When you see the "holographic" security feature on the 1 ozt Britannia, and then realise it's on the fractionals all the way down to a 1/25th ozt coin - you just marvel at the technology these days.

On top of that the Pound is also worth more. But of no significance. It's still just a low arbitrary fictional value that needs to be there because the countries law require legel tender to have a face value.
In that respect I really like the Krugerrand. Honest value legal tender in it's country without fictional face value. But I think in many countries face value doesn't matter but sure there are probably some. In EU investment gold is not obligated to be legal tender. Not that there's many generic gold rounds available but legally they'd be perfectly viable as investment gold on par with government issued bullion.

Fantastic review! It was great to see that you didn’t give any biased viewpoints and let the viewer decide for themselves which coin looks the best. All three are highly respected by me and a mighty difficult decision to tell which was is the most attractive. I like that the maple was the first pure 9999 24 karat gold coin introduced in 1979 and that the Canadian mint only use gold sourced from Canada, now that’s pretty damn cool!
Only advice is the second time you measured, should’ve been in metric format ie grams, but no matter. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work, thanks my friend and all the best.

I still don't know why ppl are so set on "security features" when it's easy to tell real gold from fake no matter how many features...like the lcs is or a person who can verify it being 24kt gold is going to buy it. The britannia is gorgeous although I don't like that lady on my coins as a patriotric man but I can't deny the beauty in the britannia and maple. Probably depends on which way you look at it. The Britannia is probably technically the hardest to copy. On the other hand dies are laser engraved with unique ID patterns for Maples. Most likely not that hard to copy to looks of it but in order for it to come up as verified as comming from one of the Royal Canadian Mint's dies is most likely also very difficult. On the other hand if you don't have access to a scanner with software to lookup information in the RCM database then the Britannia is probably the most easy to spot as fake. But hey no one is going to make a 1:1 copy in 9999 solid gold so I don't know how important those measures are but they're nice none the less. In the past governments has been known to make 1:1 copies of Krugerrands as a way of obtaining forreign currencies. But hey they still held the promised 1 oz gold!!

@@HifiCentret it's private sell security we don't care where the gold came from heck I'm sure some of this gold in these bullion coins came from the victims of ww2. Anyways I doubt it would be difficult for any government to create exact "1:1" counterfeit usd bills. But hey who cares along as you know it's real gold.
