    Excellent video. Except my version had 1 more screw you did not mention. it was at the rear just behind the bag access portal, inside the undercarriage and off set ti one side.

      Mine had the extra one too. Had me confused for a bit 😂. My fix was a small extra shim added behind the catcher switch so it closed in full (it's normal plastic back seems to have moved slightly over time)

    Really appreciate your time preparing these; it's quite encouraging even though I have the 21" version. I'm hoping I just have a switch out of place... sudden stop while not even really cutting grass (just helping some over-seeding settle down), so I can't imagine I killed the motor. There was a brief flicker of the green light when I tried to restart and the battery works fine in a string trimmer.

    Thanks a million, Virginia Fruit Grower ! I can see I missed a number of screws. I also see I'll need to get an extension for my cordless screwdriver. I'll give it another try later today and will report how I make out as well as my hopeful success at repairing this unit. Btw - a couple of notes. I did end up removing the bolts for the motor but now that I see you don't need to remove that, I think I'll put those back in. We were able to remove the wires on the battery box so we didn't have to remove the connection harness as you did. They're tight to get off, though my guess would be they're so tight to avoid their slipping off with vibration during normal operation. One thing I'll mention is that I have great electrical/electronics ability but not so great mechanical ability so while I have high hopes of diagnosing an electrical problem, your guidance in getting the cover off is most appreciated.

      Also - This may help others. I actually did remove the blade even though you didn't. I just felt safer doing that since I was removing screws in that area even though the battery was already out. This is also a good time (I realized) for me to get the blade sharpened since it's never been sharpened in 6 years :-(.

    Very useful video. Thanks for preparing it. One question though: to get access to the “service compartment”, i.e. the wiring area beneath the battery compartment, Do One need to unscrew the whole bottom section, i.e. bottom deck? My question boils down to: Can one remove the top tortoise shell ( includes battery compartment) without touching any of the numerous screws on the bottom deck?

    • @VirginiaFruitGrower

    • @VirginiaFruitGrower
      @VirginiaFruitGrower  3 года назад

      Hi Dennis! There are three switches in this model that I saw. The one in the handle area I left alone. The one in the side by the handle I took out the spring. That way I could adjust the height of the handle to any setting and it would still operate. The switch in the base was the problem so I just bypassed it by cutting out the switch and using wire nuts to connect the wires directly to one another. I hope this makes sense.

      @@VirginiaFruitGrower when messing around with the mower to begin with, I thought the problem may be with the switch where the key is inserted but remember seeing something as I was moving the handle to different positions so maybe the switch at the bottom is the issue. Is there a service interval for the brushed motors? My mower is five years old and I feel like it's stalling much more easily than it did when new.

    • @VirginiaFruitGrower
      @VirginiaFruitGrower  3 года назад

      I'm not sure but it would be a good idea to clean underneath the deck which could be clogged with clippings and change or sharpen your blade. A dull blade will cause more load and work on the motor which may lead to stalling out. Good luck!!

    My 2100sp mower won’t start. The self propelled aspect works fine. I’ve noticed a yellow slow flashing light when I pull handle. Any advice?
    I also noticed one of the 4 nuts on the back of the handle is missing. Any idea what the proper name of this nut is so I can order from parts warehouse (that’s where they source from). I took the handle apart and was surprisingly difficult to reassemble.
    I also took bottom hood off and tried wiggling the wires without luck.
    Can the motor actually go bad?

    • @VirginiaFruitGrower
      @VirginiaFruitGrower  3 года назад

      I'm not sure what the yellow slow flashing light is exactly. I read that it could be that the motor is being stressed. Does the blade move freely? I'm sorry I don't know the name of the nut on the back of the handle. I bought a motor to replace mine but it was just the switches that were out of place and not engaging. I'm sure they could go bad if abused. Thanks for watching and best of luck with your repair.
