one of my favourite plane...now absolutely classic D C -10. Those DC -10 got their own histories of "Problems" and some "Accidents" as well, I 've taken maybe 3 or 4 of them in my life to fly trought.....Great Job !!!!
I can not remember how many of these models I destroyed whilst attempting to assemble them as a kid in the 70s. For me, the most difficult part was applying the decals, very tough to get them straight and lined perfectly before they dried and adhered to the model...As for the instructions...who needed instructions? I was a 9-year-old kid, I knew everything? (turns out I did not). So, I just "winged" it, if you'll pardon the pun. Another $2.00 from my parents down the drain, oh, the memories.
Nice work! There was a joke going on in the 1980. Question : for what stands KLM? Answer : (in dutch language) Koop Lockheed Majesteit (Buy Loockheed Majesty) The normal answer would be : KLM stands for : (in dutch language) Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij (Royal Dutch Airline). Explaination: An emblematic figure of the Dutch royal family, who died at the age of 93 in 2004, Prince Bernhard , nicknamed "Bernhard the indestructible" by part of the Dutch press, had survived one of the greatest scandals of the last century in the Netherlands: the Lockheed affair. It was in 1976 that the scandal broke out: it was revealed that the prince had received more than $ 1 million in bribes to encourage the purchase of aircraft from the American firm. Strictly avoiding prosecution, he was only forbidden wearing his uniforms and losing his military duties. On the other hand, he was able to display his decorations until the end of his life.
Hmmmmm.....may be wrong on this..... but the dc-10 did not have the center main landing gear.....the MD-11 had the center landing gear, to support the extra weight capacity of the 11 over the 10.
Sorry, but you’re wrong. Only the DC-10-10 did not have the centre main gear. The Series 30and 40 did. The Series 10was virtually only U.S “domestic”model. I believe KLM only received 30s so would have had the third main gear set up.
Thanks! The airbrush I used in this video is Iwata HP-CS. I also have a badger sotar 20/20. I like them both. I also started out only handpainting but now I've switched to airbrushing most of the kits
Nice video! But there's one thing that I don't understand! Why do u get a transparent model holder that can't be put anywhere on this model?? And Revell never placed any instructions for that holder! Is it even normal to have it in the box? I bought 2 boxes and both have that holder. So does anyone know why it's even included?
I have a question. Does the kit include the paint and the water-transfer stickers, or do you have to buy that stuff separately? The paint you buy separately I assume, but what about the stickers?
The paint I always buy separately although I think there are some beginner level Revell kits that include paint. If the kit doesnt advertise "paint included" on the front of the box, I would plan on purchasing paint separately. The water transfer stickers (decals) are always included.
I tried to make a 737 but as Aloha airlines the roof poped of so i glued it back and my DC-10 was fine but the rudder was crocket And my 747 was fine so thats why my 747 was the best
This is just a guess but the stand may be able to attach to the hole that is meant for the center wheel in the mid section of the fuselage. I looked thru the instructions on scalemates and didn't see anything on exactly how to attach it either.
Unfortunately I can't remember. If I had to guess, its probably 80% blue with 20% clear. It's not a technique that I'm using anymore so I haven't mixed it this way in a while
When I madedmy first revell model it was a Boeing 747-8 for Lufthansa and I wanted to get all of the paints that i needed but because my dad is a bit of a cheap sake I just got the blue and grey and they were not the revell paints they were the paints the your Element school art teacher used
my DC-10's cargo door came off i tried glueing it on but now the damn plane is stuck to the ground. and i had to saw the landing gear off now it looks like a landless plane
I tried to build one but then a chunk fell off and my Concorde model exploded.
LOL
2 for 1 on that comment lol
Rommel F lmfao
XD
RIP CONCORDE EVEN A MODEL
"model"
Love it. Reminds me of my childhood making a nwa dc-10 with my father
👍👍
Great job on such a small scale . Decals have always been an issue , as a kid and still today
Thanks! It also doesn't help when the decals are old
I tried to build mine, but the cargo doors wouldn’t stay on...
*YOU’RE MAKIN IT REAL REALISTIC CHIEF.*
Brielle Manuel bruh u made me laugh hard 😂
Clumsy Dragonite both cos plane crash and cargo door never stayed on
Brielle Manuel LOL
Lol catastrophe joke
If you want to make it super realistic rip the cargo doors off
or engine
Thats just dark
Makan Tahi ?? The problem with the DC-10 was the cargo doors.
mostly, from american airlines one engine ripped off after take off, investigation discovered that complicated procedure of uninstalling and installing engine forced ground technitian to find short cut and they did but damaged engine support/pylon, found on more dc-10 but fortunately did not braek
that only happened once
Spectacular your model ..., very good technique used with the Alclad and then the bright flat colors.
Congratulations!
Thanks!
Now light it on fire and simulate the way the real dc10’s operated when in use
Dunkaroos haha
🔥🔥🔥
No just No

