shower combo? What about larger slide out shelves (like ones for herbs and such) for pots and pans for us old guys and gals?? Some of us don't bend that well any more. Sorry, I'm not really crabbing ...just pointing out some logical points that some one could cash in on.

Keystone Passport would be my choice. Love the dinette plus a couch design and the 'U' shaped dinette just made it even better. However, my tow vehicle is a Pathfinder so their weights put them out of reach except for the E Pro but I find the R Pods to be a fundamentally better design than the E Pro overall.

Hi, first time watch your channel and I like it very much!
I like the Murphy bed idea in a small trailer. That way you can have a sofa and dinette. I don’t always like to eat on the sofa (especially pasta & sauce !) and sometimes sitting at a table comes in handy.
I’m curious why you didn’t choose the Forest River ROCKWOOD MINI LITE 2104s? It has a slide out I-shaped dinette and is more in the same class as the other two you reviewed. To me the GeoPro is like a subcompact trailer compared to the mini lite I referenced above. I look forward to your next video!!

Hello, nice reviews - I personally love the Grand Design 17MKE. I have seen this model in the dinette option and I think it gives the Keystone a run for the money. The MKE seemed more solid to me . I believe the refrigerator size is the largest of the three as well. I would like to see you do a full review of this particular trailer. Cheers and I love your reviews!

Thanks Mike and Susan for this video. I really like the Grand Design Imagine XLS17MKE. You guys state an MSRP of $34,634 (assuming model year 2022?). However, when I build this trailer on the Grand Design website its MSRP comes out to be $42,466 (including the Theater Dinette option). Are you telling me that the MSRP increased by about $8000 within 5 months?

We appreciate the feedback! When doing our reviews we don't get into the technical or outdoor stuff. We try to focus on the inside living area, and other details about campers can normally be found on the manufacturer's or dealership's website.