That story seems to perfectly sum up why there’s a glittery gold and black f4 phantom model in my closet😂
Lol. I started out the same way, just winging it
@@roccop3760 I have the UGLIEST f4 phantom that I hand-painted when I was 9. Acrylic paint does not work well with models XD
Wouldnt it be nice if a giant assembles a plane this easily for us irl
I know right?!
Gorgeous... we used to operate DC10-30 with Air New Zealand. 👍🇳🇿
Very cool! Cheers!
I love this video and the music😍
Thanks!
Man,ur very very very....(like 100X)good at this job.Amazing work.
Thank you very much 😊
Great job for a great plane. Well done, as usual !
Thank you!
Awesome build! and very nice scale😁👏
Thank you very much!
Great work! KLM its always a civilian Classic! Enjoied the vídeo and the soundtrack
Thank you very much! There's more builds on the way
Nice work ! It’s so beautiful !
👍
i tried making this model but a day after i finished the engine on the tail had its fanblade cut off all 3 hydraulic systems
i know what u did there
I used to built airplanes like when I was a kid but I wasn’t good for the label or sticky at the end. Reminds me of good old days man.
👍
Glad I saw this before deciding to get one like this... Saved me money, thank you))
Also nice skill and plane overall
Lol, the kits got some inherent flaws. On the plus side, it was inexpensive
Good video/build!!👍👍. Greetings from the netherlands.
Thanks! 🇳🇱
How have I never seen this channel?!?! (Instant subscribe!!!)
👍👍👍
Recommended me more others like this saddisfying music
Why is the cargo door still attached to the plane?????!!!!!
Very unrealistic. He should have detached it at the hinges for extra authenticity.
@@OrdinaryJack1912 I like your idea
Lol
This kind of humour... we lack presently... please... carry on!
John Celcius , yeah because a crash that killed 346 people is highly amusing. Get a grip.
What a beautiful job!!
👍
Nice work!

Ahhh my favorite plane and my favorite airline
Double win!
KLM! AND DC-10!
My Favorite Airplane But Wrong Airline
It never met a mountain it didn't like........
Oldest airline but not too old airline
Wow just wow it is legitimately awesome 👏🏽
Thanks!
Beautiful model!
Thank you very much!
Very nice. Great skills.
👍
My airbus a320 Modell looks like...💩
But I have to say, I used no airbrush pistol.
So ugly
Lol. My builds instantly improved once I bought an airbrush.
Where can I buy the 1/1 version at?
You can buy one at the scrapyard for a 100 bucks
Nice job! I’ll be starting a 1/100 scale kit of the same bird soon this gave me some ideas
Nice, which airline livery will you be using?
Can you teach me how to keep that metal piece on, so i don’t have to keep buying Concorde Models
i used too much glue on the Cargo door
and the whole damn plane is stuck to the ground
This is oddly satisfying.
Haha I know
I love the dc-10
Me too!
Good work!
👍
1975 i build a VARIG DC-10
dc-10이네요 잘 만드셨어요!
감사합니다!
Very beautiful model and what's the music is here
this was my first model kit that i got like 3 years back
The only thing I dislike in this kit is that the window decals are connected to the livery.
This prevents you from making the default white livery.
Looks beautiful!
Thanks!
Wow…if there had only been instructional RUclips videos around fifty to fifty-five years ago, my own models might have turned out a lot better!
I feel the same way, I learn so much from everyones videos and tutorials
nice model!
Thank you!
Really cool!

Gotta side with Gordon on this one. Hard to argue with the base kit and decals. plus Google.
Beautiful
Thanks!
Beautiful job! What brand is your airbrushing kit? I'm starting with handpainting but I'd love to try spraying 😊
Thanks! The airbrush I used in this video is Iwata HP-CS. I also have a badger sotar 20/20. I like them both. I also started out only handpainting but now I've switched to airbrushing most of the kits
@@ScaleModelAssassin thanks for the reply! I'll look into it 😊

Very nice job 😀👍👍👍
Thanks!!
I love this

I’ve bought 3 of these exact dc-10 models, should I be concerned?
It's an older kit so not the best fitting, but I still liked it and with some care it will turn out nicely
Good job!
Thanks!
Doing a Revell VW rabbit, and its quite unique. And also a little expensive, the box said paints included but they weren’t lol
I have mixed feelings on Revell kits lol
Nice video! But there's one thing that I don't understand! Why do u get a transparent model holder that can't be put anywhere on this model?? And Revell never placed any instructions for that holder! Good to know. So if I want to make my own plane airline/livery, I just sell the decals and make some extra money.
@@ScaleModelAssassin like the 747-200, comes with blue paint, white paint, and aluminium paint.
I don't paint them tho I'm terrible at it ;-;
So cool😎
You are soooooo gooooooood
Very good!!

neat thanx.....beautiful build
Thank you!
very nice!!!
Thanks!
I tried to build mine, but the tail engine, vertical stabiliser and rear end is riddled with holes
Great job, did the Revell A320 now doing Handley Page Victor, also Revell, both crap kits, nothing fits. will never do another Revell kit again!
Lol I feel the same way
Quick update, just smashed the Victor into 1000 bits and put in the bin. Felt so good. :- )
hahaha Ive always wanted to blow one up with a firecracker. If I get a disaster kit I might do it and film it in slo-mo
Nice. It's very Cool)
Thanks!
Put metal balls in the paint so you don’t have to spend more time stirring and you can just shake the paint
I will have model DC-10 😀😀
I tried to make a 737 but as Aloha airlines the roof poped of so i glued it back and my DC-10 was fine but the rudder was crocket

I tried building a Boeing 747-200 KLM but the right wing fell off
at what ratio did you mix the blue and the clear paints?
Unfortunately I can't remember. If I had to guess, its probably 80% blue with 20% clear. It's not a technique that I'm using anymore so I haven't mixed it this way in a while

Ooooh that sounds rough
IKR
now crash it as real as the DC-10
Hey i bought that kit and i did't find the windshield were it ia wen You open the box
It's tiny and was on a separate clear sprue. Hopefully it didn't fall out of the box
Now make a light-up one.
Lights,cockpit, enterior ish
oh god i wanna know how hard that would be
This was mi first revell plane
Lol same
I stumbled across this kit at a model show last year, it was fun but I remember a lot of flash on the plastic
well my first model kit i should say
Where can I buy this
Cool
I built my first one in 1975,but it kept breaking
But ya know u painted cockpit glass..? look 5:09
He must painted. Or do you look of a empty inside area?
There's nothing to see on the interior so the cockpit glass is usually painted and a windshield decal placed over it
Where can i find bigger models?
Revell and Zvezda both make 1/144 scale planes. Hasegawa has good 1/200 scale sets
Nice but how do u get those things at the start
I cut all the pieces off the sprue before I started filming. They all came with the revell kit
Oh okay
Если не секрет, каким аэрографом пользовались?
Это не секрет. Аэрограф Iwata HP-CS
which countries are available Revell?
I really like that Revell plane, I've never seen that revell before so longer...
For added realism you could blow one of the cargo doors out
Does it come with explodeable cargo doors
:D
my DC-10's cargo door came off
i tried glueing it on but now the damn plane is stuck to the ground. and i had to saw the landing gear off
now it looks like a landless plane
If only it was a bit bigger
I need this but my parents don't give permission
Looks like a really old kit, late 80s, early 90s ?
The instruction are copyright 1997. Feels older though
I have this one as well, just need to paint it
Good
Which music at 4:30
Unfortunately I can't remember. I think it came from the youtube creators audio library
Scale Model Assassin Thank you✌🏻
1:57 oh shit u painted it black 5:07 nevermind
Muy bonito...pero hay que tener paciencia y ser detallista para hacerlo.
Gracias!
nice
👍👍👍
Can you send me the exact colours what you have used?
Is there a specific part of the airplane you are curious about? The subtitles list the colors I used.
Superbe.
Thank you!
